+dtmdragon Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Before New Zealand signed and subsequently cancelled the F-16 deal in late 1990's/ early 2000's and then got rid of its air combat wing all together, the original plan for the RNZAF Skyhawks was for them to be in service till replacement around 2007-09. A second upgrade was planned for around the year 2000 to keep their teeth sharp until then. The Kahu II program would have added a GPS navigation system, long range anti ship missiles (most likely the Harpoon), a laser targeting pod (the Litening pod had been chosen) and the ejection seats were going to be replaced with rebuilt UPCO/Stencil SIIIS-3ER seats as used in the A-7. Here is my take on a Kahu II A-4K dropping a GBU-16 during a CAS mission over Afghanistan.... Quote

Spinners Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Can you pls paint the fencer more like the phantom, not the camo... Sorry mate but I won't be releasing it as it was just as a request to someone on another site and has no panel lines, etc. on the new upper surface paint. In other words, it's a bit R.A.F. (rough as f*@#) Quote

McDonnell Douglas Phantom FR.4 - 899 Naval Air Squadron, Royal Navy, 1982 TMF's very inventive 'what if' RF-4K (and you thought they only did real life - lol) with a new overall EDSG skin created by using sundowner's exceptional F-4S templates. Spinners Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Love it Spinners m8 :clapping: Thanks mate. You haven't got an F-4E nosed F-4M there by any chance? LOL That was the Holy Grail for me when I was 'Airfix' mad in the 1970's and I grafted an Hasegawa F-4E nose onto a Frog F-4K! Wish I'd taken pictures of it... Quote
