caught this after the other post i dont know what the current process is to get a new account. i also dont know how many new accounts are being created a month. but it does appear that some folks arent listening, and from outside observer position, it feels like alot are ignoring the rules (and creating posts like the one we're talking in). maybe we're wrong, maybe these are 1% of the new members and not 75%; you know that better than us. but i know older members are getting tired of them all the same, probably especially Flanker562 who is the one i typically see explain why they cant download

its not. my suggestion was just to weed out the hundred "why cant i download" posts we seem to get a month from said people unable to read. eyes can skim over a screen, and a person can say ok. often doesnt mean they actually took in what they read. if they have to type those words for membership tho, then they might actually realize what those words are. (bonus, no typing from them, no access to complain) i tagged Erik because its his site, and any major change winds up costing him funds or time (or both). but there's been a big uptick in that particular type of post this year, and its been irking alot of old hands round here who usually are otherwise very chill (yeah im callin you out Meusli ) i doubted it would be taken up, but i still suggested it. cause the idea wouldve been stillborn if it stayed in my head

main reason i suggest writing it out to get in rather than a check box is that honestly 99.99% of the population checks the box without actually reading the EULA making them write it out (in theory) makes them actually read the words and those words have meaning having said that, i would await the next post saying "i cant download" even after they write the terms out............ (my way of saying i dealt with soldiers for 20 years without actually saying that )

@Erik, maybe new accounts have to do a questionaire, skipping multiple choice and writing out the answer of what is required to download mods? disable copy and paste if able to might solve the problem of new members making this complaint if they have to actually write out what they need to do. like some FB groups do to screen members

it would be wicked. but you as much as many other modders know the game limits that restrict modern 21st century warfare. not saying its impossible

well, it was Grafenwhoer for me. but we were too far out in the boonies to make that practical... meanwhile, the old steam engines managed to make it all the way to AMC Gray before retiring. well, 3 or 4 anyhow

so do several of us but the ones with knowledge of how to set up a campaign dont have as much interest or energy. those with the interest dont have the knowledge or time much of the interest on the fan base tends to Vietnam, WW3 in Germany (or Iceland) and/or WW2. so thats where alot of (current) modder energy goes

yup sounds about right he was also interested in a bit for fixin Straight of Hormuz, but there wasnt much interest. i took a look at it, and either it would need to be reset to now (mid 2020s) or totally revamped to account for stuff that wasnt in service in mid 2010s (like X-47B, and honestly the F-35s)

IFit didnt happen immediately, then it would once once side was losing bad enough and called on their superpower patron. theirs been folks that have worked on campaigns for the Kurils and Korea, but then dropped out of touched. for a non traditions (tanks rolling down the Fulda Gap) ww3 scenario, you should cast your eye to Asia. Big enough and important enough to ignite the big blow up, but not in Europe. alternately, the middle east could be another good scenario, especially since it did historically get us close to the edge of nuclear conflict. a campaign that could lead to nuke deployment without ever bringing in the US/USSR in player campaign (just in the win/lose screeen at campaign end) all suggestions presume that you mean ww3 in the classic, ends with thousands of nuke missiles flying. survivors stay tuned to see if its gonna be Mad Max, Fallout or Threads.....

little late to this party, but yes, Andrea is pretty good about replying quick on FB and messenger. i've gotten permission from him to releae the F-100F here in mods, and help them out with general advice when and where i can

probably not terrain files. if crashing while a mission is loading, set you sound setting to 16 channel, normal stereo Iraq is the only terrain thats supposed to be there. there are terrain folders for the stock terrains yhou listed, but with an ini thta makes them NOT show up in game. make sure you are running this in a a clean install, that is a exe whose mod folder is empty of other things. its a stand alone mod and doesnt play well with other things if your not a fairly experienced modder.
