  1. I'm glad the NJ State Police and the Palisades Interstate Police caught this reckless loser. He was being investigated for the murder of his former girlfriend. http://video-embed.nj.com/services/player/bcpid1950981419001?bctid=4632451413001&bckey=AQ~~,AAAAPLMILBk~,Vn8u6tPOf8Us2eD8W1ez5Zw-Ss_6Anfe

  2. I'm running the 353.30 drivers and have absolutely zero issues. My GTX750 ti is also a vast improvement over my prior GTS250, both in terms of frame rate and temperature. Whereas I was running as low as 16-19 fps over the stock Iceland terrain with the 250 (while flying over Iceland itself), I am now rarely dipping below 30-35 fps at the exact same resolution, and more often than not averaging the maximum frame rate (of 60 FPS) with V-sync switched on, at 1680 x 1050.
  3. To all my friends here at Combatace, a Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families.
  4. Interesting. Reminds me of this little model by Russ.
  5. Either the sound file that you're using doesn't meet the game's requirements (it must be monaural), or the naming convention.that you're using is wrong. It should be "windsoundname="
  6. Only events that are listed in the associated .dll file will work (and even then, some events have been nothing more than placeholders since the inception of the series. Bomb release and the missile in flight sounds are two of the latter) . One cannot just "invent" sound events and expect them to work. Also, you do not have to add engine, windsound, gear, air brakes, afterburner, or tiretouch sounds to the soundlist. Just call them out from the model's data.ini
  7. That's OK. After a week of extended and double shifts, I forgot to clock out one afternoon. It's a non-issue, since I have proof (emails sent during the shift) to support the fact that I was working, so my supervisor will simply add the hours to the next pay period. I used to good for being up for 36+ hours with only a few power naps to keep me alert. That was when I was in my 30s and 40s and running charter boats. I also once drove for 18 hours and 1100 miles straight with only short meal and potty breaks (all taken whenever the car needed to be fueled) I doubt that I can do that now.
  8. LOL, didn't Zer0_Stinko once threaten people with lawsuits for using their "work" at one point? I mean, threaten them in advance, before any of "his" work was even released? It would be quite fitting if someone sued him for piracey.
  9. This was taken by "Jet Ski Brian" who has his own YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/jetskibrian1 It's a cold front crossing lower Chesapeake bay, near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel. Or, is it actually an image taken while he was seeking refuge from Khan Noonien Singh in the Mutara nebula?
  10. That's a mod that I created for that video, I've since added Photon Torpedoes, as well I will find that FM and upload when I get a chance.....and with my present work schedule, that may even be sometime before the end of this decade!
  11. The NCC-1701 has been available for at least the last five years, as part of FastCargo's "Secret Intercept" mission pack.
  12. Gee Dave, he suggested an exercise ball, not an MRI machine. or a scrap yard electromagnet.
  13. 15K? No big deal . Extendng the El Faro's course line towards Puerto Rico, it would have eventually crossed over the Puerto Rico trench, where its deepest part (The Milwaukee deep), has been recently sounded to 28,560 feet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puerto_Rico_Trench
  14. It's an entry that has to be added to the "AIDATA" section of each and every flight model, like so: [AIData] MinAIQuality=Veteran MaxAIQuality=Ace
  15. Working on navigation and hull lights, disruptor locations, and the photon torpedo effect. I'm trying to stay within TOS canon on the latter, and want to avoid making the effect "too large". I can increase it in size a bit...what do you guys think?
  16. It also depends on the skill level setting that you use for your flight, and for the enemy. I set the skill levels of my aircraft FMs to a minimum of "veteran". That helps, but does not completely resolve the issue. Likewise, running into an enemy flight that is setup that way can be a bit exciting
  17. Well, they appear to have found the El Faro, in 15,000 feet of water: http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2015/10/wreck_of_cargo_vessel_owned_by_nj_shipping_firm_be.html#incart_river_home
  18. All velocities in the series are expressed in meters/sec, all altitudes in meters, all terrain offsets in meters, and all weights are in kilograms.
  19. I fondly recall an MP session that Dave and I flew, just after WOE was released from Beta, round about the Spring of 2006. We had added several additional aircraft models and weapons, cloned our installs (very important with addons) and flew a co-op mission, where we were flying Eagles and defending strike aircraft (If I remember correctly, they were A-10s). Anyway, we encountered a flight of the as then unreleased Mirage Factory MiG-29As, covering another flight of MiG-23s that was bouncing the strike package I killed a brace of MiG-23s in quick secession, only to hear Dave calling for help, telling me that there were "a whole bunch" of MiG-29s on his tail, and would I very much mind getting them off of him . I "looked up", and saw Dave in a rolling scissors with three Fulcrums on his tail. I killed two of them, and Dave managed to push the last one out in front of him, and killed him with guns. That was probably the most fun I ever had in MP
  20. But, I don't like SPAM!
  21. Interesting episode of Nova, including some speculation on what happened to the Scorpion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaaI_Cz2qv4

  22. Video card. You are currently using your system's onboard graphics, and as you've discovered, it does't quite cut the mustard. Given the current prices of such things, I'd suggest (at a minimum) a 2 GB GeForce 750ti, or better.
  23. The sure fix is, unfortunately, a more capable graphics adapter.
