  1. Florida Makos; the only Charlies in the Reserves
  2. could it be something from when IAI upgraded Turkish Phantoms in the late 90s? thought i had when you mentions Israeli and late Turkish birds...
  3. before they had NVGs, Hog pilots had other ways to navigate at night the game tried loading Mk46 torpedoes intially for some reason. wonder if this secondary target was that reason.....
  4. So, many of us old heads/regular contributors are ranking up and either "Proficient" or "Experienced". Sometime this year, somebody will become "Grand Master" When that happens, do we get to pick our full title? if so, i'm calling dibs on Grand Master Flash
  5. or alternately, i thought he was creating a first posts thread. 1st for 2 of required to be able to download some of the new member posts are interesting, but its vastly better than "wHy cAn'T I DownLOad?" was I will agree that the lead post here is a little hard to follow
  6. Mrs Cleo isnt a member on this site. without some more input from you, we cant really give you too much advise, and that advise would vary anyhow Flanker likes Super Hornets (ie post 2001) and flying off carriers I myself like Air Force birds, from post Nam up to Allied Force (so before 2000) and doing air to mud work. so we're gonna have two different view points on whats good what aircraft are you interested in? what era do you like best? what theater of combat interests you most? tell us that and we could steer you in much better direction but some general advice youre gonna get is to fly it, practice and learn yourself. the lesson will stick alot better than reading in a forum
  7. well, the other guy beat me to it i should make mention of that in the readme, except that 99% of end users dont read those. but yes, it was intended for a timeframe outside of stock installs. if youre running stock, you'll have problems galore. a big clue in the future that you need to change the install or terrain dates is if you select an aircraft and it only has one year available to play in
  8. start over with the original inis. add the desired units one at a time to the end of each needed ini in the terrain , using the next number in line for that given ini do this one squadron at a time, check back in if you get an issue. be prepared to share the modified inis so we can see whats screwy
  9. rc007 also did an F-4D pit set, while Eagle114th did a comprehensive avionics overhaul that includes Phantoms otherwise, like any other skill, its practice practice practice
  10. so many points of view here, from the ejecting Cuban to the firing aircraft all the way down to the guy fishing in the bay.....
  11. Bosses lookin to add to the scoreboard
  12. More specifically on the Strike Eagle, the prototype was a modified B model, and it shared alot of airframe commonality with the Fighter Eagles. it did get differrent engines, radar and other avionics including the hardpoints for the LANTIRN system and later FLIR/targeting pods. it also carried the FAST conformal fuel tanks more regularly, although the C/D models could always use those and the Es have been spotted over the last couple years sans FAST tanks to act in an air to air dedicated role. finally, some inside structure and the landing gear was beefed up to handle more weight and down low flying (the original operational environ for hte Mud Hen) The Super Hornet is more of an "inspired by" the legacy Hornet than an evolution.
  13. (sips coffee waiting for Wrench to show up dressed like Scottie and throw down)
