has anyone converted the OA-4M for SF2? or does it still need to be converted from Gen 1?

sounds good, the post 1000 could possibly help campaigners and many folks prefer skiining the markings on that decalling. However, i will again call out to the Vietnam and Isreal buffs out there for some advice on units. focusing on stock aircraft but i could likely fill most of the space USAF/NATO. wrapping up that prob tomm night then moving on to RAF and the Luftwaffe. i'm willing to plug em in but my area of interest/expertise is Europe so it is what i naturally gravitate to.

if you were smart, he cant lock out too much as you can always go back to an old patch and stay there with 3rd party add ons. stuff you like, without as much of the headache. but no, it shouldn't be like that.

Jedi, if i remember right Reagan mused near the end of the cold war that it would take something like an alien invasion to actually make everyone in the world band together. even then, if you think about it, it's for the purpose of fighting something else!

"It's in your nature to destroy yourselves." yea we're be nice and enlightened now. but war and disease have been what keep the human population down over the years given there are no predators to do it for us. with winding both down the population will spool up until the BIG bug and/or war come along and knock the human race into the next dark age. not a fan of war mind you (actually quite sick of it after 4 rounds of being target practice for the muslim artillery corps) but it the grand scheme of human affairs it has had it uses. thats not even going into how it spurs human development along( look at the advances going on in brain injury studies right now courtesy of IEDs). sorry going back to my morning coffee now and lose some of this cheery optimism.

damn but i agree with the Army bit. typically AVN Bn's dont have specific markings just UNITED STATES ARMY on the tails. woulda been nice though..... could possibly be useful as a tool for campaigns goin over 1000 but will rethink the utility of it overall. BTW offtopic anyone heard from Dave lately? this was kinda his pot of grits to start with before we all got in and stirring.

wife's acer was good til kids spilled Coke on it.... SquareTrade did fix it on warranty but my knuckleheaded self for got to make a recovery disk. whole OS gone with the hard drive. getting a recovery disc from Acer but still kinda sore about it.

I'm partial to HP/Compaq my self and if your not looking top end they are fairly inexpensive esp. Presario. but they still allow you to work the game fairly well(with exception of NA possibly, got my new one just before it came out) how fancy do you want it is the big first question? and are you looking to buy in a store or online?

again also what about the training? USAF tactics since the heyday of the Eagle have been to kill em off at a distance. in the 80's right after Vietnam much attn was paid to dogfighting but every Eagle pilot would tell you his first choice was to hit the Migs way out there and NOT get in the phonebooth. i think most other western AF's expect to get up close before realizing that they'll have to go weapons hot and so train more for close in ACM. full on hostile encounter, i can't help but think that thrust vectoring will give the Raptor an edge if the pilot can stay awwake and keep his/her head. my bigger concern would be with the limited numbers, seeing an adversary with red stars on their wings throw a few squadrons of say Floggers up to catch the Amraam's then, sneak Flankers in after the missles are depleted. Either some Raptors will go down, or be forced to disengage causing the USAF to give up local air superiorety for the first time in decades........ but hey 187 is a fine enough number for DOD.

framerates definately better. was rocking 3-6 fps overland in iceland now seeing 13-15 fps. about like my old Compaq i got rid of in February. thats at altitude, ACM. bout the same for low level strike against heavily defended airfield in Germany. overall after a few hops in my Phavorite plane not noticing any issues.
