  1. FYI, the A-6As had the GRU-5 ejection seat, and later went to the GRU-7. Looks good though. Storm
  2. The Spanish and Canadians flew the RF-5As for some time. And something I didnt know until I did a quick search, the South Vietnamese AF flew them out of Bien Hoa AB. Eventually, it would be a nice addition to WoV and WoE. Storm
  3. Great story. Well written. Storm
  4. Keep you head down Eric and watch out for the nads. Hope you rotate home soon. Storm
  5. Yep, that rocks!
  6. I miss the European exercises. Us stateside -135 units dont get the good deal trips over there. The Guard/Reservists scam them all. Nice pics though. Storm
  7. I had to reduce the rotor diameter to 6.1 to get them to spin. Works fine now. Storm
  8. Along with the tail/rudder as Mike mentioned, the F-100C did not have flaps. They were introduced on the F-100D. F-100C Another major thing is the speedbrake shape. The D had a special notch cut out for the centerline nuc pylon. Jeff
  9. X-31 Not really, but I had to add something that would make people look it up or say "oh yea, can we get one of those?" I like the selection of aircraft available and appreciate all that comes out from the various mods. Storm

    Achmed.......

We watched that video before an OEF mission about a month ago. We laughed our asses off. So being the wise-ass pilots that I had on my crew, they waited until I had a jet on the boom and announced over the intercom "I kill you". I nearly had to call for a breakaway because I started laughing so hard. I just You-Tubed it as I'm pretty sure my wife hasnt seen it. BTW, they can kiss my white butt. PC-ness is for people who cant take the truth about themselves. Jeff
  11. Solved the problem. I went back and started adding over the added jets, effects, weapons, etc... and after moving over the stuff in the Objects folder, fired up the clean install. Well, the key problem was back. Luckily I had only moved over a couple of files. Turns out that the AIRCRAFTOBJECT.ini was the culprit. Being that it was from 2006, the new patch didnt like it and it somehow was conflicting with the game. So I deleted it and I'm back to flying without another week is reinstalling. Storm
  12. That is pretty cool. Where did it come from? Which sim? Jeff
  13. I too was having the same problem as dsawan. My controls were not as the default.ini was setup. For instance, the 'A' key was now lights instead of autopilot. Key 'B' was anything, instead of being wheel brakes. I've got a clean install with the patch on the HD as a backup and it is ok, so either the patch process was fubar'd on this install or one of the add-ons jacked up something. Not really sure. BTW, I tried checking that the README wasnt enabled, it didnt take anything. So, a full weeks of installing mods is shot to hell. Another BTW, this was WoE and the Sept 08 patch.
  14. True, but nothing like the Pave. I was fortunate enough to spend 3 years in the 20th SOS, flying around the US, Europe and the Middle East in the back of one of these beasts. If it wasnt leaking hydro fluid on you, it was empty and you should be looking for a place to land. Each helo was a piece of history. Many were veterans of Vietnam and all of them had some battle scars from places like Panama, Bosnia, Iraq/Afghanistan, and many places we'll never know about. Despite the loss of 3 friends during crashes, I look back on those days with fond memories. Glad she went out with style and flew combat missions to the end. Jeff Green Hornet '95-98
  15. I like the looks of the C better. The longer wing makes it more proportional. Nice work Klav. How many Red-Bulls do you drink a day ;)
  16. Wow, that is quite a bit of info. Thanks, could come in handy. Storm
  17. Hmm, I know I'd get castrated for bringing that home, but it sure would be nice. Saturday, I picked up a Martin-Baker Mk.F-7 ejection seat (F-8 Crusader) to go with my MB Mk.H-7 (F-4 Phantom) and armored pilot seat from an MH-53J Pavelow helicopter. Eventually I'd like to restore the two ejection seats, but parts are ridiculously expensive. Jeff
  18. Sweet. I broke about 3 modded terrains trying to get your previous version to work with the tiles and atmosphere. Thanks for saving my sanity. Storm
  19. Why did they change the keyboard layout? That was one thing that was fine. No matter what I do, the key's in the default Controls folder do not match up to what is in game. WTF?? I dont have the touch screens you have, but only the CH Fighterstick and Pro Throttle. So am I screwed? What is the new key map so I can try and create a new .map? Thanks! Jeff
  20. Very nice work. They look great Veltro!
  21. Reading Harpoon really brought back from memories. When I was a dorm dweller as an Airman, one of the guys down the hall had that on his computer. We'd run a Desert Storm scenario and let it rip, all in real time. BUFFs taking off from Diego took so long to get to the targets or ALCM launch points. But it was fun. Thanks for bringing it up. Is there anything that is similiar now? Storm
  22. Found some drawings of our various panels for the cockpit also. Should provide someone with decent enough detail to create a cockpit when the time comes. Storm
  23. Ok, time for some MPRS stuff. Plus I cant let this fall too far down on the page. Here are some photos and specs from a slideshow presentation that I created for my instructor upgrade. Each pod weighs 1442lb, and allows for a 400gpm offload rate. The hose length when fully deployed is 74ft. Hope it helps. Storm
