Sundowner Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Nice work. Some great old aerial photos on this site.....might help with targets... https://britainfromabove.org.uk/en/search?keywords=london&country=england&year=all&view=grid&page=10 2
Gepard Posted April 15, 2020 Author Posted April 15, 2020 Nice finding. What i really would need is a TOD editor. Tiles alone are only one side of the coin. Without TOD's its worth only the half. 3
baffmeister Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 The new London tiles look awesome! A question for model builders: Is it possible to reduce the size of the Tower of London without the Max file? The current model looks much too large but it's probably the only one available.
Gepard Posted April 18, 2020 Author Posted April 18, 2020 I dont think so. Without the max file it will not work. I can't remember who made this file more me. It was years ago.
Gepard Posted April 18, 2020 Author Posted April 18, 2020 Made some new tiles to blend the London Cityporttiles with the generic city tiles. So it looked before i made the blending tiles and so with the blending tiles: 8
baffmeister Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 I think this terrain will get me back into SF2-WW2. An ETO install on my new computer at least. 1

Gepard Posted April 19, 2020 Author Posted April 19, 2020 WIP screenshot: London Cityport. You see, that the blending tiles south of the port (over the left wing of the plane) are not made yet. (5 or 6 tiles) When all tiles are made and placed, i will have to make them "older". Modern features, like the runway in London Cityport or modern factories, motorways etc i must overpaint. 5
Gepard Posted April 19, 2020 Author Posted April 19, 2020 Last sit rep this weekend. 3 tiles done, 2 tiles needs a rework. But not today. Feierabend. 2
russouk2004 Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 looks really good m8 u can almost hear the traffic lol 1
Gepard Posted April 21, 2020 Author Posted April 21, 2020 (edited) Look over London cityport in southern direction. The generic citytiles, which i made, i dont know. They are looking more like a small town than London. BTW, could someone make a real He-100D1? I love this bird! Edited April 21, 2020 by Gepard
Sundowner Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Bear in mind that 1940's London was a LOT smaller than it is now.

I will make London a little bit smaller than it was on the old map. Here a test with a new standard generic city1 tile What do you think? Should i stay with the old greyish tile or set on the more brick red tile? 5
Gatling20 Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 Great-looking work, I'm looking forward to it, thanks Gepard. One small historical note, relating to the River Thames, since this is a WW2 terrain - HMS Belfast was only moored in the Thames, opposite the Tower of London, in 1971. She was not there during WW2. 3
Gepard Posted April 26, 2020 Author Posted April 26, 2020 (edited) London tiles mostly reworked with new, more red, tiles. So it looks now: There are some tiles to rework, including the tile with the HMS Belfast that still needs to be removed. Edited April 26, 2020 by Gepard 9
Gepard Posted April 28, 2020 Author Posted April 28, 2020 (edited) Sit rep: I have started to make new tiles for the river Themse west of Batterypark in London. The screenshot shows a view from west to east. Batterypark, Hydepark and Tower of London i have marked on screenshot for your better orientation. Edited April 28, 2020 by Gepard 5
Gepard Posted April 28, 2020 Author Posted April 28, 2020 Last screenshots for today: He-100D1 at 5.000 meters over London. 8
