One of the things i feel more concerning about this is the cost of keeping a time without pilots training in aircraft operations. They could have exchanges with friendly navies, but to me, that particular point seemed worse than the capability gap caused by delays in delivering the ship.

Well, put to think about it, the feature controlling the size of aircraft and aircraft carrier compatibility, it could be great if there was an additional option like "VTOL" for landing ships or VSTOL carriers. Might be worth for making the Tarawas able to carry Harriers without having Skyhawks or Corsairs on deck

Capun did it, it is on his site only, so you need to apply, be polite and patient. Doesn´t work perfectly on me, however, it tears the landing gear as i take off. Their Midway or Coral Sea did, however, catapult me to Mach 1. Those models have not yet been adapted to SF2, let alone SF2NA. Cangas (FRPignon) is working on it and it looks excellent so far, give him time to finish it.

Enough dreaming. Time to fly for real...

Great for you! Pursue that all the way. Dreams may not pay as much as some conservative, responsible decisions, but what do we live for, after all? -
A Navy buddy of my dad was aboard with his recently widowed father. When they were on the hull, the 80 year old man told him to jump and leave him there, as he had used up his life already. Only guy i know who threw his old man overboard out of love, he would later appear on the news ranting about all the incompetence. And one of the 4 year old pupils of my mother was on the ship, she candidly told "We were lucky to get down at Rome, the captain was mad and sunk the boat later"

He should have starred Gran Torino. And told how he got shot in the ass in Korea in RL. Hard to be so cool yet down to Earth

The Ukranians are responsible for a plane shot down by Russians over Russian held territory. Putin´s word is to be believed as when No Russian troops liberated Crimea and annexed it to Russia. Because Putin´s regime is the state-of-the-art of honesty and justice. If somebody tries to feed me that bullshit, it is like calling me a retard. There is a rational limit to respecting other opinions. And even then, we, the corrupt Europeans, don´t jail or persecute dumbasses who try to sell that crap.

Our mountain troops still use, and don´t intend to replace their mules. Indeed, when they bred more than they needed the German Army got to buy some of them. I personally agree that mules are a better solution than what DARPA got so far, but i guess they will eventually find something really useful. Hell, we still had the 22nd Signals Pidgeon Regiment a couple of years ago.

The Germans are certainly doing great, however...Argentine got Messi and the Pope...Now, i don´t know who will be the most obnoxious if getting the cup, we will have to take them both as Europeans and Spanish-speaking. I guess we deserve it, our team was overconfident, overstretched and didn´t recover from the shock of Netherlands screwing us around. To be honest, i wanted the Brazilians to win only not to have them rioting like it is 1917, but it was smoother than i had expected.

I think Chengdu J-7s could be an inspiration. Larger double delta wings, only foldable, and perhaps the smaller intake, along with a decent gun armament and short range IR missiles, for weight and visibility concerns. And keep the canards like the Ye-6T and Ye-8. It will look weird, and not be as capable as a Phantom, but you won´t be fighting cruise ASM armed supersonic bombers, either, and can keep it under GCI. Some of those with Aphid missiles can provide a very credible threat to an alpha strike, just like some soviet equivalent of the Crusader. Having a PF may be pushing it a bit too much, and while the GDR Air Force may have loved the PF, it was considered awful by the Egyptians, and the VPAF had to use them only for hit and run attacks, wich was the same they did with F13s under GCI.

Indeed, it has allways been surprising how bad they perform. But the Raptor never did much better, look at Transformers, Hulk, et cetera. Btw, wasn´t it after Hulk, the first and AFAIK the only movie to feature the RAH-66, that the Comanche got cancelled?

Good news! I´ve been itching to go there, i guess it is a must see for any eventual travel i make to the US

I´ve had a nice read on snipers by an Osprey book, and i found it a fascinating world. Been diging around for more info, and i noticed that one of the things that seems to be taken into account in the last years around the weapons designs is the use of a free floating barrel, that is, a heavy barrel wich is only in contact with the reciever so it can vibrate freely for more consistent grouping. Specifically, i found the XM2010 quite interesting Of all the sniper weapon systems used by the Spanish Armed Forces, only the Barret made 50 cal rifles have it (M95 and M107), however the Accuracy International Artic Warfare doesn´t seem to, being rested in the stock much like Remington derived rifles in US service (M24 and M40). However, the AIAW design seems to be considered the best kind of rifle in the market...anybody has some opinion on the issue? I have no idea how important may be different factors with regards to precision and practical use of any SWS

The intelligence level is an absolute game changer in naval operations. I went through a full Northern Sabre campaign with the good old "underdog", the F-4N, without having to face cruise missile attacks because i shot down every soviet recce in the area in CAPs. I just blinded them out. I doubt i could have defended the CVBG from a cruise missile attack with a Phantom.

Yes, it looks like it was right on top of it, but it is said that it seems so because of the zoom. The aproaching aircraft saw the other one crossing the runway, they would have made it, but there should have been a safety margin and the pilot decided to pull up. Really somebody is or needs to be chewed.

from ground control they say that they were 2 miles away while the other aircraft was crossing the other runway...it seems like pushing safety for speed too far still
