If it is a terrorist attack it looks like they were timed to catch the bulk of the runners rather than the first few finishers.

3-4 explosions reported, 2 Bombs on the run to the finish line, 1 explosion/fire in an electrical/mechanical vault at the John F. Kennedy Library and,1 controlled by Mass State and Boston Police. This is bull sh!t show no mercy for those F\_/CKERS when we get them! I'm in S. Carolina wish I was back home in Mass!

Probably not a huge amount of Security at a Marathon (I might be wrong of course)...but a soft target for cowards

The police swept for bombs prior to the start widowmaker. Since 9/11 we tend to try to ratchet up security at big events.

From WBZ radio in boston, they hve video of someone putting bags in trashcans on site. Believed to have been put in place after the start.

Take any reports of who did it with a big grain of salt. There is precedent for the culprit to be a home-grown terrorist or a foreign national.
