Actually, it looks pretty close to most of my landings!! "Flown 194 combat missions...been shot down every time. Come to think of it, I don't think I've EVER landed a plane" Wrench kevin stein

AFAIK, the data ini has to be in each one. (tried this one with the RAF mustangs ... definately didn't work! - like pilot skins, it only selects what's called in teh data ini) So, what the biggie? We just get 3 new Martlets, each with their own skin. I can live with that!! Wrench kevin stein

Really??? Hmm..mine don't stick...I wonder what it could be??? That 'usually' fixes the problem. All aircraft or just a few in particular??? (joke coming) Maybe it's a real hot summer, and the tarmac is melted, and holding the tires in place??? (watch, screenie will be winter!!!) Wrench kevin stein

View File F-89J (Late) Scorpion F-89J (Late) Scropion For SF/WoV/WoE: This package is a modification of MontyCZ's F-89C into the late-model J (those without wing-tip rocket pods) It is a semi-complete package, including everything needed, -excepting the aircraft LOD files. They are NOT included, as I consider it 'wrong' to do so, without permission from the original author. (and it's against CA policy to do so) Included are all the needed inis necessary to create the new aircraft. 2 skin folders are included, complete with decals, representing the 178th FIS, NDANG 'The Happy Hooligans', and a generic USAF natural metal. All the skin bmps have been repainted, using new templates created by me, based off Volkjager's original skins. I've duplicated his original work, so all credit goes to him for skin creation...I've basically just redone them to make use of the new panel, rivet lines and new decals created by me for the serial and buzz numbers. Included also is a brand new Hangar screen for the Late J, only available with this mod. Damage tgas are here as well. == You MUST have the latest weapons pak installed to make use of the needed missiles == PLEASE read the enclosed readme for full, detail install instructions!!! Happy Hunting, you Hooligans!!! Hard...always hard. Even my monster system does bog down with 800 zillion SAMs flying around and flak bursts...sometime goes down to 10 fps! Wrench kevin stein

Well...let's see..... as the E model is USAF, and the F is Luftwaffe, I doubt that the wings would on them. (seeing that neither sevice has carriers....) The navy models, B, J, N and S are all built of stock 3rdWire units, and they don't fold either. It has to be built into the 3rd model and can't just be added. (Pasko's Panther has folding wings, btw, as I think the MF's Hornets too), I mean, it's not as if they'er gonna be struck below on any of the CVs we have, is it?? As to your screenie, looks like it's time for a refersher course in drivers ed!!! And I thought I was bad a parrallel parking...!!! Wrench kevin stein

Dave, I'd have expected no less!!! I prostate myself before His Majesty, the King of Decals (bows and scrapes) -- I'm gettin close though, with all the nose arts and such, expecially for the unreleased/beta stuff (F-302 Mongoose), I must be near the 1500 mark! Mike: do you have that on pdf??? I'm willing to trade from my rather large collection of books on pdf.... If that's as good as their F-84 book...!!!!! As to those I could use, in particular comes to mind: 18th FIS 64th FIS Both based at Elmendorf in the 50? early 60s?? (hopefullly, I can find the skills needed to create the necessary markings!) The only thing that bother me with that one, is the ADC gray, it don't look gray enough. I matchd FS16473; it's rgb values are 170,178,176. The specular, reflectivity and glossiness all come right from the ADC gray Phantom: Specular=0.300000 Glossiness=0.750000 Reflection=0.000000 Strange...but it still looks good to me!! First off, who really give rat's patoot if the shells eject or don't....Like I said before, if you're watching that, you ain't seeing the Gomer behind YOU, getting ready to fill YOU full of holes. Secondly, NO STOCK AIRCRAFT HAS IT'S DATA INI PROVIDED INSIDE THE INDIVIDUAL AIRCRAFT FOLDER. YOU have to extract them, useing the cat extraction tool (instrucions for use are in the Knowledge Base) If I can make heads or tails of the previous post, you want to know WHERE the expended casings and links go??? Probably into a storage bin, somewhere near the gun's ejection port. Some aircraft (F-89A-C Scorpion come to mind), kept them onboard for several reasons: 1) Injestion danger from the links and casing 2) Keep aircraft in balence; ie weight distribution (gun equiped Scrpions did this) And as to my Dark Side...well, gentlemen, lets just say there isn't a color black enough to describe it... Help - Canopy open on Phantom FG Mk 1(ECM) ?
Wrench replied to The_Editor's topic in General Discussion
IIRC, the model itself isnt set up for an opening canopy, hence nothing working. Wrench kevin stein -
I thought we just answered this last week??? It's a well known problem in the SF series, where an airbase is listed as the first target area in the targets ini. Hence, in my updated ANW targets pak, I moved everything down one slot, and stuck something else in the 001 slot (can't remember what right now...). Wrench kevin stein

From the question, I can assume you've also not looked in the Knowledge Base, "Weapons & Loadout Fixes" Thread...there are several note section on the J/F-7 series. Much is explained, there, and well worth the time reading them. Wrench kevin stein

Like any other bomb, don't you just point them in the general direction of the bad guys, "push the button, Max", and watch the fireworks???? As a rule, I wouldn't drop under 1000 feet...in case of back-splatter (ya know, greasy burnt bits stuck the underside of your plane...p's off the ground crew) Wrench kevin stein

Just a few more tweeks to the decal locations, and another will be ready to fly and sting the Enemies of Freedom.... 178th FIS, North Dakota Air National Guard, approx 1966-69 "The Happy Hooligans", F-89J Late model (no wingtip rocket pods) coming soon!!! I also learned something very important about decal inis and pathways... did you know you can't use a paranthetical expression in the pathway??? The original name of th aircraft folder was F-89J(Late) so the decal path was F-89J(Late)/178/D/whatever and they didnt work!!! changing the folder name to F-89J_L solved the problem...after 4 hours of head scratching!! A tip to all skinners out there.... Wrench kevin stein ps: the H is nearing completion, too. Need to decal (serial numbers one skin, and I'm reusing another)

Looking good lloyd! You make a new template for these??? As to renaming, don't forget the RAF gave the name "Mustang" to that North American Wonder!! And 'Catalina' to the PBY, iirc. TBF/TBM = Tarpon F6F = Gannet A-20 = Boston B-34 = Hudson some other I can't remember... Wrench kevin stein ps: how come the Brits always come up with such cool names?? Merlin, Griffon, Spitfire ...

Your Favorite Real Aircraft and Why?
Wrench replied to Dave's topic in Military and General Aviation
To me, if depends on what era your pointing to..WW2? Korea? Nam? Modern?? Broken down by the above criteria, P-51D F-86 F-4 F-15 All time, single favorite, would have to be Phantom. Wrench kevin stein -
Here's 2 realy easy ways to find out.... 1) open the data ini for the aircraft in question, fing the "InternalGuns" section and look for EjectShell= ; it'll either be true or false. If true, it gives the location of ejection port. 2) fly the aircraft in question, using the F6 outside view, roll your camera under the plane, and fire the guns. If they eject the spent casing, then they do. How hard can the be, and what IS the real point??? You should be in the cockpit, hosing those mf's down, not worring about if the casing are fallling out Wrench kevin stein

View File F-89C, 74th FIS Skin and Ini Pak F-89C Scorpion 57th FIS Skin and Ini Update Pak for SF, WoV & WoE This little package will give you an revamped skin, based off Volksjager's original, with -yet again!- some updated inis. (sorry about that...see "Other Notes" below for more details) -- Please Note: this skin is designed to replace the skin folder marked "1" in your original install -- All the skin bmps have been repainted (from new templates created by me from the original bmps), new decals have been added for the serial, 'buzz', and individual aircraft numbers for 25 birds. This skin represents aircraft from the 74th FIS, 23rd FIW, as deployed as part of the Alaska Air Command, during the mid-1950s. I've even added the wingwalks I forgot before, some staining, and various stenciling around the aircraft Newly updated data and loadout inis are included. These reflect changes to the unguided HVAR rockets, of which you'll be getting a new one (similiar to what I recently did for the MiG-17PF, PF(SP-16) and F-89D). So, be prepared to use the weapons editor, yet again!!! This is the last of the original skins to be updated. We can now move on to other things! == You MUST also have the latest weapons pak installed.== Happy Landing!
