JediMaster 451 Posted February 11, 2008 I liked the first Airplane movie, Lloyd Bridges and Robert Stack were classic!!! William Shatner annoyed the hell out of me in Part II Well, he was supposed to. "Sir, this device has lights blinking out of sequence." "Well, get them to blink IN sequence and then report back to me!" As for Top Gun, that scene basically was put there for the women watching the film. Tony Scott mentioned something like the guys were gonna go for the planes and drag their women along, so he gave them something to watch. Also, TG really is simply the 2nd biggest chick flick ever made (after Titanic) made up to look like an action film with its fighter scenes.

A lot of movies jajaajaj
+littlesmoke 64 Posted February 12, 2008 "The Arrow" btw does "The Right Stuff" count as an Airplane movie? also I just watched 007's Thunderball - the Avro Vulcan has a big part
Syrinx 13 Posted February 12, 2008 Flight of the Intruder does it for me. Battle of Britain. 633 Squadron...all teary eyed now. They all got shot down..."you can't kill a squadron" said Harry Andrews. Let me get the tissues. Firefox wasn't bad. A bit far fetched but still not bad. 12 o'clock high is a classic. I liked the Bridges at Toko-Ri, think that's right. I think they flew Panthers. That's my 10p worth (about 20 cents) !
SayethWhaaaa 245 Posted February 12, 2008 Why, Airplane! of course. Airplane(or flying high)...? Surely you can't be serious?? Golly!
TX3RN0BILL 3 Posted February 12, 2008 (edited) also I just watched 007's Thunderball - the Avro Vulcan has a big part If you're gonna mention James Bond movies then at least do it right - start with "You Only Live Twice" ( "Little Nelly" FTW!!! ) , and end with "Tomorrow Never Dies" ( "L-39 Albatross" Action! ) . The Vulcan of "Thunderball" has no more significance (maybe even less) than the Antonov of "Die Another Day"... As for plane movies, heck, there's Stealth, The Final Countdown, Top Gun, Tora Tora Tora, Battle of Britain, Firefox, and others that I haven't seen but would like to see... TheChief2000 0 Posted February 12, 2008 A few weeks ago the Military Channel showed a movie called "The War Lover." It starred Steve McQueen as a B-17 pilot. I thought it was pretty good. Gotta love "Midway." There aren't actually all that many airplanes in it, but I like the P-51s attacking the Japanese airfield in "Empire of the Sun." Syrinx 13 Posted February 12, 2008 The Dambusters. Of course ! A true classic. This one should reside in any self respecting aircraft enthusiasts DVD collection.

ironroad 218 Posted February 12, 2008 "Eh baby, gimmie a side of dat proter.." "What?" "It's ok miss I speak Jive." Humm...ok I won't bring documentaries into this...so I will stick with Hollywood. Top Gun not because the terminology was real, the squadrons (VA-25 Flying F-14s!), but because the flight scenes were all original and done specifically for that movie. Flight of the Intruder The Final Countdown (if you want to see the golden Age of Naval aviation you got it) Airplane The Memphis Belle (although B-24s are better!!!) The Battle of Britain The Tuskegee Airmen *13 Days gets and honorable mention for the RF-8 scene.
WarlordATF 1 Posted February 12, 2008 Everyone hated Iron Eagle, But anyone alive when it came out will tell you it was the publics first good look at the F-16. It made it an overnight household name much like Topgun and Flight of the Intruder did for the Tomcat and A-6. It had some good footage of the early Viper and yes it was 90% fiction, but that 10% made you watch the rest of the crap. I Hated Part 2, Phantoms as Migs?? The great pilot of part 1 is killed in the first few minutes.Lame. But i watched it to see the Aircraft. Good Movies for me were... Tora Tora Tora, You an tell those stunt pilots enjoyed there work. The Right Stuff, The Ultimate Test Pilot Story. Blue Max-Best WW1 Movie made So Far. Flight of the Intruder, Great Story and Shots of the Aircraft. Blue Thunder, Loved that chopper,Twisted Story. Iron Eagles(all),Top Gun,Firebirds,Flyboys, for the aircraft, fast forward alot.
