Time to improve the old SF2 jets
daddyairplanes replied to GKABS's topic in Mods & Skinning Discussion
for parking, alot of pics show the bottom speed brake dropped down when parked. admittedly, was looking as the chute thru the top speed brake didnt look right. i recall reading that only the sides deployed when the landing gear was down. but i wouldnt trust that memory (its not a recent one) and most landing pics actually dont show the speed brakes being used -
ok, at its heart SF2 is still a Vietnam based game why else would we be keeping track of sandbags hit?

gives me hope for updated Block 10 Vipers (A and B) edit 1: on a seperate note, already busy serial number hunting ANG Hogs and Vipers for the 1980s. must resist urge to add gun nosed Phantoms...... edit 2: it is rude to ask for more when someone does a mass of work. but.... it happens. i release a skin pack and promptly get asked about units in Vietnam (not interested) or post 9/11 (nah, Balad/Bagram/KAF memories can stay in my head thank you) or training units (i dont do them). after i release something covering every airframe over every year and every unit of an aircraft types career! so i get Yakarov79's point, but personally tend to let it go ok no more. got to get back to school work

ditto on contact on FB but will also say, did you experiment and try adding said line? copy and paste from a working mod install (say ODS30AE or Crisis in the Med) -

you could release the skins, or even the whole aircraft MINUS the lods. then require end user to download his original Tornado model, and copy over the lods. the skins and ini edits are all you and shouldnt be an issue to release been done before, especially with DAT products. so its A path forward but will also ask and see if anyone's heard form them since august last year

looking damn good as for the US Air Force, i think it looks good where it is. it wouldnt be as visible on teh intake when you have weps on the pylons. of course you could also leave it off like the regular Eagles did as well and put the insignia there as for 1975 entry date, im not quite so sure. the three ADTAC units that swapped 106s for Eagles, the 5th 48th and 318th, did so in 81, 83 and 85 respectively. much of the air defense of CONUS moved to the ANG starting in the late 70s, and the active duty FISs tended to retire their 106s without replacement, disbanding shortly afterwards. in 75 GEN Chappie James (the RL Chappie) did a test flight in the Tomcat and strongly advocated for getting some for the FIS mission. Congress and big Air Force disagreed but its your world. you make the DoD budget what you want it to be
