Shoe cobbler wants shoes and when he asks his patrons where's a good place I can get me shoes, they send him elsewhere. There's some irony in that I suppose.

I noticed the download EAW download section is fairly vacant. Is there something we could be doing better here at CA to help EAW develop a more robust file library here? I'm also wondering who is/are the developer(s) for EAW? There are some account level perks that come along with the position, site-wise, and the position is still vacant. Cheers, E

Storage is cheap these days. What you buy depends on the form factor you want, disk or thumb drive. You can get name brand thumb drives for $100 US per 512GB and flash drives are a little cheaper with a bigger form factor. Remember backups aren't fail proof, you need a disaster recovery plan. If you back everything up on flash drives then your house burns down your plan fails. If however those same flash drives were in a bank safety deposit box you'd have a more robust disaster plan. Tweek you disaster plan to your comfort level of loss. IOW if you're backing up crap and the house burns down who cares, but if you're backing up bank, tax, medical records, etc you might want to think your disaster plan through.

Spring cleaning and backups go hand in hand during this time of year. While you're out doing the honey-do list or figuring out where you put the vacuum after you used it last year, your machine could be making backups of all your important documents and files. Disaster recovery is real and a backup may save your sanity. Happy duplicating.

The Fokker D VIIF was delivered so close to the end of the war that's also an easily overlooked aircraft, as noteworthy as it is. I wonder how many actually made to the flight line that made some sort of difference?
-
I forgot about the S.E.5 made right in the middle of the war by the Brits.
-
This is a hypothetical question but I'm curious about your opinions. All things being equal you are an experienced aviator who's flown all the aircraft listed below, all the aircraft were available to you, and you found yourself thrust into WWI at the young age of 19. Which aircraft and version (produced between Jul 28, 1914 – Nov 11, 1918) would you chose / want to fly and why? Bristol Type 22 Sopwith Camel Fokker Eindecker Siemens Schuckert

OBD Software Newsletter - April 2019 Hello WOTR pilots! Good news, finally with the release of our latest update to V1.14 for WINGS OVER THE REICH we bring ... the stunning Flyable SPITFIRE Mk Ia for FREE! All WOTR purchasers can now experience close up, the beauty and grace of the Spitfire Mk Ia together with its other side, power and ferocity. Mix it up with the superb war machines of the Luftwaffe in the Battle of Britain! This is our 'thank you' to all who support us by purchasing WOTR. This release also comes packed with new improvements and fixes - more on that below... Just a few of the great comments about the Spitfire Mk Ia and the WOTR Update V1.14 from WOTR users in our forum: - Thanks for the Spit, she is a work of Art. - It's absolutely perfect! It appears to be, I'd argue, the most accurate Mk.I Spit created for a sim. - The Spitfire is a great addition! Really like the flight model. - I must say I am very impressed with the Spit. The cockpit is immaculate... Fantastic job OBD!! She really is a treat.. - Brilliant, absolutely brilliant thanks - the list of improvements alone is impressive, let alone the Spitfire flyable (for free, no less). Great!.. - Spitfire's a treat to fly. - First flight, fantastic mission ... the spit's an absolute joy to fly. Loving it. - Wow what a beautiful job OBD have done with the Spit.. Love her. Since our last newsletter some time ago, many new features, improvements and fixes have been added in several free updates. These are also incorporated into the latest V1.14 of course. A few examples include; Improved AI flight co-ordination especially for the German bombers and fighters. Improved AI - better landing, collision avoidance and more. Added 100s of aircraft squadron skins, and the ability for WOTR to assign them automatically to your Squadron flight members individually, if the squadron skin sets exist. British Hurricane and Spitfire squadrons have many sets currently, with more to follow for the German BF109 E4. Various improvements including increased bomber formation sizes and more optional flight density settings. Improved AI aircraft engine start-up sounds for all aircraft. Improved Scenery added new wooded areas and more. Performance improvements and new workshop options to tailor settings and much more. The WOTR V1.14 update also includes a set of JG 3 squadron skins for the BF109 E4 as a taste of things to come. Now when you fly in JG 3 all the members of your squadron will fly with uniquely numbered and coloured aircraft. We are working on more squadron skins for the BF109 E4. Recently PC Pilot Magazine (March/April 2019 issue) published aWings Over The Reich Interview with us here at OBD Software. We hope to follow up with more reviews. Please visit our Website for more details on all the above. The full history of changes are listed below the download itself on our downloads page. I'm currently trying to resolve this issue. Standby. -
I'd have to agree ... something about those radial engines I enjoy, but in fairness hearing a turbo fan spool or reheat gives me the good chills.

I don't think anywhere on the site members are excluded from participating whether you're a modder or not. That includes forum discussions and support threads. It's always about inclusion.
-
Support forums are designed for support and allow people to search the same question someone else might have asked because they are indexed. Comments sections are none of those things. That is the intended design to help modders keep things organized and lessen their work load.

I don't understand. Clone what themes?

Comments: I really like this mod the skin is very accurate. Get Support: The package won't install as intended. I don't want to remove either. If people post support in comments ignore them or direct them to use the support link. I know it's a pain but I think removing functionality because people don't understand the difference between comments and support is not our best option. With a global membership lots of decisions like these are hard to make. I'll see what I can do. Thank you.

Glad it's fixed. That was actually the first time I've seen that happen. Maybe your ISP is just having problems with their upstream right now. I hope they get it fixed for you. -

I can't recreate this problem. Where are you trying to upload? Which category? Any information you can provide. Thank you. Test_Archive.7z -
As you may have noticed we had a little hiccup. Updating some of the LAMP services across our machines didn't play nicely at all. After sorting through the bountiful logs after the upgrade, there was simply a mess to clean up. Posting new topics were affected and new sign ups were affected. All those areas have been cleaned up and fixed. Unfortunately I'm delayed in rolling things out until I have some certainty of up-time on the services. So I'll keep plugging along and apologize for the mess while I'm working. Still more to come. E

Almost done making all our raw data backups, you know in case I screw something up horribly. Good job on all the TBs of download files on the site, they take forever to backup with zero compression. The suck continues and I will keep you updated. E
