  1. cool thing about western militaries is our ability to make it up on the fly to get the job done! (not to bash others, "western forces are what I have personal experience with and even the Polish, Hungarians and Czechs I've dealt with were moving to a more western model at teh time of working with them)
  2. two cent observation, given my prediliction for airliner eye candy the game will load any aircraft in the install, stock or mod. But it does it when it damn well pleases, even if you set parking chance to 100%. also, most spaces are set for stock aircraft, which can lead to bigger planes merging imagine these guys joined at teh waist. it actually happens alot, and i usually pause for my screenies and have to manuever around to get such oddities out of the shot. sorry, for the just explained reason no example shots at this time so when setting up parking spaces, take the dimensions of say a C-5 and assign length and wingspan values for that to any parking spots you want to see large aircraft on. but be forewarned, the game will randomly select something (be it a KC-135 or an A-37) to go there (within the allowed nations) and jury is still out on if a minimum wingspan value would work (there is a maximum wingspan entry in the ini) NOTE: after rereading before posting i realize Menrva was talking about 3d party airfields not aircraft. but the parking info for the ini could still be useful so still posting
  3. also, most stock stuff gets credited to TK if you want to name a person (his show overall) or TW if you wanna keep it general
  4. tonight on ini dancing with the stars, precision adjustments to 4 decimal places (and a random 180 degree rotation to get it to work) or "if the fan blades arent in the model i'll just sticker them in myself!"
  5. meh, they land em without one of the wings. a canopy is nothing! seriously though good news that the crew is ok and bird got down safe
  6. no prob on the links, its one of the things taking some time is the column with link to latest mod
  7. well dammit add another item to teh list? there will be a bare metal skin hopefully (as well as a T-43) workin on it boss!!! that new F-4G mentioned will be eagerly awaited too. question, do you have Excel? thats what my aircraft list is in right now JSF_Aggie, you know i released a pretty comprehensive F-4N set for both the DLC and Storm's version? it would be a good jump off point, though it could use some touch up on BuNos and CAG birds within the run of skins (but I included all users from BEELINE completion to retirement in mid 80s as set skins, as well as Eagle Claw skins).

  9. just like the question states. leading off, i hope to -continue low level work on ODS upgrades (my part mainly in scouring the DL section for newer and better versions of already included mods, as well as some upgrade of whats already there) -continue with SAC B-52s (G model in particular, hoping for a partner on the H models) reskinning for the late 70s through end of SAC(1992) era -fix up the B-1s and FB-111s for SAC -minor tweaks to the B-52D, F and G for Vietnam, as well as minor tweaks for the white belly BUFFs to incorporate unit badges rather than just the SAC badge on both sides -repackaging some of the appropriate airliners as a USAF nationed Civil Reserve Airlift Fleet (CRAF) squadron for ODS -747-100/200, and possibly renewed DC-10s if a lil bird comes through (no pressure, no worries for the one that told me bout it) -finally, regardless of new trijet, new KC-10 skins using my current modus operandi (tga camo) with a focus on ODS not too much i hope, esp with a job keeping me busier than before and trying to learn how to land in a new sim w/o breaking at least one of the landing gear who else wants to give a sneak peek into their plans?
  10. ok dude, where you been hiding all this time! that looks awesome! any plans for a mix civil-military field? askin for this dude i know that plays with airliners
  11. indeed, that was a flashback from the past also try making some jersey Barriers (pics will have to be later unless Viggen beats me to it) for surrounding
  12. View File Operation Desert Storm Skinpack and Updates for B-52G_89 Operation Desert Storm Skinpack and Updates for B-52G_89 This Mod will add ODS skins for the B-52G_89 found here some weapon, ini, effects and sound edits are also included to enhance the operation of this classic bomber Included: Updated and reskinned B-52G_89, Decal set that puts multiple camoflages on each skin and at least a dozen Historical aircraft with Unit markings and nose art, updated weapons common to that version of the aircraft, a fake gunpod pylon for use with dual MERs, and updated sounds and effects. Historical Notes: Although you can fly em all, the only accurate skin to fly within ODS would be the Jeddah skin. The others flew from off of the various Iraq terrains available. Bomb missions markings not included as these are set to represent the beginning of the campaign. While many other weapons can be carried, the improved ones are the ones carried during Desert Storm, and strategic weapons (nukes) While ALCM pylon is missing (more below), it only affects the Senior Surprise mission from Barksdale AFB (16-17 Jan 1991). The other Bomb Wings did not employ CALCMs Installation: unzip. put all folders EXCEPT Templates into desired mod folder. Allow overwrites as needed. Known Issues: While there is currently a new Hound Dog pylon selectable in the download menu, there is not an ALCM pylon. While some sources state that the CALCMs were carried on the stub pylons, I find that not too likely.but it is how it is carried in game at this time. Either I will learn Blender and create one in the future, or a volunteer would be welcomed to create one (likely a faster route). But at time of initial release (24/12/2018) the cruise missiles are carried on the stubs. 15. its a start. you will need some improvising on the corrugated building though. if i was doing it off the provided pics, i would do alot of cut and paste from the displayed end of the corrugated to make the longer segment, then cut and paste doors from the the little gray unit. also just blue out the placard for the building number, will look better and not with a blurry white zone. i am not certain if you are intending the above as one skin, or peices of two as they are irl. finally, much can be done with manipulating exising images. but sometimes you gotta improvise and rework things to fit better. thats what really builds ones Photoshop/GIMP skills!
  16. no worries. it is more to give you a small sample of the variety of housing we joes have used over the years. and the strategic importance of Kuwaiti McDonalds
  17. that will be excellent for an OEF and OIF update. some pics for further reference transient tents these were more common on the smaller bases (at least in my experience) nicer version of what i stayed in in Iraq. due to Hurricane Katrina, some references to FEMA reject trailers were made food joints at Ali Al Salem AB, Kuwait never managed to get a McRib until stateside though barbershop, PX and MWR not shown Kandahar Airfield, 2009 bunker (where a great many cigarettes were smoked waiting for the all clear from a rocket attack) my home for about six months or so (the others looked very similar view walking towards the DFAC or Boardwalk, depending on if you veered left or right at the road something one of my joes tried getting to run again. not sucessful, but he tried me, hard at work not the greatest sample of pics (especially the home copies) but a small sampling of life inside the wire
  18. good info to know. next second monitor ( i run off laptops) is likely gonna be a 32 to 42 in TV so a lil different than the current 17 in screen or 24 in monitor. Hi Skipper, an Merry Christmas to ya and your family
  19. as said on FB try looking at Xidax. used a chunk of VA backpay to get myself a laptop (i7-6700K with overclock to 4.0GHz, 32 GB RAM, 2TB HDD space, 17.1in screen, nVidia GTX1070 and around $3200 3 years or so ago) so went almost all out. but for a desktop their mid range systems are very capable and not too bad (again esp. if your thinking alienware) https://www.xidax.com/desktops and win10 isn't too bad when you get used to it. i keep my old win7 system as a backup and actually am getting a little frustrated when i fire it up occasionally due to things i've grown used to in win10 finally i goofed and have the latest update (1803) thats supposed to zonk alot of programs. SF2, GIMP, and Civilization V on Steam work fine so far.
  20. proper barracks (or dorms on USAF bases) and office buildings would be awesome for all current airbases, rather than the rows of quoanset hut wannabes currently in game. I n my own experience Bragg (except for 19th Replacement in the late 90s), Pope, Schweinfurt, Frankfurt, Bliss, Benning, Lee all look very different than rows of huts. for that matter, Kandahar and Bagram were more like construction site trailers than curved huts. even rows of other buildings would make the airbase eyecandy massively pop. and that is an awesome amount of detail for the inside of a control tower!
  21. gotta crawl before you walk, walk before you run. looks good and looking forward to future projects from you
  22. what did you not read my signature on the bottom of my posts mandatory screenie, or a little plane for Durasoul
  23. Triangle K goes to war... in an alternate timeline meanwhile at Keflavik....
  24. its already been ongoing a few days. one would think it would move a little faster given holiday shopping season tho (and here i was hoping to pick up First Eagles 2...)
  25. aint nobody got time fo dat seriously though, i usually get a ballpark location from the lodviewer, as most of my projects start with blanking out the main skin in the first place. i say ballpark, as i usually have to tweek some from what i get in the viewer, but i also tend to be goofy and get a measurement AFTER twirling it around to look at the skin. fine tuning i do the old fashioned way: fire up game, make notes, adjust, repeat. remember its a game every 5th adjustment and fly around.
