Spitfire MkI, No.54 Sqn, Royal Air Force, Hornchurch, May 1940
Operating from Hornchurch in Essex, No.54 was one of the Fighter Command squadrons tasked with defending the BEF and Royal Navy in Northern France, especially during Operation Dynamo, the withdrawal from Dunkirk. At this time, the squadron was led by S/L James Leathart, and included two Pilot Officers from New Zealand who were to make quite a name for themselves, namely Alan Deere and Colin Gray. Alan Deere's autobiography "Nine Lives" is well worth reading, and gives a clear idea of what it was like to be one of the Few, before, during and after the Battle.
The markings are typical of the period and include the fin flash and underwing roundels which were used at the time only on those Home-based aircraft operating over the French mainland. Black-and-white undersides were replaced by Sky according to AM Signal X915 of 6th June 1940, although it would be mid-August at the earliest before significant quantities of this new shade were generally available.
Serial numbers given in the menu list correspond to aircraft used by 54 Squadron during May 1940. In common with a number of fighter squadrons in 1939 and early 1940, however, 54 Sqn painted out the serial numbers on the aircraft, and the corresponding decals are therefore not included in this pack. Where a pilot has been identified as having flown a particular aircraft (The Royal Air Force did not attribute aircraft to particular pilots, although many did tend to have their favourites) that pilot has been listed in the menu.
For use ONLY with SF2 including the Israel Expansion Pack. This will NOT work if you do not have the stock TW Spitfires installed and working.
Includes 2048 and 1024 size skin sheets.

Someone requested these, so I'm uploading them.
These are HomeGrown templates, based off the original 3W skins, with redrawn panel, rivet lines and some weathering and staining. I've left all my layers intact, so you can use or not use whatever you like!
Standard photoshop PSD format. Mapping appears to be identical to the WoE AV-8A/Harrier GR.1 (I haven't really checked this, but it 99.999999999999999%)
no readme, as these are templates, and those that know how to use them, don't need a read me!
enjoy!

Spitfire MkIa, No.610 (County of Chester) Sqn, Auxiliary Air Force, Biggin Hill, August 1940
No.610 Squadron received its Spitfires during late September and early October 1939, and moved to Biggin Hill on 8th July 1940 in time for the Battle of Britain. The Squadron stayed at Biggin until the very end of August, and bore the full brunt of the German offensive. By the end of August, it was utterly played out, and moved up to Acklington in Northumberland on 31st August.
Serial numbers in this pack correspond to aircraft used by 610 Squadron during September 1940, although many of these aircraft were on strength only for some days, for obvious reasons. The individual letters and serial numbers of each aircraft correspond. Equally, where a pilot has been identified as having flown a particular aircraft (The Royal Air Force did not attribute aircraft to particular pilots, although many did tend to have their favourites) that pilot has been listed in the menu.
The list is eloquent. Only two of the pilots listed survived unharmed. They majority of these men were under 25 years of age at the time of their deaths, and they made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our freedom and independence today.
This assumes that you have already installed the AvHistory Guns for SF2 and my 19 Squadron Spitfire MkI.

Spitfire LF.MkVIIIc, No.607 Sqn RAF, 1944-45
No.607 (County of Durham) Sqn began flying on the Spitfire MkVIII in March 1944.
The serial numbers included all correspond to LF.MkVIIIc aircraft built in late 1943 to early 1944 and shipped out to India.

Decals, placement and data.ini modifications by ndicki
The canopy is activated by toggling "shift 0" - RAF procedures dictated that the canopy should be open and locked back during take-off and landing.
As the MkVIII had a retractable tail-wheel, I have removed the MkIX-type fixed tail-wheel.
For use ONLY with SF2 including the Israel Expansion Pack. This will NOT work if you do not have the stock TW Spitfires installed and working.

Lockheed QF-104A Starfighter for Strike Fighters 2
The QF-104A was a special modified version of the (Y)F-104A Star-fighter which could be flown remotely controlled. The control was done by F-104 pilots on the ground or inside another aircraft.
The conversion of the (Y)F-104A to QF-104A was approved on 19 Februar 1960 by the USAF. Testing of the QF was conducted during the period of 9 Januar 1961 to 16 October 1961.
The reason for converting the (Y)F-104A was the need for high altitude, high mach targets for the development of ground-to-air (BOMARC) and air-to-air (AIM7 - AIM9 - GAR2B - MB1 - AIM4) missiles.
At the end of the summer in 1972 the QF-104 drone program had come to an end and the F-104D's were handed over to the Puerto Rice ANG which could use them very well. All of the personnel that were in the QF-104 program were reassigned to other duties and bases.
In total 24 QF-104's have been used by the USAF. Twenthy of them were actually killed as targets and 1 crashed while flying a manned mission. The pilot ejected safely.
What has happened to the other 3 aircraft is not known but it is very likely that they have been withdrawn from use.
In total the drone-flight has accomplished 162 unmanned missions. Most of the QF mission were flown at Eglin AFB. However, some were flown at Holloman AFB (NewMexico) and a small number at Point Mugu NAS in California (for the US NAVY).
The QF-104A were of course different from the normal 104’s.
The most important modifications/changes included (in reality there are a lot more...) :
1 - The QF-104A received anti-skid brakes.
2 - A smoke-generator was applied (JP-4 pumped into the exhaust).
3 - Remote control system to fly the aircraft unmanned.
4 - A dayglow paintscheme was applied. It was an “eyecatcher”.
Originally the aircraft serial numbers were painted white. This was unsatisfactory as they were not highly visible against the dayglow. For that reason they were changed to black lateron.
5 - A special system which is able to make in flight air-starts remotely. In fact several were successfully made over the years.
6 - Due to the high-rate of stall problems with the GE J79 3A engines the QF was repowered by the 3B version of this engine. This solved the stall-problems.
7 - A self-destruction device was mounted on the QF for emergency reasons. This device was remotely controlled
8 - A changed cockpit layout to support all typical QF-104 systems.
9 - Additional gun-bay and case storage fuel tanks.
10 - Optical (5) camera scoring system. Three camera’s were located in the nose radome and 2 could be found inside the left external fueltank.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pilot Notes:
The default nation for this plane is USAF "friendly plane".
Inside the QF-104A there is a folder named "For Mescalero Proving Grounds", if you want to use this aircraft with that mod simply replace the data.ini file. Now it will be a "red" target. :'(

This little modification is my tweak to several textures from "ODS" Iraq/Piecemeal's Desert3 terrains.
Created with "Updated Default SF2 Terrain by Piecemeal V 1.2" in mind, this pack changes the look of desert-to-mountain transitions tiles, making them much more sloped rocks thus standing out from surrounding sands. Tile-specific heightmap files (_HM) used to achieve more detailed mesh displacement.
Matter of one's preferences, it's one of those not necessary optional mods ;)
All the transition textures are based on work by Deuces for original ODS terrain, further used in Piecemeal's Desert3 update of stock SF2 Parani/Dhimari map.
