  1. Just in case a stock.wav file is missing, is there any way to extract and replace it using the file extractor utility?
  2. I got this problem: I run SFP1 pretty well, without any sort of issue. The only very tedious thing i have is that the most of the times a vocal call is given, my game freezes for like 1/2 seconds. This may sound like not a big thing, but TRUST ME, since this pops up for 8 comms given out of 10, this problem turns the game into UNPLAYABLE. And also (i got no idea why and what is the correlation with comms) almost every single time i shoot down a plane or i see an explosion in front of me, this issue happens. I thought it was a setting problem, maybe a graphical one, or something related to my PC, i could never ever though it was an audio file problem... I made many tests, but after several months of testing, removing all the audio calls files from the game files, i finally discovered what was the cause of those freezes: the audio communications. Even if the game is perfectly playable as it is right now, without any radio chatter, it would be nicer if i could play it with audio comms again, instead of just ambience, plane and weapon sounds, i really loved HQ calls, wingmen comms and radio chatter. I have no idea what could it be that "interfers" with the game and makes it freeze whenever a call is given, or even an explosion happens. Only removing all audio comms from game files the problem solved. Could you help me please? Any idea or suggestion would be great! Thank you a lot guys!

SF2 Israel Hi-Res 1920x1080 Menu Screens and Music! v5 By Viper 05/17/2020 Note: I removed all the nation sounds from this Menu packs for size reasons. If you intend to install the "VIPER63A HQ Menu Sounds" pack, please install that pack first. Installing the HQ Sound pack over the Menu pack may overwrite some of the menu specific music files. You can always re-install this menu pack to get the menu specific theme music back. Special thanks to Homefies and Spectre8750 for their contributions that led me here... This mod includes custom "Israeli" themed menu screens, pilots and music. I used the MENU INI files to reuse the music files for different menus. This reduces the size of the package as I don't have duplicates of the same music files for different menus. You should unzip the file and preview the new screens before installing them. I recommend doing this as there are alternate screens I have in there that you might like better. If you choose to install these screens, I recommend that you back up your FLIGHT, MENU and PILOTDATA folders in the SF2 Mod folder you're installing this mod into. Just in case you want to go back to your original setup. To install, simply unzip and copy the uncompressed FLIGHT, MENU and PILOTDATA folders to your StrikeFighter2 mod folder. 7. Hi! Im pretty new in the community, but i am into sound and the game its actually really eazy to mod in that regard! So, im making a big sound mod with high quality samples from other games like BF4 and DCS. I´ve replacing a lot of sounds using a existing mod (Strike Figthers 2 Sounds) But maybe some of the sounds are still in the CAT files and i cant find them. Can someone help me extract all the stock Sound files from the Cat? Thank you. PD: also i plan put the Ace Combat Voices in the game but that sounds files are there.

  12. I recently got around to changing the stock Jetengine and JetBurner sound on almost all of my jets as I HATE the stock third Wire sound. So this topic isnt really a question about how to do someting but more of a what are the CA community's favorite sounds to replace the stock thirdwire sounds? (Theres no wrong Answers) I would say mine is the J79 and J79Burner sounds released with most F-4 mods!
  13. Hello! I am trying to figure out the soundlist ini and sounds in the game generally. Ive noticed I have a flaresout.wav in my sound file ive tried adding the sound to the soundlist ini but doesn't seem to work. Im also having trouble adding windloop/radio loop sounds to a strike eagle's sound section when it wasn't there before, anyone have any advice? I couldn't find an answer in the knowledge base. I figured adding some wind/radio to the F-15E would be pretty cool and a flaresout sound would be awesome!
  14. HI guys, sorry to be a pain. I was wandering if anyone could send me the Stock JetEngine.WAV file, I downloaded a replacement file on this site a while ago and since then its caused all sorts of peculiarity's in the games sound, (lawnmower helicopters, slowed down radio-chatter etc...) I've learnt my lesson. I think long and hard before deleting game files now... Thanks in advance Alex

SF2 NATO Fighters 5 Hi-Res 1920x1080 Menu Screens and Music v5 By Viper 05/17/2020 Note: I removed all the nation sounds from this Menu packs for size reasons. If you intend to install the "VIPER63A HQ Menu Sounds" pack, please install that pack first. Installing the HQ Sound pack over the Menu pack may overwrite some of the menu specific music files. You can always re-install this menu pack to get the menu specific theme music back. This mod includes custom "NATO" themed menu screens, pilots and music (AC5, thanks to tonipm99). This mod will over write the MainScreen INI delivered in the NF5 package with the stock INI file. I did this so I can go back to using JPEG images rather than the BITMAP menus that came with the original NF5 packages. Unzip the package and preview the new screens before installing them. I recommend doing this as there are MANY alternate screens I have in there that you might like better. If you choose to install this package, I recommend that you back up your FLIGHT, MENU and PILOTDATA folders in the SF2 Mod folder you're installing this package into. If you intend to install the "VIPER63A HQ Menu Sounds" pack, please install that pack first. Installing the HQ Sound pack over the Menu pack may overwrite some of the menu specific music files. You can always re-install this menu pack to get the menu specific theme music back. I've seen some very nice screens in 1920x1080 mode, so I thought I'd give it try. So here is my "Top Gun" contribution! Special thanks to Homefies and Spectre8750 for their contributions that led me here... This mod includes custom "Top Gun" themed menu screens, pilots and music. I used the MENU INI files to reuse the music files for different menus. This reduces the size of the package as I don't have duplicates of the same music files for different menus. You should unzip the file and preview the new screens before installing them. I recommend doing this as there are MANY alternate screens I have in there that you might like better. 25. Hey, I'd like to change the sound of the engine in dry thrust or 100% military power (no afterburner). The file that needs to be changed is called JetEngine in the sound folder. The default sound is just lame. I have a hairdryer that makes an even more impressive sound. In real life the full mil power sounds of a jet engine really screams. And then, when the throttle is pushed even further you have the added rumble and decibels of an afterburner. I found no existing mods for the dry non afterburning sounds. I'm a sound tech myself and could make some sounds myself. I tried something but I can't seem to make it work for the SF2 series. For the clarity. I want to change the JetEngine file in the soundfolder. When I make a new sound and name it 'JetEngine' it doesn't seem to work. I changed the sounds of sims like Falcon, MSFS in the past. But somehow this works different. How? Can anyone help me out?
