  1. I obviously have small hands/short fingers or something but with the X36 stick I find that if I'm comfortable up the top of the stick then my hand is above the rest & unsupported & not best placed for the pinky- shame that the extension on the X45 wasn't retrofittable. The CH Fighterstick fits me better & has more hat/castle switches so ultimately more commands on the stick plus it looks a bit more realistic.
  2. Well, I have a CH Products Fighterstick/Pro Throttle/Pro Pedal setup & I've said it many times but I prefer the CH stick & the Saitek throttle (rotaries, button placement etc.). Along with the review X52 Pro is coming a set of Saitek Pedals so it'll be interesting for me to see how they all compare. I suspect that my ideal is an X52 with the internal improvements of the Pro but without the additional MFD features (but we'll see if I find a use for those) & the price rise. Oh & something else for you (& 531_Ghost)
  3. Interesting link, I never knew that Seymour Powell did the exterior design. I must admit that I'm keeping an eye cocked to see how long the Cougar goes on for. I know that they just released Vista drivers/software for it but it seems to me that TM is going to be an also ran soon & we will be left with CH & Saitek for mass market HOTAS. There will still be cheap generic sticks available, Logis will still fail after 3 months plus a few small production/megabuck boutique setups. Btw I don't know if you know but Saitek have apparently had a few unsolicited approaches enquiring about buying them out? They've appointed a company to investigate their options.
  4. Unfortunately I neither (yet) have an X52 or am playing LOMAC. Probably the best thing to do is to go to www.saitekforum.com. Once you have registered a lot more of the forum will become visible & some user there should be able to walk you through the config. if you can't find an answer in an existing post. It is however, possible that the programmable drivers haven't fully installed properly.
  5. Streak, have you tried removing the EEPROM? Interesting comments though - my X36 USB is still going strong & the X45 in many ways looked to me as a slight backward step for the user. Unfortunately it's no longer supported by the latest Saitek drivers/software (along with my P8000) so won't be able to use the additional features that they are implementing. Saitek are meant to be sending me an X52 Pro for review so I should be able to give you a direct X36>X52 Pro comparison if you can hang on.
  6. Welcome to CA. Have you actually enabled the LOMAC profile on the X52? If so, did the little icon in the system tray turn green?
  7. actually I do find the whole post mildly amusing - I guess it depends upon your culture & sense of humour. Indeed so can we knock it off please. They do look good & if someone wants to buy them or not then that's their choice not anybody else's.
  8. I don't believe it - I'm sure that you'll find something that needs tinkering
  9. Originally it was meant to be using the IL-2 game engine. If they are no longer using that what are they using, have they developed their own?
  10. Gennadich's WW1 Knights Of The Sky
  11. mouse over the user name in the lh column of a post & you should see a dropdown arrow - 1 of the choices is "send message"

  13. FE probably has a better tweaked game engine for props at the moment than the others but eventually the others will get the same via patches.
  14. actually all who served in the British army after July 1, 1997, have been given citizenship rights. & the UK still gets 100s of applications for every place available. It's all a bit complicated though largely because it also has to take into account the agreement between India & the UK on Ghurka pay/conditions etc. when the Gurkha regiments were divided between the 2 - the UK can't just do things unilaterally. I've been in the same barracks with them on a couple of occasions - they do a mean curry but you don't pick a fight with them!
  15. TK hasn't yet implemented it. Some moddders iirc designed ac with it as part of the model & assigned it an animation(?) linked to a command.
  16. welcome to CA, Shashman. have a look at http://www.simhq.com/_air/air_055a.html (oh & remember that the B-52 wasn't a flyabe originally which is why no sight as stock)

  18. They are worth buying as long as your games support multiple controllers (or you are using all CH products devices in which case they can be made to appear as 1 device for games that don't) & imo you already have a stick & throttle first. What is your current controller setup? The 2 "mass market" ones commonly available are the CH Products Pro pedals & the Saitek. The CH pedals are thought by many to be a bit narrow but are solid & of course a sensible choice if you are using other CH controllers as you only need to run 1 programming utility. Reviews of the Saitek e.g. http://www.simhq.com/_technology2/technology_104a.html suggest that they may be a bit better ergonomically & of course if you are already using other Saitek controllers then they are the sensible choice too.
  19. The RAF also has some F.3 airframes converted to a SEAD type role (similar to ECR or USAF Wild Weasels) - we had the need, some spare airframes & it has a longer loiter capability than the GRs. You won't hear too much about them though similar to the R.1 Nimrod variant.
  20. Shame, if you're talking to him again say thanks for all his past efforts. Who knows maybe 1 day he'll be in the mood again.
