THE BEAGLE KENNEL A FULL COLLECTION OF ILYUSHIN IL-28 & HARBIN H-5 "BEAGLES". A "one stop shop" for the IL-28/IL-28R/H-5 with all the colour schemes for all the nations using the type. Of course some of the schemes are somewhat speculative, but, I think they are definitely useable and valid, the Pakistani beagles for example, were not in service for very long, as the aircraft were not popular in Pakistani service, also the Finnish ones, Finland only had about 3 or 4 actual airframes, and were mainly used for target towing. However, I think we can all apply a little artistic licence and imagination here. I have adjusted the aircraft a bit, ie I have added Geezers excellent RAF pilots to the crew positions, as Beagles tended to be flown in leather flying helmets rather than bone domes, I have also swapped the rear guns on the H-5's to reflect the changes done by the Chinese. Also I have upgraded the cockpits to utilise STARY's pit for the type, and enabled the RWR as well. This enables a viable bombing position and is a really nice upgrade to the aircraft. I have made the weapons for the Harbin H-5 Chinese, and included the weapons in this upload. This is an all inclusive upload, so you will need all 4 files to get the full experience !!! The first 3 files are the actual aircraft, and the "ADDONS" file contains all the sounds, pilots, weapons, guns, decals So please make sure you do use that file as well !!! All the usual shout outs to all the usual people, who keep this sim alive and kicking. AS ALWAYS......................ENJOY !!! -
I bet that CSM Caudron is awesome when built

Welcome to our (usually) happy and slightly insane miscreants. The best thing to do on starting up SF and FE, is go to the forums, and look for the help files, there is a ton of interesting, and pertinent information over there, red all that bumf first off, and that should give you a bit of a leg up on how everything works ( usually) If there is something that you cannot get your head around, as some of the info is somewhat dated, but still relevant, but if for any reason it confuses the hell out of you, do not be afraid to ask !! This is a friendly, and helpful community, very little flak or gremlins here !! Anyhow that is my two penny worth, and again welcome to our band of merry men and the occasional lady.............................................

I just did my job, no thanks are required. Someone has to do the dirty work so others dont have to .............................. PER ARDUA.

Any news?

Not a stellar idea, mixing mods would be a disaster. Swap some of the Aircraft skins maybe, but why would on wish to. -
Her Majesty would have held those same sentiments mate. She was stoical and down to Earth.

A huge part of the Heart of Britain and Her Commonwealth has passed with her. I salute you Ma'am PER ARDUA.

All good, thanks for fixing the problem mate !!

I totally understand your desire, however, I see no real way around the issue, sometimes we have to work with the tools we are given. However in this case, we are looking at a rather unique set of circumstances, where obsolete equipment is in general use when more advanced types are in general issue. I dont know how one could address this problem satisfactorily to be honest, it would be brilliant to be able to merge both FE and SF into one, however, it is not really a viable option, without huge amounts of tinkering and modification "under the hood" Unfortunately, due to TK's silly stance on this, we are not able to get to the core of the 2 sims , or rather not in enough detail, to be able to re calibrate the whole thing and make it "better" On one side of the coin, I sort of understand TK's attitude, it is his intellectual property after all, however, there are also arguments to be made that as the 2 sims are getting on in years now, and that any modification to the whole setup, would not be a financial issue for TK. But this is a long standing conversation, and one it would seem, that has no logical solution to it. Waiting for TK to extractum digitum, is a vain hope, we are still awaiting his promise of updating SF to bring it into Win 10 added compatibility, another forlorn hope methinks !!

I have flown some FE aircraft in SF, and they seemed to work ok, but not all of them will, and as you point out, the FM's are totally different. The long and short of it is, as I previously stated, whilst the idea is desirable, it is not really feasible, without huge amounts of coding and fiddling around, which is just really not worth it, especially when there are more up to date WWI sims available, such as BH&H which blows FE out of the water, not of course that I am saying FE is not worth bothering about, as that is far from the case, however, if like myself and Eagle114th are working on a new "campaign" or story line, which starts in WWI and then flows through to modern day, we are utilising both FE, and SF independently of each other. To do a full on merging of FE and SF, is a pointless and ridiculously time consuming exercise, which, considering the age of the engine, and the limitations of crossover from FE to SF, is futile. Yes things like the F12 issue are a bit irritating, but not really deal breaking in the great scheme of things, I have learned to live with it personally.

I think thiswould be a " desireable " thing too, however, as it is such a monumental task, and as of now, no one has even attempted it, I think it unlikely to ever be something attempted or completed. Pretty much everything would have to be converted to the SF engine, from the ground up, and, as FE works just fine as it stands, al be it with some restrictions, I know of no one who would be willing to undergo this process, without a large team of modders and testers to accomplish it.

Yes you can adapt FE aircraft terrains etc. To work with SF, however, the AI behaviour, and the FM of the aircraft in SF work , or are coded differently, so when you use FE aircraft etc in SF, they can act erratically, I have experienced the aircraft refusing to take off, or instead of taking off, and flying to the next waypoint, they taxi there instead. There are other issues too I expect, but I haven't explored the whole concept thoroughly as it is a pointless exercise.

F12 dont not work, I have experimented with it, and its a non starter, unfortunatley FE is not as "developed" as SF, which is a crying shame, as it is crying out for much love and attention, if they both worked off the same engine, then they could be combined, however, TK in his short sighted wisdom, has abandoned FE snd SF which is a travesty. I totally get where you are coming from with the F12 issue too, as it would be well cool if it had that option.

New Faces for First Eagles 2
Trotski replied to JulioJunqueira's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
NICE !!! -
The only "Celebrity" Pilot he did was that of Bruno Statchel. Or at least the only one I am aware of.

Yes that sweet little Macchi is often overlooked !!

I already posted a similar one a few months back, but here is my contribution............ 1. Sopwith Pup early and late versions. 2. An all new SVA . 3. Brisfit, I think everyone wants...no, needs this. 4. Roland Walfisch. 5. Bristol Scouts. 6. FE2's 7, Avro 504's all marks. I know a lot of these are available from A-Team, but most people dont have that access unfortunately.

Sort of aimed at Stephen 1918, but not specifically.
Trotski replied to Trotski's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Yeah, its a sad fact tthat there are few FE modellers, and now Geezer has unfortunately gone AWOL, the talent pool is severely limited when it comes to giving FE some much needed love. -
First Eagles, ( and post WWI) really really needs a non DAT Bristol Fighter, has any one ( and this is where I am sort of aiming it at Stephen ) got any plans, to make an all new F2B, as the DAT one, although sort of ok, isn't the best, or rather, not as good as it COULD be. a couple of versions would be nice to see, with the early engine modelled, as well as the later, and post war versions. This is a very important aircraft for the period, and is one not available to a lot of pilots, due to the Capun rules and regulations. Oh...yeah.....we NEED a Sopwith Pup too !! I unfortunately have no idea or skills when it comes to modelling the aircraft, so as with everyone else, I am reliant on you magicians of the model design mob, to please please please, make these 2 very important and relevant aircraft.
