  1. Kfir C2, Fuerza Aérea Hondureña ("What If...")

"What If..." Kfir C2, Fuerza Aérea Hondureña (Honduran Air Force)
    = For SF2, Full-4 Merged Preferred/Reccomended

    * Note: at minimum, you must have SF2:I to access the Kfir C2 aircraft lod and cockpit. Hence, the 'Full-4 Merged' tag.*

Just a little something fun for the "What If..." crowd that I had started last year, and totally forgot about.

This presumes that the FAH purchases refurbished Kfirs from Israel. These a basic, stock aircraft with no 'bells and whistles' (ie: radar missiles), and are totally stock from in-game items (excepting my modified skins with English tags -which should actually be in Spanish).

Everything is basically stock, excepting I tweaked the data, loadout and avionics inis to add the usual suspects. Data ini mods corrects (yet again!) the tail lighting positions, adds the landing lights, and operating canopy (the expected Shift/0). Loadout mods add the centerline tank for A-A tasking. Aviconcs tweeks make use of dtmdragons RWR listing, with it's expanded threat library (NOT included -it's in his RNZAF A-4 Skyhawks pak). 18 new serial numbers, following and extrapolated from current and past FAH patterns are included. Decal randomization is set to "TRUE". A userlist is included, even though this is a 'nationalized', non-exported, single user aircraft.

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them!! When I finally get finished with the Central America map (don't be holding breath now!), there'll be a nice playground for it.

  2. F-20A Tigershark, Skin, Decals and Ini Tweeks Pak

F-20 Tigershark Skin, Cockpit, and Ini UPgrades Pak for SF2
    =For SF2, Any and All (but Full-4 Merged Prefered/Reccomended*)

*Note: due to some stock decals used, USAF & RAF, at minimum, you need SF2:E*

A bunch of new skins for Veltro2K's recently released Northrup F-20 "Tigershark". This pak will also includes some cockpit and many ini tweeks. This pak is designed to be installed OVER your existing F-20, with several caveats ... so it's important you read the install instruction =BEFORE= applying this pak. As this is an Reskin/Ini Pak, the aircraft lods are not included. A new cockpit, however, is.

This mod represents Production variants, had they been made, for the USAF and other Allied Nations. The export customers are based upon those identified by Nothrup as "Tier 1" customers (ie: users with F-5 experience).
A new Userlist is supplied, for those wanted to create/redecal some of the existing skins for those shown in the user list, but not provided here. A new, Generic Hangar screen is included.

11 skin/decal sets are included in this pak. The name in paranthesis (name) designates the skin folder name. The skins are:

Football City AF (from "The Wingman" book series) (FBCAF)
JASDF,1 Hikotai, in overall Martime blue (JASDF)
ROCAF, 2-tone F-15/16 style grays (ROCAF)
RSAF, in a solid 'Air Superiority' gray (RSAF)
RNZAF, #75 Squadron 'King Kahu', in overall green (RNZAF)
RAF, #92 Squadron, overall gray (RAF)
    57th FW, Nellis AFB (Nellis)
152nd FS, 162nd FW, AZANG, in a dark F-16-style gray (AZ)
10th TFS Hahn Germany, in 2-tone F-15 style 'Compass Ghost' grays (Gray2)
"Generic" Dark Air Superiority gray (Gray)
"2 Tone BlueGrays", a repaint/rename of the original release skin (2Tone)

These last 2 listed have "Generic" nation callout, and can be rebadged/decaled/reused for the creation of other user-nations of the aircraft; either through selection via the Single Mission/Loadout screen, or via creating entiely new skins. One of the massive advantages of not painting on markings...
All markings on all skins =ARE= decals, making is quite easy to create said other user nations. A great number of new decals were created for this mod, and many borrowed from other skins. A full listing of those are in the Credits section.
New damage textures in DDS format are also included.

My Home-Grown Templates ™ are included, for those wishing to create new skins, and/or improve on my basic design (yeah, it could use it! LOL! -cough- RAF Euro camo -cough- various SEA 3-toned -cough-)

No weapon are included; they are either stock, from pre-existing mods and/or reference those from the GunnyPak. The drop tanks from the original release are NOT included (as they're kinda sorta stock, too)
The cockpit included herein more than likely has more funcionality than would have been in the production aircraft. The avionics ini also makes use of dtmdragon's complied RWR tweeks/expansion pak ... if you don't have it, you should! Sounds are also not included,
as those from the F-16 paks are referenced here.

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them!! The usual "Notes" section for other interestering details and stuff, explinations, and general musings and things. That section needs to be read, as it explains/offers alternatives as to WHY some of the nation-specific loadouts are NOT
    working as they should

It is vitaly !!!IMPORTANT!!! that you read this document throughly before installing ...as you will be deleting, renaming and/or moving several files and folders to make full and correct use of this Pak. So, unzip it first to a temp folder or your desktop, or anywhere that allows ease of access to it.
    READ IT!!!

    Good Hunting!!

  3. "What If..." 2011 MiG-21MFU (Upgrade), New Iraqi Air Force

"What If..." MiG-21MF(U), New Iraqi Airforce for SF2

    =For SF2, Any and All (but Full-4 Merged Prefered/Reccomended*)

*Note: should work in any install with access to the MiG-21MF lods. Which, iirc, are available in all versions*

While doing research for the "Operation Darius" mod, I came across some statments about rebuilding the New IrAF, possibly using upgraded/updated/rebuilt versions of many that were outside Iraq when OIF kicked off. This mod is the result, albeit beyond speculation, into the realms of pure fantasy.

This assumed (oh! that word!) that the GoI chose to refurbish 18 MiG-21MFs that were in Serbia in 2003 to modern 21st Century capabilities. Think along the lines of the Mig-21-93, Lancer or even closer, the HAL-built Bison for the Indian AF. These aircraft would be used for border security, in-country airspace control, ground support and martime strike. If required.

This aircraft has a modern HUD, TEWS, full avionics suite with multi-mode AA and AG radars, and a defensive pak with jammers and expendable decoys (ie: chaff and flares). It's speced/cleared for weapons of NATO, French and US origins, as well as being able to (re)use old Soviet/WarPac munitions. Offensive weapons mounts carry standard IRMs and medium range radar guided missiles (Magics and R-530F)
This mod also makes use of dtmdragon's 'generic' RWR listing, so make sure you have that installed and updated. As expected, the canopy operates via manual animation keystroke, the ever popular Shift/0.

All new serial numbers using the 2010-stle 'YI' codes have been created, as is the new IrAF insigina (same as the new flag). This is the same prefix code now seen on NIrAF C-130s, Cessna 182s, various helicoptors, and T-6A Texan IIs now in service.
2 versions of the insignia are included; one is full color, the other a Low-Viz version. It's set for the full color now, but you can switch it, if wanted, by a simple edit of the decals.ini.

No weapons are included (other than a "new" 2-IR mount); they are either stock, from pre-existing mods and/or reference those from the GunnyPak.

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them!! The usual "Notes" section for other interestering details and stuff, explinations, and general musings and things.

  4. [what-if] F-35AP Piorun

In 2016 the Polish Air Force Su-22s reached the end of TBO and the MiG-29s were not compatible with modern air combat standards. Instead of modernizing old planes the Ministry of Defence decided to buy new multirole fighters to replace them. A competition between some companies was started. EADS offered the EF-2000, SAAB proposed the GripenNG and Lockhhed Martin offered more F-16s or new F-35As. The negotiations were finished in the middle of 2017. Lightning became the winner of the competition and the PAF decided to buy 38 aircraft with modern armament, including AIM-120C-7 and JAGM missiles. Deliveries of first aircraft began in 2018. Lightnings received a polish name 'Piorun'. They were delivered to three squadrons of the 1. Skrzydlo Lotnictwa Taktycznego (1st Tactical Air Wing):

    - 1. Eskadra Lotnictwa Taktycznego (1st Tactical Air Squadron), Minsk Mazowiecki Air base (13 aircraft)
    - 40. Eskadra Lotnictwa Taktycznego, Swidwin Air Base (12 aircraft)
    - 41. Eskadra Lotnictwa Taktycznego, Malbork Air Base (13 aircraft)

    Installation Instructions:

Unzip the contents to your mod folder, overwrite when asked.

This mod was made for SF2 and tested on full 4-merged install with EXP 1&2.

All the effects, sounds, weapons and pilots are included. Most of the weapons come from SF2 Ordnance Pack.

    Credits:

    FastCargo for his F-35 pack

Special thanks to czarny900 for his priceless advice.

    Notes:

JAGM missle doesn't have a correct 3D model. It's a repainted BrimStone. It's a lofted missile with range of 15nm.

    Legal stuff:

  6. Dassault/Convair F-114A "Mirage'

    Dassault/Convair F-114A "Mirage" (A What If...)
    -- For SF2, Full-4 Merged (Prefered) and/or any combination with SF2:E & SF2:I --

It =REQUIRES= a Full-4 Merged install -The PREFERRED Way ™, or at the very least, SF2:I for the various and sundry bits used herein. To, wit; the SF2E Mirage 3C and/or DLC3, and SF2:I for the Shahak (MirageIIICJ) Cockpit. If you do NOT have the minimum required game installs, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS MOD, as you won't be able to use it.

This is a mod of the SF2:E/I Mirage III as seen in the SF2 "What If Forums", fully extrapolated into a production aircraft as used by the USAF Air Defence Command and Air National Guard units (supplimenting and replacing the F-102 in many cases, until the F-106 arrived a bit later than is historical). You can read the backstory there (with additons by me in the "Notes" below)

This is a complete aircraft, with 4 skin sets.
    The skin sets are:

    119th FIS, New Jersy ANG
    196th FIS, California ANG
    317th FIS, Alaska ADC
509th FIS, USAF, PACAF, Southeast Asia 3-Tone

Skins are based off the stock NM Mirage 3C, from new partial templates I created. All inis included reflect it's Primary Usage as an Air Defence Interceptor; however, all ground attack capabilities and mission statements are retained.

All new serial number decals have been created, extrapolated from the end-of-production run of the F-102s. The "FM" buzz number code is a real code, once assigned to Fisher P-75. I thought it would be fitting, what with it being a =M=irage. (a name it keeps, as I couldn't think of a good 'D' name to fit with Delta Dart and Delta Dagger. Delta Dirk?? Just don't sound right!). All markings are decals, thereby making it easier for other skinners to create other USAF/ADC/ANG/etc units by simply making new unit marking decals. The PACAF skin makes use of stock, in-game decals for the serials.

Basic armament is 'standard' for early/mid 1960s USAF Interceptors; the AIM-4 Falcon and nuke-tipped AIR-2 Genie. Sidwinders will load automatically after 1972. Alternatively, for non-nuclear missile carriage, a revamped (read: repainted and ini tweeked) conventional warheaded AIM-26B Advanced Falcon is included. For mission builders, there is a Conventional Loadout statement in the loadout ini. All A-G loadouts use standard, USAF in-game weapons. I've also supplied the AIM-4G from the GunnyPak, for those poor unfortunates that might not have it.

As always, the canopy is activated via a manual animation key. Use Shift/0 to open and close. Landing lights have also been added, as well as corrected positioning for other running lights.

As always, READ the enclosed readme for full, detailed instructions. This package has been broken down into the various folders that SF2 needs, to make it a LOT easier to install (read: drag and drop). As expected, the usual "Notes and Other Nonsense" section, that lists the changes/modification/improvements/whatever that Convair did when 'Americanizing' the Mirage.

Have fun with it!! I sure did building it!

This is my mod of a Dhimari Air Force aircraft Hawja Mk.4. The name means "Tornado" in arabic and the aircraft is
a Dhimari version of Tornado GR4.

    Credits:

    - Spinners - Dhimari decals (changed by me a litle)
    - dave - italian Tornado skin

Other weapons taken from MGunny's Ordnance Shop II for SF2.
I'd also want to thank the author of ARABIC3BLACK decals but i don't know his name.

This mod was tested on full 4-merged install of SF2. Get the latest patch so you will have the number randomization and year-specific loadouts working.

To install unzip the file and drop the objects folder into your mod folder. Overwrite when asked.

  8. Yak-141 for SF2

Hi, this is my adapt for the Yak-141, i just put things together and made it to work in SF2 standard, everything has been made to put it in the respective mod folders, if you are prompted to overwrite, please do so, the only part you need to work with, goes to the Soundlist.ini which you need to extract and place it in the flight folder, and add the following lines:

SoundFileXXX=GSh301................ XXX standing as the next number in the sounds sequence.

    [GSh301]
    Priority=NORMAL
    Looped=TRUE
    NumBuffers=4
    3DSound=TRUE
    DopplerEffect=FALSE
    MaxDist=1000.000000
    MinDist=50.000000
    InsideConeAngle=360
    OutsideConeAngle=360
ConeOutsideVolume=0..............this goes at the very bottom
    of the sounds list.

I used a modified Su-27 Flanker cockpit, since it`s the closest one to the real plane, based in pics i found, also the avionics are more modern, just to think as a what if this plane would have entered in service, she would be active as of today.

    VTOL Operation Checklist:

    1) BE SMOOTH AT ALL TIMES....Deploy air brakes (required to raise forward lift engine intake screen)

    2) Set flaps to full

    3) Set nozzles to full down position

    4) Release wheel brakes

    5) Apply throttle SMOOTHLY. You will start lifting at approx. 87% throttle. Under no circumstances should you apply more than 89% throttle when in VTOL mode, or you will loose control when the AB kicks in.

    6) As you're gaining altitude, dip the nose forward slightly while still in VTOL mode to gain forward momentum.

    7) Raise the landing gear, and begin swiveling the nozzles back (as smoothly as possible), as you gain forward speed.

    8) Retract the air brake/intake screen as you pass 80 knots, raise the flaps all the way at 170 knots,

    9) Did I remind you to be smooth as often as I should have? : )

    10) Practice makes perfect!

This mod is uploaded using the Freeware Licensing Terms by the Forum, but i want to thank to the following individuals:

-Gabilon, the creator of this beautiful plane.
-Oliver, BPAO Anguille for the Cockpit (thanks wherever you are)
-Lindr2, who tweaked the cockpit in his MiG-29 beta release.
-The Trooper, for the fabulous pilot.
-Fubar512 who made some modifications to the FM, and they are noted in this read me.
-Deuces, for the MiG Afterburner effects and fuselage vapor effect.

If i forget someone here, pelase let me know and i will credit you, my apologies in advance.

I hope you enjoy this mod and if you have any questions, don´t doubt to ask me here in the forum, or via PM.

  11. What if F-16 AMB Venezuelan upgrade Block 15 to 20

Skin for the Jordan F-16 that u can find here Jordan F16

In 2012 Venezuelan Government Decides to improve their last F-16s in order to keep them and use them for 15 + years more, the new upgrade is the Block 20, really similar to the Jordan version, since the F-16 was going to be phased out by the new incoming J-10 or Mig-35 the AMB "venezuelan airforce" test a new Digital camo on them, two versions; Jordan Style and Night Fighter based on the US marpat, also the Block 20 adds anti ship capabilities to the F16, maybe we can see in the future a Venezuelan Armada Fighter Wing with this F-16s (actually im thinking of making a naval blue digital to this F16).

    Enjoy it.

    whats new?

Royal Navy Skyraider Mk.1 (What If...)

    = For SF2 (Full-4 Merged) or SF2:V ONLY!!!- =

As stated above, you MUST have a Full-4 merged, or at the VERY LEAST!! SF2:V to make use of this mod, as it accesses the A-1H lod from SF2:V. All other parts are supplied herein (except the engine sound and the centerline droptank; they're included the A-1H/A-1J updates, which you should have. If not, what's stopping you? They're available at the following URLs:

    http://combatace.com/files/file/11252-3rdw-a-1j-skyraider-skins-and-ini-update-pak/

Yes, shamless self-promotion <grin>) Other than the aformentioned, this is a complete, new aircraft for Royal Navy usage.

This is a complete update of the "What If..." RN Skyraider I released in 2005. The aircraft has 3 sets of skins (created from a HomeGrown ™ template with redrawn panel and rivet lines and etcs). The skins cover:

830 NAS, in dark gray/white during the 1950s (includes Suez War 'Invasion Stripe' decals)
813 NAS, in dark gray/white for other 1950s/early 60s usage (no stripes)
814 NAS, in sea blue/white during the 1960/70s

All decals from the original pak have been reused, as everyone knows how I hate to waste good decals <grin>. Like my other USN Skyraider mods, this has a working canopy (use shift/0 to open and close), and corrected light positions, including a landing light. A new SF2-style hangar screen, and a short historical essay are included.

As always, =READ= the enclosed readme for full, detailed instructions. This package has been broken down into the various folders that SF2 needs, to make it a LOT easier to install.

  14. F-4E _90_NZ

This is my F-4E_90_NZ Fictional mod for all Merged SF2 games and any Standalone game that includes ThirdWire’s stock F-4E_78.

Inspired by Spinner’s F-4M_89_NZ I decided to have an F-4E RNZAF mod. I had a Kiwi F-4E mod already right from the start but never uploaded it. Mr. DTM Dragon has uploaded a mod previously and many of these skins can be adapted to work with his mod if you want. However because most of the skins in this mod are new I have decided to upload and share. Over half the skins are from Sundowner and the rest by myself on ThirdWire’s templates and Sundowners templates. Decals are stock and Spinners and some by me.

To install just extract and copy and paste the Aircraft Folder into the Aircraft Folder and Decals into Decals Folder.

I have restricted the loadout a little, RNZAF is only small so not a large weapons arsenal. However if the RNZAF deployed overseas in a combat role we would most likely get supplies from American, Britain and even Australia. So you can tinker there if you want.

I have added Mercenary skins as well. They are Generic so you can mod those skins into any Air Force you want. They are fictional and are purely for fun.

Plus another Easter Egg Folder. One to go straight into F-4_78 folder and the other into the F-4D_78 stock folders, decals are all generic.

  15. F-4M_89_NZ Expansion

    Spinners F-4M_89_NZ.

    Modified by James Fox 12/04/2011.

Added addional SKins by Sundowner reworked by me to fit the stock F-4M_75 Thirdwire model and some by me plus a little tinkering here and there.

Decals by Spinners and some by me and the rest by ThirWire.

    This is Freeware mod.

Very big thanks to Sundowner and Spinners for this mod to which I have only just added too and expanded a little.

    Plus to ThirdWire and CombatAce.

PS. The contents of the Easter Egg Folder must go into the Stock ThirdWire SF2 F-4M_75 Folder, uses stock decals. This a bonus for those who do not want RNZAF aircraft.

I have used Spinners ReadMe, well what can I do it is perfect.

    SPINNERS README:------------------------------------------------------------

McDonnell Douglas Phantom F-4M_89 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2:EUROPE AND FULL MERGED INSTALLS.

This is a simple mod of the stock Third Wire Phantom FGR.2 (F-4M_75) to give a fictional 'Kiwi' Phantom
with markings for No.2 squadron of the Royal New Zealand Air Force as they might have appeared during
    the 1990's.

    BACKSTORY

During the build up to Operation Corporate (the UK's military operation to retake the Falkland Islands) the UK
Government were overwhelmed at the support given by the countries of the Commonwealth and, in particular,
the response of the Australian and New Zealand Governments who provided ships to maintain the UK's NATO
commitments and thus allow the Royal Navy to maximise the number of ships it could send to the South Atlantic.

In the following years there were many reciprocal deals made and favours given to the Commonwealth nations
(and even Chile!) and one such 'favour' was the transfer of 18 ex-RAF Phantom FGR.2's in 1988. The 18 FGR.2's,
only recently withdrawn from RAF service, were ferried out to New Zealand (most still in their dirty grey camo
scheme) during Operation Saddleback before arriving at Ohakea for refurbishment by a joint McDonnell Douglas
/RNZAF team that saw the aircraft eventually emerge in a new 'Forest' style camo scheme and with digital INAS,
upgraded RWR and new outer wing panels. Entering service with No.2 squadron in early 1989 (supposedly as the
Karearea but they were always simply called Phantoms) the aircraft gave good service to the Royal New Zealand
Air Force during the 1990's until finally being retired in December 2001 when, indeed, all 'Air Combat Force'
aircraft were sadly withdrawn from service.

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Drop the F-4M_89_NZ folder into your Aircraft folder.

    2. Drop the SUU-23G folder into your Weapons folder.

    2. Sprinkle the contents of the Decals folder into your main Decals folder.

Do not just move the folder! You must empty the contents in.

    CREDITS

BIG THANKS to TK for the continuous improvement of a great little game/sim.

And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.

    Regards

    Spinners

  16. BAF A-4F_74 for SF2 Merged

This is a fictional Belgium Air Force A-4F for SF2 series. This model uses ThirdWire’s SF2 series A-4F_74 model so if you do not have ThirdWire’s A-4F_74 it will not work. I have a full Merged install and have no problems. The mode uses Generic decals already in game. I have not created Squadron markings or serial numbers. I really have no idea what they could have been or where they may have appeared on the aircraft. I have included decal address on the model using stock ThirdWire decals where I think they could have appeared. Feel free to add your own and upload if you wish.

Sometime back a Belgium member posted a short post on how the Belgium Air Force looked at the A-4 but did not purchase A-4’s. So this is my Fictional mode of one.

To install just extract the Zip folder and copy and paste the A-4F_74_BAF into your Aircraft Folder and go fly. Again the mode uses stock everything except the skins.

Thanks to ThirdWire for the game which every year gets better and to CombatAce for the forum to Upload this Mode too.

This Mode is Freeware and I have really only created the skins and you are free to mode as you wish.

  17. QM-29B Fulcrum Drone

    --------------------------------------------------------

    ----A Tribute Olivier "BPAo" ANGUILLE.----

    ---------------------------------------------------------

    ======================

    =QM-29B (9.12B) Drone=

    ======================

    Background:
    ==========

Following the disintegration of the Soviet Union, Russian 4th-generation fighter jets could be obtained through commercial deal, rather than through defection and capture.

Likewise, in 1992, 6 Mig-29B (9.12B) were loaned to the USA by an unnamed foreign country for evaluation, testing and, in a few occasion, training.

For that purpose, several NATO & friends personal were detached to the 53rd Weapons Evaluation Group.

    Installation:
    =========

*A working installation of the SF2 Mescalero Proving Grounds is required, otherwise, it will simply not work.*

    - decompress the archive to a temporary folder, on your desktop for example
    - drop the content of the "To your mod folder"... into your mod folder, confirm when asked to overwrite
    - start your game and enjoy

    Credits:
    ======

Original Mig-29A by The Mirage Factory.
The gorgeous pit is the MiG-29 Cockpit Repaint by Orsin.
The skin is purely fictional but may not have been possible, within a lifetime span given my skills, without the amazing Mig29 Templates by Sundowner.
ChampionsVA56 for his guidance and inspiration.

Jane's publications, Harpoon High Tide's Data Annex, 1F-MIG29-1 flight manual, Yefim Gordon's books and posts by Tom Cooper from ACIG have been used as reference for datas' fine tuning.

If I forgot anyone, let me know and I'll correct it asap.

    Notes:
    =====

The QM-29B Fulcrum Drone is available from 1992 to 2002.

It have no ECM but have four times as much chaff and flares than normal.

The fuel transfer sequence have been made as correct as possible, so watch your fuel, and a boost to the ACM mode's ScanBeamAngle is loosely simulating the IRST device.

If you dig in, you may notice unusual Radar Range or Max Visible Distance values. They have been set as is for an ongoing project in which a lot of such things have been normalized and in that environment, they make sense. Given the role of the platform, they should not be an issue amongst default values however.

Be advised that the Safe Altitude have been set to 1000 feet (304.8m).

    Have fun.

  18. MQ-10A Kodiak

    MQ-10A Kodiak – Release Version 4.0

Welcome to the Kodiak release version 4.0. This plane was conceived out of my need to find something to effectively kick-start my creative juices and prime me mentally to tackle a few of my languishing projects.

The MQ-10A is obviously a fictitious UAV on steroids. I best described it once as the unholy union of an A-10 and a Predator drone. It’s capable of carrying pretty much everything and oh, did I mention it VTOLS? Yeah, I wet myself a little too...

Please fly it, enjoy it for what it is and go blow some crap up…

    NOTES:

    1. Engine nacelles are rotated via what ever you have mapped for VTOL. Max VTOL weight is around 47,000
    2. Do not be bashful in criticism or critique.
    3. Installation is easy… decompress and cut/paste it in your aircraft folder. It has been tested on all version 2 games but should work in version 1 as well.

    CHANGE LOG / FIXES:

    1. The weird porpoises issue has been fixed. The Kodiak is again a rock-sold weapon platform.
    2. Right, wrong, or indifferent, I’ve settled on a very basic if not extremely functional projected cockpit format.

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS:

    1. I pilfered the HUD stuff from Fastcargo’s F-35 bird.
    2. I pilfered FM tidbits from a lot of different birds. ** Once I finalize on what will be enclosed in the final product I will include full and complete disclosure.
    3. It includes a default Olive Drab scheme and all layered paintshop pro templates to assist in the creation of more.

  19. F-100D "Air Pirate"

    F-100D, Air Pirate

    -- For FULL-4 Merged SF2 (Prefered) and/or SF2:E/V =ONLY!!!= --

(Can be used in any SF2 install that has the access to the F-100D)

    A "just for fun" mod . . .

This package represents aircraft from the fictional Post-WWIII world of the novel series "The Wingman", by Mack Maloney.
These are F-100D SuperSabres as flown by either Air Pirates, or a Freelancer ('guns for hire/Mercenaries').

This package comes with 2 skin sets:

"The Stukas" infamous Air/Ground Pirate gang that operated in Westen New Jersey, parts of New York, eastern Pennsylvania, parts of Ohio and that general region.

A Plane-Jane natural metal for generic usage.

This mod creates a new, stand-alone aircraft (not exported, with no other user). It is best used in a stand-alone mods folder that is based on the post-WW3 world of "The Wingman". Although, it may fit into the 'alternate' world of the Global Sedition vs the North American Alliance. (as do many of my terrain mods)

Loadouts have been adjusted to reflect the 'lack' of sophisticated weapons in the Post-WW3 world (especially for the 'Bad Guys'), and include a 'nation-specific' AirPirate AIM-9B. The canopy has been set to use a manual animation key. Use Shift/0 to open and close it.

As always, =READ= the enclosed readme for full, detailed instructions. This package has been broken down into the various folders that SF2 needs, to make it a LOT easier to install (read: drag and drop).
Again, as usual, the expected "Notes & Ramblings of a Mad(Wing)man" section for fun.

This package comes with a single skin set; A Garish Red/Yellow, as described in the first book. Those wishing other skins are advised to extract the USAFSilver1 and drop it into the main skin folder. Other, more "unusual" skins may be forthcoming. Depends on End User ™ demand, and my free time. Other than the 'pirate' badges, there are no other markings.

This is a COMPLETE aircraft package, including the Zipper's cockpit and the hi-rez repaint by Batman1978; all is ready to just unzip, install and fly. The avionics ini has been modified to give you an 'audio-only' RWR.

This package comes with 2 skin sets; one Natural Metal for the 'deconstruction era', after WW3 and during the time The Aerodrome was established and Fitz began building up business (so to speak), and a 3-tone camo, most likely used during The Circle War and and beyond.

  22. Republic F-103A Thunderwarrior

    Republic F-103A Thunderwarrior by FastCargo

    ********************** Version 1.0 (Initial Release) ***********************

SF2 Version for Jan 2011 Patch and later.

    Aircraft Model - FastCargo
    Aircraft Textures/Templates - EricJ
    Decals - Wrench
F-106 Cockpit - Kesselbut from Pasko F-106 package
Some textures and FM work - FastCargo
Weapons - Bunyap, adapted for SF2 by 331KillerBee

    Any errors are mine...

    Information on XF-103:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_XF-103

The Republic XF-103 Thunderwarrior was an American project to develop a high speed interceptor aircraft to destroy Soviet bombers. Despite a prolonged development, it never progressed past the mock-up stage.

In 1949, the USAF issued a request for an advanced supersonic interceptor to equip the Air Defense Command. Known formally as Weapon System WS-201A, but better known informally as the "1954 Interceptor", it called for a supersonic aircraft with all-weather capability, intercept radar and air-to-air missile armament. Republic was one of six companies to submit proposals. On 2 July 1951, three of the designs were selected for further development, Convair's scaled-up XF-92 that evolved into the F-102 Delta Dagger, a Lockheed design that led to the F-104 Starfighter, and Republic's AP-57. AP-57 was an advanced concept to be built almost entirely of titanium and capable of Mach 3 at altitudes of at least 60,000 ft (24,400 m).

A full-scale mock-up of the AP-57 was built and inspected in March 1953. A contract for three prototypes followed in June 1954. Work on the prototypes was delayed by continued problems with the titanium construction, and more notably by continued problems with the proposed Wright J67 engine. The contract was later reduced to a single prototype. In the end, the J67 never entered production and the aircraft it had been chosen for were forced to turn to other engine designs, or were cancelled outright. Republic suggested replacing the J67 with the Wright J65, a much less powerful engine. The project was eventually cancelled on 21 August 1957 with no flying prototypes ever being completed.

The design was given a brief reprieve as part of the Long-Range Interceptor - Experimental (LRI-X) project that led to the XF-108 Rapier. Part of this project was the development of the advanced Hughes AN/ASG-18 pulse-doppler radar and the GAR-9 missile. Republic proposed adapting the F-103 as a testbed for these systems, although it wouldn't be able to come close to meeting the range requirements of LRI-X. Some work was carried out adapting the mockup to house the 40 inch antenna, which required the nose section to be scaled up considerably. Nothing ever came of the proposal, and testing of the ASG-18/GAR-9 was carried out on a modified B-58 Hustler instead.

    Information on F-103A (this release):

This aircraft is based on heavily on the mockup at the time of cancellation, with 6 of the smaller AIM-4 Falcons and 36 FFAR rockets.

Performance is based on reasonable speculations and closely matches what was in the offical USAF proposed Standard Aircraft Characteristics document.

Some specific things to note include -

This is a point interceptor...designed to give you enough gas for maybe two passes at bomber type targets. It is recommended to be between 250 and 500 knots indicated for your attacks, as your FFARs and AIM-4s will tend to aim exactly at what the nose is pointing at within those speeds (this includes the AI).

To activate the front 'viewport', cycle through your radar modes...be advised while you are using the 'viewport', the radar will not work.

To extend the periscope on the external model, use the 'Arresting Hook' key.

The front missile bays are automatic, the rear missile bays/FFAR pods are manual...you must open them with the 'Bomb Bay' key before you can fire either the rear missiles or FFARs.

This model uses the newest ThirdWire exporter, and as such, the LOD files (except for the lowest 2) are not compatible with any version of the sim older than Jan 2011 (Exp 2 with the Jan 2011 patch). You have been warned...

This will be a difficult aircraft to fly and be successful on a regular basis in 'Hard' mode. If you want an air-to-air challenge, this aircraft will give you one.

Good luck and report any 'serious' issues (ie game crashing or grevious errors) to me at CombatAce.

  23. USAF F-15AM SF2

My verson of the F-15A MSIP II+ (F-15AM)

This aircraft is base on the Stock F-15A SF2, you would need to have SF2 and/or Merged SF2 installed.

I have made a lot of tweaks on the plane. You can modify it to your own liking. The work and the skin is not perfect but I think it will pass.

Thus, weapons and effects is not included, check download section for your preference.

Don't worry if you do not have the effects or weapons installed, the game will DEFAULT to SF2 Stock weapons for the specific time period.

Copy the content of the respected folders to your folder:

"Aircraft" to your "Object Aircraft folder."

"Decals", copy the entire decals folder content and paste it onto your decal folder. I was unable to use specific squadron for decal folder, as it does not show up on the aircraft.

The following Fighter Squadron is included:

19th Fighter Squadron "Slightly Dangerous" (Mig Killer)

44th Fighter Squadron "Busty Vamp" (Mig Killer)

65th Aggressor Squadron "Size Does Matter"

199th Fighter Squadron "Pula Kahula" (Hot Mama)

  25. B-70 Valkyrie Beta (Version 0.97)

B-70 Valkyrie (Beta) by FastCargo and friends.

    ********************** Version 0.97 ***********************
(Note, this release includes the XB-70 beta released in November 2010)

SF2 Version for Dec 2010 Patch.

Models, some decals, most ini adaptions by FastCargo
Textures and most decals by Sundowner
Dyess AFB serial numbers by Dave from B-1B Redux
3D Rocket Effects by Lexx_Luthor (Lord of the Analog)
    B-1B Cockpit by Dels
    Engine Effects by Deuces, Fubar512
    Any errors are mine...

    Package contains:

XB-70 aircraft in prototype markings for AV/1 and AV/2.
    B-70A aircraft in 28BMS and 62BMS markings
    RS-70B aircraft in 337BMS markings
    B-70C aircraft in 9BS markings
High Resolution versions of the textures and bump maps
    Original Readmes
    This readme

    Notes:

This release is a beta, and as such, is somewhat incomplete. The cockpit is from the B-1B, and there are no damage textures. However, almost all other features of a full release have been included.

    Aircraft include:

XB-70 - The original research aircraft in it's actual configuration...not really set up for warfighting.

However, this set also includes semi fictional versions of operational aircraft:

B-70A - This is most probable version of the Valkyrie that would exist had it gone into production. It is done in 2 paint schemes, the high altitude anti-flash white, and a version painted in an odd silver coating designed to reduce the IR signature (as proposed by the USAF). This version also includes the wing pylons for the Skybolt ALBM, and projected pylons for the smaller nuclear gravity weapons available at the time.

RS-70B - Proposed version of the Valkyrie in an attempt to save it from the budget axe. Similiar to the B-70A in capability, but with additional reconnaissance ability similiar to SR-71. This is simulated by an internal camera window taking the location of the forward weapons bay. I projected that the RS-70B would come into existence during the late part of the Vietnam war, using the camera bay to carry the targeting laser, and dropping PGMs since conventional bombing at 80000 feet and Mach 3 would be very inaccurate. As a result, the first LGB drops in Vietnam are done by the RS-70B, not the F-4.

B-70C - Completely fictional version of the Valkyrie. In the history where the Valkyrie was produced, most of the B-52 fleet was retired very soon after the Vietnam War, only the G and H models remained to carry the AGM-86B cruise missile. The B-1 was never proposed, with the B-70A being the main gravity nuke delivery system and the RS-70B being the PGM bomber. The F-111 and FB-111 remained as the medium range, low altitude conventional and nuclear penetrator. The B-2 was designed at the outset to be a low altitude penetrator, avoiding the costly redesign the actual B-2 went through, bringing unit cost down. As it was, the B-70 and RS-70 were expected to be retired at the beginning of the 1990s as high altitude, high speed SAM systems became more and more lethal. However, after Desert Storm, the lesson was learned that big, long range SAM systems are vulnerable and expensive, but anyone can have AAA...so the doctrine was adjusted for more medium/high altitude operations with PGMs. So all Valkyries underwent a modernization to the B-70C standard, with the ability to carry all PGMs, including the JDAM, JSOW, JASSM for employment in regional conflicts.

There are a few bugs that we haven't been able to solve and may not be solvable due to simulation limitations. The main one is the AI will not take advantage of the high speed and altitude capabilities of the aircraft. Even if you create an actual mission with waypoints dictating altitudes and speeds, it will not fly those parameters (tends to fly a maximum of Mach 1.7). We are still working to squash the remaining issues...and one day we will have a proper cockpit for this machine.

This is a long range aircraft, you can hit a few of the 'walls' on several of the stock maps so give yourself plenty of turning room when planning your flight.

Have fun...report any crippling bugs (except trying to use it in SFP1/WOV/WOE/WOI...you're on your own) in the release thread at CA.
