  1. gotta take the paint off before you can repaint a bird....
  2. last unhelpful post for the night. not sure but it might say this in japanese or why not get a current one of similar scale and match up? (lame attempt at usefulness)
  3. you could read the japanese. just not well enough to know what your reading. besides, years of Godzilla movies and Hasegawa or Fujimi models have taught you nothing?
  4. dammit Dave, you know you just reset teh clock on that two weeks.
  5. Congrats! And this time try to get your first 5 jumps before jackin up your knees! XD
  6. My name is daddyairplanes, and i'm an alcohlic. Oh wait wrong group. I too approve.
  7. Just as teh title says. evening 2 Sep 14, esp weird was the messages left on the site one stating Well this just sucks. I went to the place it normally is and it wasn't there. MySQL answered, "Nobody is home, try again later." Because I'm nice I saved the report above. Please contact someone and hurry people are getting impatient. and the other saying "Hello it's Marvin the MySQL database. If you are seeing this page I've finally lost it. I no longer can add two plus two and come up with five, that's close right? I wrote down a few things above and it's possible something is messed up with stuff. When hitchhiking the universe, don't forget your towel. " those are what makes me wonder what happened
  8. Awesome. Looking forward to the templates (and postponing the upgrade i was gonna do). Some suggestions SKE dome post 72 (not all had it, but enough to make it missed) No chaff/flare dispenser until late 90s Early cockpit, or at least earlier than the one in current use. A side door, and the ability to load 64 paratroopers for that one way trip A Roman nose would be nice, but i know your feelings on that. still mention it in hopes you change you mind And finally, pm me the templates lol. Euro 1, other NATO users, and that desert scheme the USAF put on a few birds. Zippers/Hunters/Vipers are fun, but the Hercs keep the campaigns supplied!
  9. is it dead? not when you have folks fixing things like putting "the meatball" on the carriers! http://combatace.com/topic/83723-lso-or-carrier-landing-aid-mod/
  10. Kyot, the only slatted Navy Phantoms were the S's, introduced in 1978-79 and mostly going to the Marines at that. Naval reserves used the S from 83-86 and VF-151 and 161 used them. VF-21 and 154 flew the S for one year but the N was found to handle better around the Coral Sea. Do, the Phantom never was the best at anything it did. It strength was its ability to do anything asked of it (intercept, cas, strike, SEAD, recce, CAP) and its literal strength that brought many a crew home where other planes would be lost. Just a historical two cents to throw in.
  11. haven't seen the show (not much time and Disney Channel tends to be the main thing on cable) but from what i've read on the show plot vs reading the book many moons ago i should hope the plots dont match. kinda hard for most in the 2014 audience to relate to global thermonuclear war. Fubar, it sucks getting old. i was gonna say 15 years ago but know i read it during the year my dad got out the army, putting it squarely around '93. just dawned on me that that isnt 15 years ago............
  12. well interesting turn of events. She's evidently in the news because of the fact that she wouldn't be interested in any of the gents here. or there or anywhere for that matter. although why do the pretty lesbians always have a girlfriend that looks like a man? pron lied to us.......
  13. Enjoyable show. Saw them at Pope AFB open house backnwhen the Hogs were still stationed there. All performers cruised ovrr military housing on Bragg during the practices Thurs and Fri of that week, although the Hogs came in the lowest!
  14. preciate the update Ceasar. knew you weren't gone, but just hadnt heard much outta you. of course Uncle Sam has the tendency to keep one VERY busy or Very bored. notice more capitals on the very for busy. as for the nose stripes, are you doing them on the skin or as tga? if tga, i've danced it around the Phantom's schnoz before, could take a look at it for the Tomcat. for ALCON, would a Herc escape and evade count in here? think i remember about a crew in Vietnam that got a manuever kill after getting chased up North thru the mountains.
  15. me so sad. none of the Max versions i can d/l for free are backwards compatable to 2009...

  16. Very nice, and an excellent backstory
  17. Caesar! (To the tune of everyone yelling Norm) What have you been upto since you got back to CONUS? Thats when you seem to have tapered off the posts and mods
  18. both are still around here, but fairly active with other things now. EricJ esp shifted his attn over to ArmA and internet cats lately. but agreed they were some great reads when this thread started
  19. well if our resident Polish meteorologist can get back to work, then i suppose i really should get off my butt and release this...
  20. as i recall, the middle scheme served as a basis for the Mod Eagle. from Aerofax's book on the Eagle, had it years (and many moves) ago
  21. the second Gerald Ford class is supposed to be named Enterprise.
  22. too my knowledge, one did, along with two others in other schemes. they were used to choose the final scheme for the Strike Eagle.
  23. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men.
  24. Yes it did double post. Stupid tablet, but it's what i get for posting at school. And no comments about equipment only as smart as the operator thak you! XD
  25. Well the main aspect of the -14 and -15 was to kill em at a distance. Tech and doctrine had caught up to make bvr a reality, not a pipedream like vietnam. A quote by an eagle driver i recall went something to the tune of "sure i can beat anyone in a phonebooth. But if we let them grt that close somebody seriously f ked up..." Modification of the request for a historically plausible scenario...... F-14A v Multiple Mig-17/21. VF-1 and -2 were on westpac snd on Dixie Station during April 1975. While the CAP was not hassled IRL........
