  1. F-100D, Air Pirate

    -- For FULL-4 Merged SF2 (Prefered) and/or SF2:E/V =ONLY!!!= --

    (Can be used in any SF2 install that has the access to the F-100D)

    A "just for fun" mod . . .

    This package represents aircraft from the fictional Post-WWIII world of the novel series "The Wingman", by Mack Maloney.
    These are F-100D SuperSabres as flown by either Air Pirates, or a Freelancer ('guns for hire/Mercenaries').

    This package comes with 2 skin sets:

    "The Stukas" infamous Air/Ground Pirate gang that operated in Westen New Jersey, parts of New York, eastern Pennsylvania, parts of Ohio and that general region.

    A Plane-Jane natural metal for generic usage.

    This mod creates a new, stand-alone aircraft (not exported, with no other user). It is best used in a stand-alone mods folder that is based on the post-WW3 world of "The Wingman". Although, it may fit into the 'alternate' world of the Global Sedition vs the North American Alliance. (as do many of my terrain mods)

    Loadouts have been adjusted to reflect the 'lack' of sophisticated weapons in the Post-WW3 world (especially for the 'Bad Guys'), and include a 'nation-specific' AirPirate AIM-9B. The canopy has been set to use a manual animation key. Use Shift/0 to open and close it.

    As always, =READ= the enclosed readme for full, detailed instructions. This package has been broken down into the various folders that SF2 needs, to make it a LOT easier to install (read: drag and drop).
    Again, as usual, the expected "Notes & Ramblings of a Mad(Wing)man" section for fun.

    Go Git 'em!

    =QM-29B (9.12B) Drone=

    ======================

    Background:
    ==========

    Following the disintegration of the Soviet Union, Russian 4th-generation fighter jets could be obtained through commercial deal, rather than through defection and capture.

    Likewise, in 1992, 6 Mig-29B (9.12B) were loaned to the USA by an unnamed foreign country for evaluation, testing and, in a few occasion, training.

    For that purpose, several NATO & friends personal were detached to the 53rd Weapons Evaluation Group.

    Installation:
    =========

    *A working installation of the SF2 Mescalero Proving Grounds is required, otherwise, it will simply not work.*

    - decompress the archive to a temporary folder, on your desktop for example
    - drop the content of the "To your mod folder"... into your mod folder, confirm when asked to overwrite
    - start your game and enjoy

    The gorgeous pit is the MiG-29 Cockpit Repaint by Orsin.
    The skin is purely fictional but may not have been possible, within a lifetime span given my skills, without the amazing Mig29 Templates by Sundowner.
    ChampionsVA56 for his guidance and inspiration.

    Jane's publications, Harpoon High Tide's Data Annex, 1F-MIG29-1 flight manual, Yefim Gordon's books and posts by Tom Cooper from ACIG have been used as reference for datas' fine tuning.

    If I forgot anyone, let me know and I'll correct it asap.

    Notes:
    =====

    The QM-29B Fulcrum Drone is available from 1992 to 2002.

    It have no ECM but have four times as much chaff and flares than normal.

    The fuel transfer sequence have been made as correct as possible, so watch your fuel, and a boost to the ACM mode's ScanBeamAngle is loosely simulating the IRST device.

    If you dig in, you may notice unusual Radar Range or Max Visible Distance values. They have been set as is for an ongoing project in which a lot of such things have been normalized and in that environment, they make sense. Given the role of the platform, they should not be an issue amongst default values however.

    Be advised that the Safe Altitude have been set to 1000 feet (304.8m).

    Have fun.

  3. Nakajima Ki-101 'Heavenly Lion' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
    This is a simple mod of the stock 'AI' Thirdwire Spitfire F.9C to give a flyable 'what if' Nakajima Ki-101 interceptor-fighter of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force in mid-1945.
    This mod requires you to have Expansion Pack 1 so that you have the necessary Third Wire Spitfire LOD's that are, of course, not included here.

    BACKSTORY
    In February 1943 the unfortunate Pilot Office P. Lonker of No.64 squadron descended through the fog to land his brand-new Spitfire IX at the Luftwaffe airfield near Brest in the mistaken belief that it was his home base of Hornchurch. Whilst the Spitfire was no secret to the Germans this pristine example was gratefully received and sent to the Dornier factory in Altenrhein (Switzerland) where it was studied in detail with production drawings made and tooling fabricated for the proposed production of the Spitfire for the Swiss Air Force.
    However, during the early Spring of 1944 the decision was made to ship the drawings and tooling to the Nakajima Aircraft Company in Japan for production of the Spitfire for defence against American bombers including the B-29 then just coming into service in forward bases in China and India. Designated as the Ki-101 'Heavenly Lion' production started quickly enough but disaster struck when the Ota factory was bombed (ironically by B-29's) in December 1944 with only a handful of aircraft completed and all without engines as Aichi Atsuta had failed to deliver a single example of the licence-built Daimler-Benz DB605 engine. Miraculously, production restarted in February 1945 with the first Aichi built engines arriving in March allowing the first squadron to re-equip in May 1945. Production records indicate that only 45 Ki-101's were manufactured and there were no recorded incidents of air combat between the 'Heavenly Lion' and allied aircraft

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the SpitfireF9_IJAAF folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the SpitfireF9_IJAAF folder into your main Decals folder.
    Pilot - Almost certainly you'll have a Third Wire 'Jet Jock' flying your 'Heavenly Lion' so you'll need to swap him out for something more appropriate.
    N.B. Once you installed your aircraft you'll find it named Ki-101 'Heavenly Lion' in the drop-down menu. For best results you will need to manipulate your nations list to include the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force.
    That's it!

    McDonnell Douglas Phantom F-4M_89 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2:EUROPE AND FULL MERGED INSTALLS.

    This is a simple mod of the stock Third Wire Phantom FGR.2 (F-4M_75) to give a fictional 'Kiwi' Phantom
    with markings for No.2 squadron of the Royal New Zealand Air Force as they might have appeared during
    the 1990's.

    BACKSTORY

    During the build up to Operation Corporate (the UK's military operation to retake the Falkland Islands) the UK
    Government were overwhelmed at the support given by the countries of the Commonwealth and, in particular,
    the response of the Australian and New Zealand Governments who provided ships to maintain the UK's NATO
    commitments and thus allow the Royal Navy to maximise the number of ships it could send to the South Atlantic.

    In the following years there were many reciprocal deals made and favours given to the Commonwealth nations
    (and even Chile!) and one such 'favour' was the transfer of 18 ex-RAF Phantom FGR.2's in 1988. The 18 FGR.2's,
    only recently withdrawn from RAF service, were ferried out to New Zealand (most still in their dirty grey camo
    scheme) during Operation Saddleback before arriving at Ohakea for refurbishment by a joint McDonnell Douglas
    /RNZAF team that saw the aircraft eventually emerge in a new 'Forest' style camo scheme and with digital INAS,
    upgraded RWR and new outer wing panels. Entering service with No.2 squadron in early 1989 (supposedly as the
    Karearea but they were always simply called Phantoms) the aircraft gave good service to the Royal New Zealand
    Air Force during the 1990's until finally being retired in December 2001 when, indeed, all 'Air Combat Force'
    aircraft were sadly withdrawn from service.

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Drop the F-4M_89_NZ folder into your Aircraft folder.

    2. Drop the SUU-23G folder into your Weapons folder.

  5. This is my F-4E_90_NZ Fictional mod for all Merged SF2 games and any Standalone game that includes ThirdWire’s stock F-4E_78.

    Inspired by Spinner’s F-4M_89_NZ I decided to have an F-4E RNZAF mod. I had a Kiwi F-4E mod already right from the start but never uploaded it. Mr. DTM Dragon has uploaded a mod previously and many of these skins can be adapted to work with his mod if you want. However because most of the skins in this mod are new I have decided to upload and share. Over half the skins are from Sundowner and the rest by myself on ThirdWire’s templates and Sundowners templates. Decals are stock and Spinners and some by me.

    To install just extract and copy and paste the Aircraft Folder into the Aircraft Folder and Decals into Decals Folder.

    I have restricted the loadout a little, RNZAF is only small so not a large weapons arsenal. However if the RNZAF deployed overseas in a combat role we would most likely get supplies from American, Britain and even Australia. So you can tinker there if you want.

    I have added Mercenary skins as well. They are Generic so you can mod those skins into any Air Force you want. They are fictional and are purely for fun.

    Plus another Easter Egg Folder. One to go straight into F-4_78 folder and the other into the F-4D_78 stock folders, decals are all generic.

    Thanks to TK and ThirdWire for the great game and sim.

    To CombatAce for this Forum.

    To Sundowner and Spinners.

  6. LOTR RNZAF Kfir C.16 "Raiona"

    -- For SF2, Full-4 Merged =ONLY!!!=

    This mod creates a fully new aircraft, an EXTENSIVELY upgraded Kfir "C16" as might be used by the RNZAF.

    It =REQUIRES= a Full-4 Merged install, or at the very least, SF2:I and SF2:V for the various and sundry bits used herein. If you do NOT have the minimum required game installs, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS MOD, as you won't be able to use it.

    3 new skins, (partly redrawn from stock) and their attendant decals are included. No aircraft or cockpit parts (lods, bmps/tga/jpg) are included, as they use all 'internal' bits pulled from the various game cat files (in a similiar fashion as the Panama Mirage IIIPN).

    The 3 skins "represent" some of the aspects of the "Forces of Good" from the LOTR series:

    Rohan1 = Shieldmaidens (a squadron of mostly female pilots!!!)
    Rohan2 = Riders of Rohan
    Gondor = Stewards of Gondor

    Each with a different fin-flash.

    Modifications to the base model include (but not limited to), addition of landing lights, correcting the positions of the taillights, activating the canopy via an manual animation key (use Shift/0 to open and close), massive upgrading of the avionics suite (included new jammers and CM dispensers). Other mods include the addition of a laser designator for prescision strike, new A-A & A-G radars, and many other 'hidden' changes.

    NOTE: most, if not all, of the weapons used are STOCK. With possibly 2 exceptions, and they're not presently used.

    As always, READ the enclosed readme for full, detailed instructions. This package has been broken down into the various folders that SF2 needs, to make it a LOT easier to install (read: drag and drop).

    Have fun with it!!

  7. Skin for the Jordan F-16 that u can find here Jordan F16

    In 2012 Venezuelan Government Decides to improve their last F-16s in order to keep them and use them for 15 + years more, the new upgrade is the Block 20, really similar to the Jordan version, since the F-16 was going to be phased out by the new incoming J-10 or Mig-35 the AMB "venezuelan airforce" test a new Digital camo on them, two versions; Jordan Style and Night Fighter based on the US marpat, also the Block 20 adds anti ship capabilities to the F16, maybe we can see in the future a Venezuelan Armada Fighter Wing with this F-16s (actually im thinking of making a naval blue digital to this F16).

    Enjoy it.

    whats new?

  8. Hispano-Suiza HA.210 Hidalgo (Nobleman) for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 (Israel or Quad-Merged)

    I modded the stock MiG-17F from SFP:I to make it look like a fictional fighter plane for the spanish air force.

    BACKGROUND

    The HA.200 Saeta, the precessor of the Hidalgo, was Spains first real jetfighter. But it didn't have enough power to stand a dogfight. So it was degraded to a trainer for the spanish piloting school.

    While trying to improve the plane and creating the HA.220 Super Saeta, another team of Hispano-Suizas R&D department was involved in the planification and construction of a plane able to be some worthy opponent in close dogfights.

    Three years later, the Hidalgo did it's maiden flight. The US was shocked about the capabilities of this tiny plane.
    Spain used this plane for long time, offering US-pilots a chance to test their dogfighting skills in their F-86 Sabres. The plane presented here was part of the Ala 6.

  9. SAAB/Mitsubishi JF-35J Draken for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2

    I modded the fictional F-13 Draken from Spinners to make it look like a fictional fighter and recon plane for the japanese self defense force.

    BACKGROUND
    Due to some cuttings in the budget of the military administration, the JASDF was forced to look for some suitable substitute for the Starfighter, which became more and more expensive in maintenance.

    US-Planes still remained expensive, Soviet planes were no alternative due to pacts Japan was bound to. Sweden, as a neutral country not belonging to the Warsaw Pact, offered a good alternative with the J-35 Draken. Japan ordered two complete squadrons and dropped the Starfighter.

  10. Hawker Hunter F.6M for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
    Requires SF2 DLC 001: Hunter F.6 (60) Royal Netherlands Air Force
    This is a very simple mod of the above to give a fictional Hunter F.6M in service with RAF South Atlantic Command with markings for No.1435 Flight. You will need to have the new 'DLC' Hunter as this mod will not work with any Hunter that isn't DLC 001 although you are welcome to reverse engineer it to suit what Hunter(s) you have in your install.

    BACKSTORY
    The introduction of the Lightning F.1 and F.1A into RAF Fighter Command in 1960 and 1961 began to free-up Hunter F.6's most of which were earmarked for conversion into ground-attack aircraft for the RAF (as the FGA.9) or for export. But the Falklands Crisis of May 1961 led to the decision to base a detachment of fighter aircraft at RAF Stanley and a batch of 8 Hawker Hunter F.6's were urgently converted into F.6M's a minimum-change conversion armed with the Firestreak missile and improved navigation and radio equipment. The first four Hunter F.6M's were dispatched as deck cargo arriving at Port Stanley in September 1961 to form No.1435 Flight who quickly christened the aircraft Faith, Hope, Charity and Desperation. The second batch of Hunters arrived in December 1961 but, with improving diplomatic relations, they were basically used to keep the original four aircraft airworthy until a rotation policy was adopted. The Hunter F.6M's served until 1972 when they were replaced by Lightning F.2A's.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the HunterF6M folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the HunterF6M folder into your Decals folder.

  13. Mikoyan Gurevych MiG-29EE Força Aerea Portuguesa for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2

    I modded the MiG-29 from The Mirage Factory to make it look like a fictional fighter for the portuguese air force.

    BACKGROUND
    The cooperation with IAI in developing the MiG-29I Shu'Al demonstrated the Mikoyan Gurevych OKB the possiblities and rentability of exporting the plane to the West with some modifications.

    As a modern and at the same time relatively cheap fighter compared to other western planes, the MiG-29EE was the result of the adaptation of the plane to the needs of the western air forces. The abbreviation EE stands for 'Europe Export'. Since the cold war was over and the "enemy" was no longer existing, Mikoyan Gurevych OKB had no problems in offering one of the best planes of the former Soviet Union to european countries.

    Portugal, whose military still suffered from budget restrictions, decided to replace the expensive F-16 with the more affordable MiG-29EE and equipped the 201st Squadron with this type while the 301st had to wait to replace the Dragao with the MiG-29.

    Background:
    In exchange for the losses, both civil and military, during the second Iraq war, Spain received the opportunity of buying planes with stealth technology for a lower price. Together with the F-35E 'Lobo' (Wolf) for the 8th escuadrilla, Spain acquired 18 A/F-24 which made service in the 9th escuadrilla. All these planes were bought and put into service in 2004.

  17. Fictional mod of Julhelm great A/F-24 to create a fighter plane for the japanese air self defense force.

    Background:
    Japan wanted to replace their ageing F-4EJ planes from the 302nd Hikotai. In order to be able to perform attacks without prior detection by the enemy, Japan was interested in buying the F-22. Resulting too expensive for their budget, the Pentagon offered Japan the Shadowcat as a cheaper solution. After Desert Storm in 1991, the high command of the israeli air force recognized the need of a carrier-based strike force to improve their reaction capabilities in a modern conflict. For this aim, the purchase of two french aircraft carriers of the Clemenceau-class was planned. As aircraft for the carriers, the IDF wanted an adaptated version of the AV-8B+.

    In 1994, the carrier purchase was cancelled due to budget restrictions, but the adapted Harrier called Ze'ev was kept and did service in the 193th Squadron.

  19. Republic F-7C Thunderstorm for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
    This is a very simple mod of the stock MiG-23ML/P to give a fictional Republic F-7C Thunderstorm in service with the 428th and 429th Tactical Fighter Squadrons in the Vietnam SEA style skin with 'Combat Lancer' rudder flashes.
    The USAF SEA style scheme is a lucky find as it's one of the stock Czech camo schemes! Thanks TK!

    BACKSTORY
    During late 1958 the Langley Laboratory made the breakthrough that led to the realisation of a valid variable-sweep wing and by early 1959 Tactical Air Command (TAC) could see that this massive technological breakthrough could be the key to help them in their search for a tactical strike fighter to replace both the F-100 Super Sabre and the F-105 Thunderchief. Pretty soon however the numerical values for unrefuelled range and payload that TAC had attached to their mission requirements had the effect of turning all the paper studies from F-105 sized machines to much larger tactical bombers with a corresponding increase in cost and price and this reduced affordability was of great concern to TAC.
    In the Autumn of 1959 TAC wisely decided to split their requirement into a smaller tactical fighter to replace the F-100 and a larger tactical bomber to replace the F-105, B-57 and B-66. The larger aircraft would evolve into Specific Operational Requirement No.183 that would launch the important TFX (tactical fighter experimental) programme and eventually lead (via a tortuous route) to the outstanding but highly compromised F-111 family whilst the smaller aircraft would lead to Specific Operational Requirement No.182 or TAX (tactical aircraft experimental).
    Issued in March 1960 SOR182 called for a single-seat tactical fighter aircraft with “reduced dependence of paved runways” and with “the ability to carry a nuclear bomb at supersonic speed at tree-top height”. Requests for Proposals were immediately sent out to industry and Republic Aviation’s proposal soon gained the support of TAC by virtue of its use of a variable-sweep wing but also by the use of the existing J75 turbojet and F-105 avionics. With the end of F-105 production on the horizon Republic Aviation pushed hard for SOR182/TAX and in February 1961 they were rewarded with a contract for 24 prototype and pre-production YF-110 aircraft and 400 production F-110A machines and Republic wasted no time in bestowing the name of ‘Thunderstorm’ to the latest of their long line of fighter aircraft.

    Republic Aviation were fortunate in being awarded the contract before Secretary of Defence Robert S. McNamara had got into his stride and the programme largely escaped McNamara and his whiz-kids. Development moved swiftly and during 1962 the programme was re-designated F-7 under the new tri-service designation scheme and the first prototype took to the air on December 22nd 1962 a full year ahead of the F-111A. Entering service in June 1965 the F-7A was followed by the F-7B two-seat trainer version and the more advanced F-7C version that first deployed to Vietnam in March 1968 when a two-squadron wing transferred to Takhli Royal Thia AFB, Thailand in a deployment called ‘Combat Lancer’.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-7C folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-7C folder into your Decals folder.
    That's it!

  20. Fictional mod of the stock MiG-21MF to make it look like a fictional fighter plane for the spanish air force.

    YOU WILL NEED BOTH SF2:E AND SF2:I AT LEAST TO GET THIS PLANE RUNNING!

    BACKGROUND

    In the end of the 1960s, the HA.210 Hidalgo got outdated due to the appearance of new fighters and weapons. The new Semi-Active Homing-Technology made the Hidalgo a easy target for medium and long-range attacks. A new fighter, able of carrying the allied equivalent, tha AIM-7 Sparrow, was needed. Hispano-Suiza and CASA competed in the production of this new plane.

    Hispano-Suiza won the competition with the fighter called "Trueno". The design was sleak but robust. The maiden-flight of the plane was on the 21st of January of 1971 and the 111th and 113th squadron were supplied with this plane in December of the same year.

  22. This is a mod of TMF's F-14B (96) to make it look like a multirole aircraft from the israeli air force.

    BACKGROUND:
    Being impressed of the interception capabilities of the F-14 combined with the AIM-54 Phoenix, the IDF decided to order themselves a modified version of the F-14B, the bombing capable version of the Tomcat. Modifications were performed by IAI. The modifications also needed the AIM-54C to be modified.

    Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, the national arms manufacturer, created, based on the construction plans of the Phoenix, the 'Serpent' LRAAM, which design was identical to the Phoenix but with israeli electronics inside. The missile was extensely tested over the mediterranean sea and proofed to be equal to the AIM-54 concerning performance, reliability and accuracy. Primary role was the interception of incoming enemy planes from seaside long before reaching the coast and secondary role was Strike and Anti-Ship-Missions.

    Two squadrons got equipped with the 'Peten':
    The Valley Squadron (109th) grey camo
    Flying Dragon Squadron (115th) desert camo
