+ST0RM Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 The crew of an F-15E Strike Eagle went down this morning in Afghanistan. Pray for the families of both and for the squadron mates they left behind who are still out there doing the job. -Jeff
TheStig Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 May they rest in peace... I hope this was not a combat-related loss.
+EricJ Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 It said Eastern Afghanistan, so they could have been doing a drop and messed up horribly or something other than that. Really hard to figure out since that's the first crash I know of in that area (my old stomping grounds).
MAKO69 Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 May they rest in peace... I hope this was not a combat-related loss. Stig they were in a combat zone, so it will go on recored as such probably.

+ST0RM Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 RAF huh? Wow, less than a full month since the Brits pulled out of the 'Deid, they've started back up in Afghanistan.
+ST0RM Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 BTW, the names of the two Strike Eagle crewmen were released. Capt. Thomas J. Gramith, 27, of Eagan, Minn. Capt. Mark R. McDowell, 26, of Colorado Springs, Colo.
+JediMaster Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I heard it was a mechanical fault, but I suppose that wasn't an official report?
