F5TigerIIGuy Posted March 27 Posted March 27 1988 - F-4E Phamtom II ‘DH770’ converted into RF-4Dh (Dhimari subvariant of RF-4X) under project ‘Peace Sol’. In part to give Dhimar their own strategic reconnaissance capability instead of the Shah solely relying on the Israeli RF-4X detachment stationed in RAF Canopic. 8
Gepard Posted March 27 Posted March 27 The F-4E(F) was a planed single seated Phantom for the german Luftwaffe with F-104G radar system, slotted wings an additional fuel tank at the place of the backseater and no air to air refuelling capacity. It was not realized. Germany instead acquired the F-4F. 8
F5TigerIIGuy Posted March 28 Posted March 28 (edited) 04/12/‘15 - An anonymous Dhimari UH-1 Huey Mechanic stationed at RAF Canopic snaps a grainy photo of an unknown aircraft. A day later, the picture showed up on a now defunct Internet forum dedicated to Dhimar’s Air Force. The image was accompanied with a caption that translated to “As the tensions with Paran get worse, the Americans have brought something strange with them” About four days later, the account that made the original post was completely wiped from the internet, and all traces of the unidentified aircraft on the surface web were erased in the following few days. It is unknown what happened to the anonymous mechanic, and internet investigations headed by various groups of so-called “lost media enthusiasts” turned up nothing related to the incident. It is rumored the picture can still be found on various spots on the Dark Web, but even then there is no proof to that claim. (F/A-37A Talon landing at RAF Canopic with some filters and a cool little backstory, enjoy ) Edited March 28 by F5TigerIIGuy Accidentally sent the image twice oops 3

allenjb42 Posted April 24 Posted April 24 It's 1986, and 112 Sqn, one of the resident units at RAF Canopic, take their new Falcon FGR.2 fighters out for a spin off the coast of Paran in a show of force in support of Dhimar as tensions build on the border yet again... 10

daddyairplanes Posted May 22 Posted May 22 The Panthers transition from the old SEA scheme to the regulation Gunship Gray took place during the beginning of Allied Force. The 3rd AF marked jet (liked by CINC USAFE and beleived to be the reason the Liberty Wing CO wasnt fired for the unauthorized paint jobs across the 494th) was the last to be repainted (hey, i couldnt just let this camo go for one bird only...) 5

This picture immediately made me think of the scene in Independence day, where the RAF pilots in the desert are having "the plan" explained to them while an F-16 in RAF desert colours and with roundels sits in the background of the shot. 1
Cliff7600 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) It took me long to start trying stuff with HUDs. I wanted to use all the width available and I'm happy with the result, especially the ILS on the side and the VVS indicator. I did other weird things like punching holes in the belly Old material for both aircraft and cockpit. Edited 2 hours ago by Cliff7600 2 1
