  1. Beautiful! I'd love to make such stock-looking planning maps for my terrains, but I guess the recipe is a secret ;)
  2. Stupid me, I am still sleeping I guess, LOL! Making a package with both YF-23 and F-16 (XL if possible) makes sense, it's the same squadron after all (actually both Wizard and Sorcerer are part of the same squadron, they are just two different flights). Making a separate upload could be useful in case you'll update only one of the two skins. Your choice. According to Acepedia, it seems that Wizard uses the F/A-18C (most likely with a generic skin, Project ACES couldn't bother to add certain details in a PS2 game) during Operation Battle-Axe, but for some kind of reason they get the YF-23 and F-16 after the defection to AWWNB. Sorcerer instead uses the same aircraft, before and after the defection. Weird choice by Project ACES. EDIT: about Wizard's Hornet, just as I thought: http://acecombat.wikia.com/wiki/File:Fa18c_wizard1.png
  3. Sorry zachtan, I couldn't resist. Next time I won't spoil anything. The YF-23 is a beauty, and AFAIK there aren't so many skins for it, so go for it. I'd rather have this one than the F-16C in place of the F-16XL. Didn't dtmdragon have some kind of template? He made hi-res skins for the F-16XL a while ago.
  4. zachtan is recreating skins of the Ace Combat universe, but who knows? The only famous F-16XL I recall from Ace Combat is that of Wizard Squadron: http://acecombat.wikia.com/wiki/Wizard_Squadron
  5. Thanks for the new Tornado models! Many improvements over the original and very high quality skins! German quality indeed! To improve realism, can the "StartDefaultDate" parameter be added to the various skins? I doubt there were Tornados in Norm 2009 and Norm 87 camos during the first years of deployment.
  6. One of the greatest mods, first time I played it, it was a version for the old Wings Over Europe. My only gripe with it is that the terrain is pretty wrong, for target locations etc. The one I made is identical in dimensions (portrays the same area), but addresses such issues and was also built for ODS. I wonder if people are still interested in playing ODS; when I get the chance, I might rework the campaign files and provide a more accurate campaign.
  7. That's good to know. I usually experience crashes during loadings in my huge modded install.
  8. Haha, no way! Well, thankfully I am not from Rome, LOL!
  9. Glad it works! Enjoy the terrain, it took me years to develop it!

    Question

I remember those videos! Haha, they're so funny!
  11. This should happen since you don't have the Desert terrain from SF2, so you might have another SF2 title, like SF2E, or SF2V or SF2I. My terrain uses the stock Desert terrain files as a base. But don't worry, there is an easy fix. Inside the terrain folder, find the IraqWA.ini file, and open it with Notepad. You'll find that the referenced CatFile is the Desert.CAT. Since you don't have SF2, but some other stock terrain, enable a different CAT instead. If you have SF2E, you have the GermanyCE terrain, etc. So, double slash the Desert.CAT line and enable one of the different CAT files from the list below, according to which SF2 game you have: CatFile=..\Desert\Desert.CAT //CatFile=..\GermanyCE\GermanyCE.CAT //CatFile=..\VietnamSEA\VietnamSEA.CAT //CatFile=..\IsraelME\IsraelME.CAT I hope I have been clear enough. Just follow these simple instructions and let me know if it works.
  12. A Canadian search-and-recovery mission says it has successfully found a flight test model of a Cold War-era supersonic interceptor jet. The "Raise the Arrow" project has been searching for free-flight models of the Avro Arrow in the depths of Lake Ontario since July. Over 60 years ago, nine models were launched into the Great Lake to test their flight design. Searchers are using advanced sonar technology in the underwater hunt. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41193900

  13. You just asked for it, and now we have it on the main page. Amazing! What I have seen was a WIP, it just disappeared, but I bet Erik is still working on it as we speak. Thanks Erik, your work and care is very appreciated! And thanks for asking about it, KJakker. On the old home page layout, the list proved to be much useful.
  14. zachtan, I've sent you a PM with some surprises. Cruising the net, I found all plane skins extracted from the PS2 games: AC04, ACZ and AC5. They can be used for reference, colour choices, etc. I have no particular requests, but I think it would be great to have the Mobius F-22A and F-4E Phantom II, the Razgriz F-14A and some cool Ace Combat Zero plane skins of the enemy ace squadrons (Rot, Wizard, Sorcerer, Schwarze, etc...)
    Top notch skin, as always!

    Grun Changes

It's much closer to the Ace Combat Zero paint scheme, if not identical. Fantastic!
  16. Thanks for the update! Just FYI, "Galm" it's actually a mistranslation from Japanese to English of "Garm", the dog from Hell in Norse mythology. They corrected the name in Ace Combat Infinity.
  17. I don't remember how big is Sweden represented on such terrain. If it's just a minor portion, I'd say to keep it NEUTRAL.
  18. Well, could always be fake news. In these times, you never know. I hope it's not real, otherwise it means there are serious cases of insanity spreading in the US.
  19. I have read about it too. Also read that Italo-Americans in the Big Apple didn't take it too kindly. What a stupid, f*ckin idea.
  20. Looking forward to any other Ace Combat skins. About Grun, I am amazed, it's so close to the (Strange)real thing, even better! But, feel free to do the skins that you want! Keep up the good work!
  21. You might want to fix the description, the plane is a F-15C Eagle, not Hornet. But, since you mentioned Hornets, I am wondering about Grun squadron paint scheme. That one is so hard to do. If you manage to do it, you're a god! Garm 2, Pixy: "It's starting to come down..." Valais Air Base: "This is Base Command. Guess all you boys managed to get up. Galm 1, Galm 2, maintain present course." AWACS Eagle Eye: "Bearing 315, Belkan bombers approaching." Garm 2, Pixy: "Nobody wants to bail out into a mountain of ice. We're counting on you, flight leader!" Valais Air Base: "All units, prepare to intercept." Garm 2, Pixy: "You'd better have our pay ready and waiting!" Valais Air Base: "That's only if we both make it through this alive." Garm 2, Pixy: "Be ready to pay up. We'll be back before you know it!" So many memories...
Another Ace Combat skin! Very well made!
  22. Also, be careful not to use the old LOD. AFAIK the CF-18 available in various mod packages still uses a very old LOD, while the American and RAAF Hornets have been updated properly with high quality skins and new LODs. There was also an interesting CF-18 mod which reproduced the various upgrades the plane received during the years (much like stock SF2 aircraft, you could choose between various CF-18s, with different year span, loadouts, avionics, etc). I look forward to this new project of yours, 1977Frenchie! The CF-18 needs a proper update!
  23. I have no particular aircraft in mind, but I made a list of most of immediate post-WW2 era aircraft that are present in my huge install, both transport planes and bombers and fighters. Keep in mind that some come from other CombatACE mod packages (nothing of Crapun stuff, things like Wings Over Korea, paulopanz's complete skin packages, etc), so it's just a list to give you an idea of what might be worth checking out. Some of those planes have been released by you recently, so I do not think they need any fixes. So, feel free to do what you want with the list, there are no particular requests from me.
