"NEEDS" Wrench's Modern Darwin\Timor map SF1 series
Back up your Darwin map and copy
and replace the BMP and TGA files
in your Terrain/Darwin folder.
Thanks to Wrench for the Darwin map.
Wrench's work on this map has been an inspiration, that I had to give the Terrain tiles an update.
I did use the Rwayupgd_Pv1 (thanks Polak) addon to update the Runways and Taxiways.
and very big thanks to Google maps for SAT images.
Euro Terrain Tileset for use in Strike Fighters. Download this file if you already have v1.0 and need to update to 2.0, these are the replacement files only.

****Hi res replacement tiles for DBS terrain v0.99b****
This is a simple repaint of tiles for DBS terrain, the reasons this is not v1.00 are following
- I am not happy with the transition from "SeaIce" to "Sea" area and need to make transition tiles to smooth it up, for that I will need original texturelist of the first DBS terrain...
- As you will notice theese tiles are done in 1024x1024, I have been making such tiles on all my recent work anyway then downsizing them to 512, after a few days if there will be enough intrest in this I will post a poll on CA to see if anybody actually notices significant enough visual improvement for me to continue with 1024 tiles, yes I need test bunnies lol
INSTALLATION:
Simply unzip into DBS terrain folder and overwrite when asked, I recommend backing it up in case you want to revert to the old ones.
NOTES ON PERFORMANCE:
I didn't expirience any performance loss even with higher resolution tiles(2048) however, mission loading times will probably increase!
Afghanistan Tileset (Beta)
This is a quick and dirty mod of the WOI standard tileset to fit it into the Afghanistan terrain, so that not only WOI user can fly and fight over the Hindukush mountains.
I hope that better tilesets will follow soon by more talented modders than me.

Sea variation tile For Strike Fighters Gold / Project 1

DESCRIPTION:
Adds some random darker areas to the Desert map's sea as to give
it a more natural and less monotonous look. Like in the the other
three official terrain sets.
Just a very subtile change, although it involved changing
about 25.000 entries in the tile map, fortunately it could be
done automated.
INSTALLATION:
To make this work add these two files to your SFP1 terrain folder
Sea2.tga (alternate sea tile graphic)
Desert.tfd (hex modified desert tilemap)
Desert_Data.ini (terrain datafile with additional 69th texture entry, oct 2008 version)

*INSERTD 1/25/03* European Terrain tileset for use in Project-1
This is not "Historically Correct" nor meant to be. It was made to add a bit more of a "Korean flavour" to the fine work of fng2k, Edward and the other community members who've contributed to the new Korean theatre. It is -- a sometimes extensive -- repaint of Deuce's "Enhanced" WoV tiles with the addition of new dirt airfield textures, plus custom specular lighting effects on the sea and river tiles. There are still a few misplaced tiles but I've not got the time (or knowledge) to sort these out.

Desert Airfield Ground Texture Replacement for Israel 2 Terrain

DESCRIPTION:
Using the 'Israel 2' terrain in 'Wings over Europe' Game I noticed the
airfields are placed upon a unique ground texture that doesn't
blend well with the surrounding terrain.
the files responsable are:
Feldflugplatz.bmp for airfields near farmland.
FeldflugplatzWueste.bmp for airfields in the desert.
(or FeldflugplatzWüste.bmp in the earlier version)
This package includes a feldflugplatz.bmp drawn from scratch
and a FeldflugplatzWueste.bmp that is a mere copy of the
surrounding desert.
I suspect one can easily get the tiles to work for other
desert terrains/tilesets.
INSTALLATION:
Copy the included files to a folder that contains
the terrain data, for example:
WOE\terrain\Israel 2\
(You may want to backup/rename the original files first.)

This is a mod to Wings Over Europe's GermanyCE Terrain, that modifies 13 sections of highway into airstrips that are usable for single missions, any mission editor, and campaigns. The runway size is set to SMALL, so only aircraft with a "MinBaseSize=SMALL" can use them. This mod does not modify any of the stock campaigns to use the new runways, but I did include instructions if you would like to do this.

Alternative City tiles for Snipe's New Summer Euro WW2 tiles for Edward & Charles' "War over Europe" terrain
To Install, drop in your new Summer Euro WW2 terrain folder and overwrite the existing tiles.
These blend in a lot more than the original set.

This is a replacement set of tiles and INI files to bring Edward & Charles' EAW-derived "War over Europe" WW2 Euro terrain up to the latest patch standards (3-D clouds, animated water and terrain noisemap). Included is Polak's water noisemap from his DesertPR tiles and the correct FX files to get the animated water etc. Also included is a modified Environmentalsys INI based on that from Nato Fighters for WoE.

My tiles are largely based on Edward's FE Flanders Terrain tiles (themselves partly derived from modified Flight Simulator 2004 tiles & Thirdwire tiles), with elements of tiles from Thirdwire's/Deuces enhanced WoE tileset and Paul Wilson's (?) Summer EAW tiles.

The tiles will also work with the EAW Euro Cold war terrain available at Combat Ace.
