  1. you really need to get this tool it does so much wonders for skinners (and now even shows tgas for decallers like me) and save alot of time from the old "make a change, fire game up, make correction, rinse wash repeat". just click on what youre checking once again and presto! change is displayed in 5 seconds
  2. nuclear testing (big thanks to russouk2004 and Kjakker!)
  3. file folder can go the historical designation, in the drop down in game i would have the yield showing (for those that actually just fly this sim rather than research for hours on end!) still wondering how to delay the explosion. it would be nice to fly lower than 20000 ft and survive this thing!
  4. only if you two are related and not in the state of Alabama sizes seemed dead on for the weapon, but the bomb bay is a bit smallish. i'd say easier to shrink the bomb a little than to redo the BUFF! awesome on getting a chute on this bad boy yakarov, with the Hound Dog keep in mind a few things: they were camoflaged in the 70s (little skin consideration) and the crews often used the jets on them to generate extra thrust on take off (topping off the missile tanks in flight) general weapons question: can the arming time value be used to delay teh explosion and still work AFTER the weapon hits the ground? if so what would be a good value to enter (thinking ArmingTime=15.00000) Kjakker, are you looking to name this thing something other than B28FI_1.1MT? or if you want to be all historical B28FI(Mod1)
  5. heres the data.ini as mostly done. gotta get to the loadout.ini but for a historical fit its not gonna take too much. only 3 station groups unlike the G and used the HSAB for conventional (and ALCM) rather than the Hound Dog pylon and i beam. also the Hs had a nearly total nuclear commitment in the 80s. the ability to load dumb iron and some guided missiles was there, just not used until the Gs were almost all gone B-52H_88_data.7z Russouk, heres the fit within the bay maybe a 1/3 of a meter shaved off the front if you have to rework the model to incorporate a chute should get a fit if not, well not too many peek in the bay in flight do they? back at KJakker, Quail would be awesome, but is outside the scope here. Im doing G_89 and H_88 for now. but am wanting to come back and do the tall tails and G/H post Nam (y'all should know my particular modding fetishes by now ). just gonna take a break after these to pull some Switchblades and them Bones update heres the loadout as stands. B61 is a place filler until this is completed, and not much conventional due to the Hs being primarily nuclear alert. added some in tho as it is a game and maybe a commo van doesnt need its own 1.45 Megaton device B-52H_88_LOADOUT.7z both inis considered 90% done
  6. russouk, thank you very much sir! its still a little jammed on the inside, but that seems a bomb bay limitation as the weapon dimensions are correct.(talking with SRAMs and bombs as was carried in the 80s) this weapon was commonly used in laydown mode (the big cannister on back is a parachute). would a chute be possible to slow this puppy at low level? if not what there is is excellent thank you for the quick work on it either way
  7. good luck with your medical, i certainly know that things can take quite a bit out of you
  8. that would certainly do, does it come parachute retarded (no, seriously) effects and all else i wasnt too worried about, there is a pointy nose version here in house, i was just gonna apply the data from the old to the new lod. i can even finish skinning it unless you prefer just lack the ability to make lods (esp with an intent to release in an actual two weeks) trying to fix the load outs on the late 80s Buffs, turns out SRAMs werent carried outside much after the 70s. but the bombs werent pointy either
  9. you may want to reduce the opacity of the numbers and lettering (for a grey skin i recommend around 40 to 50%, 70 for a full viz) otherwise its looking awesome. a different replacement to the Argus
  10. aint seen an exact match(granted i spent about 5 mins looking, as opposed to the couple hours a night ive been spending hunting down Buff nose art images), but the color version should work with a bunch of PS time spent on it my search also found an all black version of that (looked like a display from a plastic model in progress), which could also work after greying out. time to knock the rust off them artist skills!
  11. or just get a large original image to work with in the first place not sure how you do it in PS, but in Gimp i would use desaturate and pick the grayscale that matches closer, along with dropping the opacity of the level, at least for the regular birds generic question/suggestion, have you thought about doing a tga weathering pattern? make like a dozen patterns and then assign them numbers, so each bird in the squadron looks a little different. CAG bird will be pristine of course edit: ok, in my quickie search i can see where you can get the above fine, but the unit name on he scroll is being a bitch. make your own maybe?
  12. given all the effort i put into Buffs recently (and plans for Bones and Switchblades) it would be cool to take off from KI Sawyer or Pease and fly all the way to Russia watching with some interest
  13. does anyone have a proper one of these on hand? the lod is like so on all the in game B28/Mk28s i can find but what i need for inside a Buff is this anyone have a proper nuclear weapon, or can think of a different weapon lod that would work as a stand in? heres another pic that shows the difference in variants
  14. lots of great shots in here lately. sadly mine are only a wish for wings that work why not Minot?
  15. and whatever the Navy and McAir opt to call it, the squids and jarheads shall christen it the Chiquita......
  16. in other news, what is the z storage terrain?(the joys of screenshotting one's own system....) next project released, the real read me is gonna be titled "dont bother", while the readme file will be filled with insults from The Princess Bride
  17. also observed, you keep spelling terrains as terrians hopefully this is just an empty posting, but if you still have issues after creating a folder in the right location, do check that
  18. if he doesnt make the $25000, would he settle for a StrikeFighters:Civil?
  19. back to Battle Creek after a visit amongst the Vaarks..
  20. the research for this hobby can be as intense as the modding. have you tried seeing if there are social media pages for the retired Soviet pilots? i have been getting some headway on Facebook with pages for the units that flew particular aircraft in the past, and wonder if there was any Cryllic equivilent
  21. back to the models debate, if he set up a fully functional exporter thats not restricted to Max2009, that would get alot more people making models. Hell, Mue made an exporter for Blender, but it doesnt allow animations iirc and if you are in school or have a kid in school its not hard to get a student license for Max upto three years back (figured that out in 2013 sooooo)
  22. sometimes its easy, and sometimes i want to complain about age test: who likes Styx songs? ok, its Renegade, realized the word is abit small ok gotta stop being silly and let this guy take it over for the evening
  23. as im looking tail should be fine. me thinks its all them individual decals on the fuselage that are gettin the attention of the two Kevins...... if it were mine, i'd put everything that stays the same with the unit (insignia, unit name, safety markings) as one tga, the Buno as another, and nose number as another. that keeps you at 3. also, still make the big one thats the same a level 2 decal (serial numbers). that way if you have say a CAG bird with full color insignia you just have MAIN.tga then MAIN000.tga as the cag bird
  24. indeed. if you have a lot to put on there, make a bigger tga with the bulk of what you are displaying in the same image. you can position it fairly close to center, and make fine tune adjustments within the space of the tga itself. if there is overlapping meshes (one decal goes on fuselage and forwardFuselage) the same position will work for both meshes mytai did this on his Phantoms, and i do it on most of my jumbo projects.
