MigBuster Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Blimey Gr.Viper, what do you think this is, the Battle of Midway?! He must have seen the Red Tails trailer and got carried away 1
+Stary Posted March 11, 2012 Author Posted March 11, 2012 "Taking out the Kiev: Have Balls Edition" I'm sure they will pick me up, riiight?
Gr.Viper Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 "Taking out the Kiev: Have Balls Edition" Skyraider, no ECM, GO! Wing leveler works wonders on jets at 15-20m ASL.
+Stary Posted March 11, 2012 Author Posted March 11, 2012 Skyraider, no ECM, GO! A-4K, 6xSnakeeyes GO!
Vampyre Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Flew the Mighty War Hoover as well, A flight of four dosen't quite have the moxy to take out a Kiev battle group The "Pig" worked out pretty well though as did the Block E B-1B Marinefliger Tornados got beat up by the defenses pretty badly : 16 out of 16 shot down for only one ship kill (read mauled). They do look cool though. I do have a great time flying the RN Bucc S2C My Nimrod recon flight didn't end well though
JJava Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 The French attack! Too bad the six-in-one monster carrier didn't suffer much...

exhausted Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 (edited) The Marines are doing the ground pounding job with deadly efficiency, often taking down Soviet interceptors in the process. Not bad for an attack jet! I have a hard time believing that runway could handle MiG-21 ops. Edited March 11, 2012 by exhausted
+russouk2004 Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 T45 spins like a top when about to take off...autopilot and ur ok,if ur quick, some ai tho flip off deck..some fly off ok...odd also some one said blast doors dont work,in 1st shot they were opentook off and they clsed but next time they didnt.
+Stary Posted March 11, 2012 Author Posted March 11, 2012 Century old Polak's Skymod v1 ADDS to the looks (here with sarcasm 1.2) love NA! This is how SF2 should look from day one, but you can't have everything 1

exhausted Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 A new mod I have in the works! It's an AV-8A optimized for the North Atlantic campaign. I whipped the paint job up in about 5 minutes and I noticed the sidewinder rails are black. Any ideas on how to fix that? Also, I noticed the fuel tank interferes with the nose wheel. I might have to abandon that. I was referencing a picture of a RL British harrier on another forum. 2
Wrench Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 (edited) you're mapping is off ... you'll need to find on which skin bmp, and where on said skin bmp, the rails are mapped to. Use the panel finder, available somewhere in the 1stGen downloads (or maybe still at simmerspaintshop.com) DT interference is a known issue. edit: look on the _3 and 4 maps ... looks like lower rith on the 3, lower left on the 4 (gr1/av8a templates available in the sf2 d/l section -i do remember uploading them) edit -again! look for the 4 red triangle in the corner; those are the pylons you're DEFINATELY gonna need those templates!! the aircraft: http://combatace.com/files/file/11938-av-8a-harrier-for-sf2/ the templates: http://combatace.com/files/file/11943-templates-for-3w-harrer-gr1/ and you've seriously overloaded that bird!!! exhausted Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 (edited) Thanks for the resources. I want it to have a somewhat patchy/faded look in the white areas since I believe they were painted with temp paint. I'll work on this one today. Here's some more of some improvements I made, none of which are sidewinder rails. Also, in regards to the overloading, something tells me the Marines would have found a way to load more onto it for a direct conflict. They did it with Corsairs, they did it with Skyhawks, they did it with Phantoms.... why the hell not Harriers in country? Edited March 11, 2012 by exhausted
exhausted Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 (edited) Ok, I redid the camo with the templates and it turned out better then I thought. The SW pylons are still black though. Is that on my end? Also, I think the decals need to be darker and less reflective. Where do I find these files: InsigniaLV, AIM9_rail_R ? Edited March 12, 2012 by exhausted
Wrench Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 don't forget the twinbomb rack in the kit... If you want me to take a look at the skin, I'll be happy to! ------- flying over the ramp, all I could think of was "man, I hope a flock of Floggers with RBKs don't show up! They'd make a hell of a mess of place!

turkeydriver Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Can't make everyone happy. I'm sure we could of fixed it if Oli hadn't of passed away. So what you see is what you get. Sorry if i sounded critical- I'm very pleased and do enjoy the MF tomcat and the new one in SF2NA, just being a Monday morning QB on what I'd like changed-perhaps I outta read up on medding and do it myself for a change....add to the community vice asking.
