The Polly Grey thing is hilarious. Among other things he was actually promoted to Lieutenant but busted to Sgt after seriously insulting HRH Prince Bernhard, and there's lots of other stories in the 322 and 323 Squadron anniversary books, 323 being the "rival" squadron.
