    View File Fw-190 Cockpit Repaint for Torno's FW190's Here is a (decidedly average) repaint of Torno's FW-190 cockpit for use in his excellent range of Fw-190's. I made it for my personal use but maybe the five of us (me, Kev and other kindred spirits) who still use SF2 to sim WW2 can get some use out of it. Made for SF2, it's the needed jpg's ONLY. Which 190 is it? Well, I started with the A as a basis but you can use it in any of Torno's beautiful Wurgers. The one here is the one featuring "moar gunz" - of course. Not 100% accurate, there's always compromises that have to be made, but it is what it is. INSTALLATION: Copy and paste the jpg's from this file into your 190 (of whatever flavor) cockpit folder. Back up the corresponding original files in case you want to revert. That's it. CREDITS: - TORNO for the great range of Fw-190's. Excellent work amigo.     View File Ju-88 Cockpit repaint for Veltro2K's Ju-88 - Kesselbrut's Cockpit Here is a (decent) repaint of the supplied Kesselbrut's Mosquito cockpit for use in Veltro2K's Ju88's. Again, I made it for my personal use but maybe the five of us (me, Kev and other kindred spirits) who still use SF2 to sim WW2 can get some use out of it. Made for SF2, it's the needed bmp's, one tga, and the cockpit.ini file ONLY. I wasn't happy with the way some of the gauges were presenting, so I've made some changes. The cockpit textures are 2048x2048, in the old days we didn't have the horsepower to run such large cockpit textures, but those days are long gone. Resize them if you do experience any problems. Not 100% accurate, there's always compromises that have to be made, but it is what it is, I have done my best. INSTALLATION: Copy and paste the bmp's and tga from this file into your V2K Ju88 cockpit folder. Place the cockpit.ini in the main aircraft folder. Back up the corresponding original files in case you want to revert. That's it. Note that although this is made for the Ju88C, it will work in any of Veltro's Ju88's, and I guess you could use it any any German twin engine bomber without a decent cockpit.     View File He-162 Cockpit repaint for Geo's Volksjager Cockpit Here is a (strangely done) repaint of Geo's He-162 cockpit for use in his He-162 Volksjager. As usual, I made it for my personal use but maybe the five of us (me, Kev and other kindred spirits) who still use SF2 to sim WW2 can get some use out of it. Made for SF2, it's the needed bmp's AND TGA's ONLY. This was a strange one in that most of the panel gauges are TGA's. Had to learn how to do them again :( The cockpit textures are 2048x2048, in the old days we didn't have the horsepower to run such large cockpit textures, but those days are long gone. I HIGHLY recommend you get any of Julio Junqueira's excellent 109 pits and grab the optional pilot legs and drop them in your 190. They work fine and I'm sure you have them already. You should.     View File SF2 IAI Saar (EG) Pack SF2 IAI Saar (EG) Pack 6/14/2024 -For SF2, Any and All- (Full 5 Merged Suggested -SF2E &/or SF2I ) -Another 1stGen Salvage Operation- This is a rebuild of EricGen's 1stGen Dassault/IAI Super Mystere 'Saar', as used by the Israeli Air Force and Honduran Air Force from the 1970s through the 1990s. This mod is set up and labeled to cause NO conflicts with the Super Mystere Saar available from within the game (Third Wire) or any mods of the stock bird that may exist. Skins remain in their original bmp format. Most markings are decals, with the exception of the orange colored ID bands on one of the IDF skins. Decal Randomization is TRUE. All necessary items are provided, decals, weapons, pilots, sounds, and so forth. Some you've probably got already. If I missed any, PLEASE let me know and I'll get it fixed. The canopy operates with the Standard Animations Keystroke (tm), Shift/0 (zero). The cockpit provided is one of Stary's superb works, and can also be used on the stock 3W version of the Saar (as for some reason, "out of the box" it's not player flyable). The aircraft is supplied with a number skins for the varying Air Forces: Israel: No.105 Sqdn "The Scorpion" (3-tone) No.105 Sqdn (3-tone w/ID trangles <10/73) Honduras: IDF 3-tone (as delivered in 1976) Camo 2, Late (2-tone greys <1985) As indicated above, you can see the the SF2 "date switch" is active. When in-game, on the Aircraft Selection Drop down you'll see: Saar (EG) So you can't mistake it for anything other than what it is. This will also differentialize THIS one from the 3W Super Mystere Saar that's stock in game. The "EG" of course, is for EricGen. As always fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. All original readmes, when discoverable, are included.     Didn't the tests back in the 1960's with the X-15 generate temperatures greater than 1,200°F in their airframe tests at mach 6? Not sure there'd be people standing in the wings unless they were skeletal charcoal remains.

    Here in the U.S., it is the day after Memorial Day. Still fresh in my mind is remembering and reflecting on the ultimate sacrifices made. And another reminder of how important it is to set aside our differences, and unify our thoughts and prayers around a common purpose. And then each year as Summer heats up, it gets me re-energized around Vietnam as the August Gulf of Tonkin anniversary comes around that escalated everything. And all that got me thinking… The old glory days of widespread Vietnam interest have faded away, and today a much smaller and fragmented approach remains. In my humble opinion, while individual projects and personal initiatives arise that are commendable, it no longer makes sense to continue to stand-up siloed projects. We have eBurger’s legendary SF2V Air & Ground War, YAP and Revamped YAP, When Thunder Rolled, Capun’s Vietnam creations, individual project efforts and more. Every one of these projects for various reasons have decided to “go at it alone” with a select group of participants and insiders. And yet every one of them is re-creating the same things over and over again; offering different flavors/versions like the terrain, aircraft, ground objects, etc. Can we consider a new and perhaps better approach this year? I would like to propose joining forces and the unification of all these projects. Bringing together, where it makes sense and is mutually agreeable, all available Vietnam project components, assets and team talents for those willing. And we set a new quality and ethical baseline, a fresh start, collaborating to ensure we use only purified assets - those that have received proper permission and credit. This ethical approach not only honors the original creators but also upholds the integrity of the new unified vision. One initial plan and consideration could be to deliver the project in phases. Starting with the most important aspects of the war, obviously for me that is Operation Rolling Thunder. And then expand to cover additional campaigns/strategies such as the Tet Offensive, Lam Son 719, and more. Along the way we expand and cover what is needed – such as supporting/major helo operations (LZ X-Ray a must), Search and Rescues including BAT 21 Bravo, Recon aircraft such as Bird Dogs over the A Shau Valley and more. We compare assets, we leverage what is best available from across the projects and where appropriate create a trusted sharing arrangement. And it’s done in a controlled and manageable “piece by piece” approach broadening out the scope covering more and more aspects of the war. I don't have all the answers on the nitty gritty how and what about this, or what about that - I'm just trying to first assess the possibility and potential interest. Let me also say, that I have been blessed and trusted by many modders with literally countless source files, permissible contributions and assets related to Vietnam. Being a Vietnam fanatic, I have meaningful relationships in some capacity with every one of these separate Vietnam-era projects underway, including all project leaders. I am already reaching out to them to further explore this idea and others as well. In full transparency, having access to and being a major contributor to the When Thunder Rolled project opens up incredible new options and considerations no longer exclusively payware and many more options for freeware and donation-based approaches. For example, instead of creating yet another terrain foundation, perhaps the WTR terrain that already included the ground-breaking original/enhanced version with rail lines, Ho Chi Minh trails, NVA camps and countless other details could simply be leveraged - and then simply enhanced for accuracy and "updated" vs. having to “do it all over again.” Obviously just one example, but when scaled to the entire scope of possible assets becomes a major accelerator to enhancing Vietnam-era assets with better options available today. I am wondering if we could set aside and work through our past and differences, and look towards a different future. By coming together and unifying our efforts, we can combine the best of our resources, talents, and ideas. This unity not only becomes a rallying point, but also fosters a sense of community and love for a shared purpose among all participants. We can create a cohesive and powerful tribute that far surpasses anything we could achieve alone. Could this be a possibility; what are your thoughts?
