Decided to try it from the Red perspective using the Su-35...

The thing to remember since my opponent was a clean F/A-18F was that relatively that I was a lot heavier and I think he got some hits on me though I definitely saw him fire at me at least three times so who knows... Anyways a clean Super Hornet will get around you while you try and use burner (highly recommended) quite a bit until you kill the bastich. But I managed to get a good hit with him with an AA-11 clipping him good. Must be warhead weight is lower because i hit him again a couple times and he still kept on trucking so I had to shoot him down with an Alamo-C (even though the first one missed).

Maybe it'd be a good idea to make a DACT topic and sticky it? Therefore we can get better ideas on how to work the knife fight with various aircraft?

Well the thing is in a BVR fight I probably would have already been shot down so I'm not saying the Super Hornet isn't a touigh opponent is just you have to think more when you gotta deal with all that weight :good:

Republic Thunderwarrior F.1A - No.111 'Treble One' Squadron, RAF Fighter Command, 1964

You know, if you didn't know a lot about military aircraft, especially history, you wouldn't know what a lot of aircraft were designed to do by just seeing a clean (no ordinance) picture of it. F-4, British Lighting, Harrier, F-15, B-52, etc.

Not so with the F-103 (and aircraft like the Concorde, U-2, etc). You look at it and instantly know it was designed to go really fast in a straight line....

Now that you mention that book you could conceivably go that route for a mission

But yeah it's a beautiful plane and more than likely the guy did it. Definitely a nice plane...
