      SF2 Korean War Era F-86 Sabre Pak

      *Note: There is a distinct probability that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs at any patch level, due to the extensive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment. End Users ™ that attempt it, do so at their own risk. A Full 5 Merged install is reccomened at the LATEST patch level.*

      This is the F-86 Sabre Pak for the Korean Air War mod. Probably as eagerly awaited as the terrain itself...

      Ladies, Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, THIS is the "Star of the Show"!!!

      In this pak you have 3 Sabre marks, with their various skins/decals sets:

      F-86A:
      334th FIS
      335th FIS
      336th FIS, 4th FIW

      This set uses the 'SF2 date switch' to swap from the Black/White Invasion stripes (Early skins) to the Yellow ID band (Late Skins). They switch on March 1, 1951.

      F-86E:
      No. 2 Squadron, SAAF
      16th FIS
      25th FIS
      39th FIS, 51st FIW
      334th FIS
      335th FIS
      336th FIS, 4th FIW

      F-86F:
      16th FIS
      25th FIS
      39th FIS, 51st FIW
      334th FIS
      335th FIS
      336th FIS, 4th FIW

      ...and a Surprise Bird, with 3 skins of it's own!!!!!

      All aircraft have brand new skins, built from ravenclaw's beyond superb template. All skins are in jpg format, and Decal Randomization is set to TRUE. Almost all markings are decals, excepting special vert fin/rudder markings (the yellow stripe for the 4th FIW, and checkboard with squadron color for the 51st). New DDS damage textures are included.

      An all new, SF2-compliant FM was created for these aircraft; it flys like it should! (as seen on some other recently released Sabre mods) A new userlist ini is also included. The F-86A gets an SF2-version of my original 'box art' Hangar screen; the E & Fuses a more 'generic' style. No weapons are included; they are in the KAW weapons pak, and excepting for the drop tanks and HVARs, reference stock items (ie: the bombs). Many new sounds are included; be advised the included 50cal sound =WILL= overwrite any others you posess. Several new 'effects' are included as well.

      For your extra added Flying Pleasure, a KAW =ONLY!!= modded InstantAction.ini resides in the included /Flight folder. REMINDER: use this =ONLY= in a stand alone KAW mods folder. It's based off the Korea V.3 map, and you'll need the MiG-15bis_NK, La-11 Fang, F-82G, F9F-2, and of course, these Sabres. This is an optional use file; I won't be insulted if you don't use it, or change the aircraft to what you want. Really; I promise!

      As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. There are "Operational Notations" and other impertinant data you should know.

    2. SF2 Korean War Era F9F-5P Photo Panther Pak by Pasko

      SF2 Korean War Era F9F-5P Photo Panther Pak by Pasko

      = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

      *Note: There is a distinct probability that this mod =MAY= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs at their latest patch level. However, due to the modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment, some features will not be implemented/work/show up. End Users ™ that attempt it, do so at their own risk. A Full 5 Merged install of SF2 is reccomened at the LATEST patch level. This is how it was (re)built & tested for KAW.*

      Slight upgrades to Pasko's F9F-5P "Photo Panther" bring it more in line with SF2, in specific regards to the KAW mod.

      This is the complete aircraft, with 2 skin/decal sets for:

      VC-61, USN
      VMJ-3, USMC

      Skins remain in bmp format due to their small size (512x); decal randomization (for the 4 Level 2 decals used on them) is set to TRUE. This should pose no in-game issues, as Recon flights only generate 2 aircraft. AND...the aircraft only has the one mission tasking statement.

      Included are sounds (from the KAW F9F-2), the pilot figure, and the cockpit FROM the -2 Panther (although the -5 pit IS different -would you rather be stuck with the A-4B?? Again!!??). The aircraft is fully carrier capable, and was tested in the KAW mod. The FM remains relatively untouched. A userlist is also included, as is a NEW SF-2 "Box Art" style hangar screen.

      Wingfold operates via the Standard Animation Keystroke, Shift/9. However, due to animation linking, the canopy ONLY opens when the arrestor hook is deployed (H key).

      As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. There are "Operational Notations" and other data you should know.

      =================================================================================

      "ORIGINAL README"

      SF2 F-4ETM_Simsek "Lightning"

      I want to thank "Sundowner" for his gracious assistance and the permission to use his F-4E_2020 .LOD

      Not the perfect version of the aircraft but I made this as my own 'Simsek' representation.

      Short history of F-4ETM_Simsek:

      "After the completion of the Terminator programme, the TuAF considered upgrading a follow-on batch of 48 more F-4Es Under the project 'Terminator II'.
      T2 project was to emphasize on the increased air-to-air capability, the project was to involve more local content rather than using Israely hardware. However, the estimated cost was as high as $670 million and contract negotiations were cancelled in 2005.
      After the cancellation, the Turkish Government decided to develope a national modernisation programme using the experience gained from the Terminator project.

      Under project 'Simsek' (Lightning) started in February 2006 the TuAF aims to keep more squadron of F-4Es airworthy until the arrival of the F-35.
      The 1st ASMC was the main contractor and subcontractor ASELSAN (Askeri Elektronik Sanayi - Military Electronics Industries) providing the avionics.

      Simsek includes a structural and avionics upgrade of 16 F-4E Phantom IIs. Structural modifications included in the work will extend the service life until 2014 - 2016, while the avionics enhancement included integration of CDU-900Z control display units, MXF-484 radios, the LN-100GT INS/GPS navigation system, a cockpit TV system, AVTR, and IFF Mode 4.

      The first two aircraft, designed as F-4ETM Simsek, were delivered to 112 Filo at Eskishir AB on March 3, 2010. All 16 upgraded aircraft are due to be delivered to 112 Filo, which was the first TuAF Phantom operator. The Simsek project is planned to be completed in early 2011.

      To be use in SF2 Merged Installed.

      Contain the following squadrons:

      111_Filo_Panter

      112_Filo_Bad Girl
      112_Filo_Blue Simsek
      112_Filo_Red Simsek
      112_Filo_Turkish Female Warrior

      132_Filo_Hancer
      171_Filo_Korsan
      172_Filo_Sahin

    4. F-100D Armée de l'Air complete

      F-100D Armée de l'Air

      I started this mod of stock SF-2 F-100D to upgrade old TMF SF-1 as
      we needed it for SF-2 EU campaigns.

      It took me so far that with a big help from Ludo, who made ALL the historical numbers,
      so ALL squadrons were made in silver and/or camo.

      - 1/3 Navarre (silver)

      - 2/3 Champagne (silver)

      - 1/11 Roussillon (silver & camo)

      - 2/11 Vosges (silver & 2 camo)

      - 3/11 Corse (silver)

      - 4/11 Jura (2 camo)

      The refuel probe is deleted but if You'ld want to install (as in loading screen)
      simply use included alternative F-100D-FR_DATA(Refuel).ini.

      As a tribute to TMF I included original readme of SF 1 model.

      That's all.

      One year ago Spillone104 (Alex) and I started this mod.

      I kept it in my pocket for a long time but now it's time to share.

      Every known (by me) squadron was made.

      The skins are mine, the 3D work and sounds are by Alex.

      The pack includes 4 versions (due the fake pilot by Fast cargo system used):

      - F-6 (12 skins)

      - F-6 green (4 skins)

      - F-6C (6 skins)

      - F-6C camo (6 skins)

      All from Pakistan except one from Bangladesh. All historical serial numbers included.

      To install: all in main mod folder as usual.

      I hope You will enjoy it as We enjoied making.

      This mod is aimed at making the Mirage 5F flyable in the second generation of "Strike Fighters" simulators.
      I took this opportunity to improve the stock skin.

      IMPORTANT: no LOD is provided, SF2:E and SF2:I merged are required to use this mod.

      See the readme for more infos

      A big thank to all on C6 and CA forums that helped me solving issues I encountered.
      Any omission in credits is totally unwanted, if I forgot somebody, let me know, I will correct this.

    10. SF2 MiG-23 & MiG-27 Floggers - Part 2

      SF2 MiG-23 & MiG-27 Floggers - Part 2

      This mod supplies a collection of MiG-23 & MiG-27 Floggers, created by ArmourDave and The Mirage Factory, and heavily modded by Lindr2 for SFP1. (These are not mods of the 3rdWire Floggers supplied in the SF2 titles.) All have been converted and updated to SF2 standards. Also included with this mod are all the weapons, sounds, pilots, and seats that you will need to install and use any of the aircraft supplied with this mod.

      This mod consists of three parts:

      Part 1: 1st Generation MiG-23s (MiG-23S, Mig-23M, MiG-23ME, MiG-23MF,
      MiG-23MF, MiG-23UB)

      Part 2: 2nd Generation MiG-23s (MiG-23ML, MiG-23MLA, MiG-23MLAE, MiG-23P,
      MiG-23PD, MiG-23-98, MiG-23UM)

      Part 3: Ground Attack MiG-23s (MiG-23B, MiG-23BN) & MiG-27s (MiG-27,
      MiG-27D, MiG-27K, MiG-27M, MiG-27ML)

      Each of the three parts includes all the decals, pilots, sounds, effects that you will need for the aircraft in that part. This is the second part. The WEAPONS are contained ONLY IN THIS PART -- THE 2ND PART.

      These aircraft can be used in SF2, SF2E, SF2V, or SF2I. To install and use them, you should ensure that your SF2 installation is patched to at least the Dec2009 patch level. See below for installation instructions.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Installation
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~

      Please note that installation of these aircraft will overwrite & replace the default 3rdWire versions included in the various SF2 titles. I recommend that you first REMOVE the 3rdWire MiG-23 and MiG-27 versions - even if you haven't modded them -- before installing these alternate versions.

      To install, simply drag the following folders to your SF2 Mods Folder (NOT the folder that the game installs to):

      \Effects
      \Flight
      \Objects
      \Sounds

      By default your Mod Folder should be located here:

      Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      Windows Vista: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      Windows 7: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[Game]\

      ...where [username] is the account you log into within Windows and [Game] is the name of the particular game mod folder that you're moving the files to.

      If the aircraft are not showing up in your Single Mission Aircraft menu, then you didn't install all the bits correctly. And remember, the WEAPONS are contained ONLY IN THE 2ND PART, which means that you MUST DOWNLOAD THE 2ND PART TO GET THE WEAPONS.

      A Few Notes About This Mod
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Those familiar with Lindr2's Flogger packages for SFP1 will rightly recognize that this updated mod builds on his earlier efforts. Although I have largely followed Lindr2's lead in assembling this package, there are some noteworthy differences between his SFP1 collections and this one:
      1) Different Engine Sounds & Afterburner TGAs
      I have used different engine sounds and afterburner TGAs to give the various engines used by different models distinct sounds and appearances.
      2) NATO Code Names
      The aircraft names do include the NATO code names, whereas Lindr2's SFP1 versions did not use them at all. Also, the Air-to-Air weapons use both NATO and Soviet names/designations (e.g., "R-73 AA-11 Archer").
      3) Wider range of Skins/Nations
      You will find a wider range of skins used to represent more nations, drawing on the various one-off skins that have been released by other modders.
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Credits & Acknowledgements
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      This package largely consists of work done by others and released previously in other packages. All I did was assemble the package, update the bits to SF2 standards, and make minor adjustments and tweaks here and there (discussed above).
    11. TSF J 35 Draken Flygvapnet Package
      The Scandinavian Front J 35 Draken Flygvapnet Package
      By Team TSF & Friends
      The Saab 35 Draken (English: "Kite") was a Swedish fighter aircraft manufactured by Saab between 1955 and 1974. The Draken was built to replace the Saab J 29 Tunnan and, later, the fighter variant (J 32B) of the Saab 32 Lansen. The indigenous J 35 was an effective supersonic Cold War fighter that was also successfully exported to Austria, Denmark and Finland.
      Please note:
      We lack a proper "Early" Draken Model, and as such, the A/B versions are incorrect and use the same 3D Model as the 35D/F/J versions.
      If you already have the TSF Mega Package, you will only find minor edits, weapons as well as the J 35J to be new to this package. Hence, it is worth grabbing.
      The B(I) mk8 was derived from the B(I)mk6 and retains the same Engines, fuel load and loadout. The main change was a redesigned nose and offset fighter style canopy - which was put in place due to the targetting difficulties of the B.mk2 fishbowl style canopy.
      The B.1 Mk8 Interdictor came into service in 1956 with around 69 being built. Other Later variants also used the offset Fighter style canopy.
      The B.mk20 was licence built B.mk2 by the Government Aircraft Factories, Melbourne, Australia. It featured an increased fuel capacity thanks to wing fuel tanks and outer wing pylons were also added.
      The B.mk20 was used by the Australian RAAF between around 1966 and 1971 in conflict during the Vietnam war as part of the US 35th TFW.
      The version in this pack is the later model with the Avon 109 engines and has outer wing pylons according to pictures ive seen. It is also mentioned that the RAAF could use wingtip racks for extra bombs though not too sure on that.
      In 1957 the Royal Rhodesian Air Force ordered 15 B.2s and three T.4s. These were delivered two years later. These were said to have seen action in several regional wars in the area. The version here represents the RRAF from 1971 to 1980. (Rhodesia is now called Zimbabwe)
      In 1961 three ex-RAF Canberras were purchased by Germany for trials and experimental use flying with Erprobungstelle 61 - these were delived in 1966.
      The RAF's first bomber, the Canberra, had a career spanning over 51 years on the front lines. Chief designer W. Petter had just joined the design team at English Electric when work began on the Canberra. He changed the swept wings of the original design to a more unconventional design with the engines part way out on, and embedded in, the wing. The end sections of the wings were broad and square, and two powerful Rolls-Royce Avon engines completed the design. The crew of two sat side-by-side in a pressurized cabin. With good fuel economy, and excellent maneuverability at all altitudes, the EE.A1 was an instant success.
      The prototype was first flown on May 13, 1949, and was problem-free. The first four prototypes were designated the Canberra B.MK 1, and were intended for use with a radar-assisted bomb aiming system. A delay in this system led to the production of a day bomber prototype, the Canberra B.MK 2, and the first operational aircraft were delivered on May 25, 1951.
      Around 410 B.mk2s were built for the RAF - some saw action in the 1956 Suez crisis.
      by Ahmed Junaid Raza
      Pakistan was the only real foreign user of the B-57, with 24 B-57Bs and two B-57Cs passed on in 1959 under the US Military Assistance Program. From 1963, they were fitted with the RB-1A "Georgia Peach" all-weather bombing system, giving these machines a longer nose. Some of the Pakistani B-57Bs were also modified to allow them to carry four external tanks, permitting them to conduct strikes deep inside India.
      Pakistani B-57Bs performed strikes during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani War, flying 167 sorties, with three lost in combat, but as mentioned destroying three IAF Canberras on the ground. They also saw combat in the brief 1971 Indo-Pakistan War, with reports of four or five lost in combat. The Pakistani B-57s remained in service well into the 1980s, being the last of the breed flying in military colors.
      16 B-57Bs were converted to B-57G standard and used in Vietnam from 1970 to 1972
      flying from Tailand for the Tropic Moon III project, and was a pioneer in laser
      guided technology. The B-57G had built in sensors such as a low light TV system,
      FLIR, and a laser giudance system. This enabled it to carry 4 x 500lb Laser guided
      bombs and self designate targets for them. The 20mm wing cannons were deleted due
      to the weight of the LGBs. 4 bombs were also carried in the bomb bay (unconfirmed).
      Its mission was to hunt trucks over the notorious Ho Chi Minh Trail.
      The USAF ordered English Electric Canberras as a need to fill a mission gap - however the order could not be fulfilled in the UK so Martin was able to license build Canberras under the B-57 designation.
      The B-57A looks similar to the Canberra B mk2 however there were actually many differences - not least the the Wright J65 engines. Due to the bubble canopy, targetting the guns was found to be very difficult, and so the canopy and nose were totally redesigned into what became the B-57B.
      The RB-57A was the first real production model of the B-57 with around 67 being built for a photo recon role. They served from 1954 and were withdrawn in the early 1970s. 24 RB-57As were also converted to EB-57As.
