    1. Tileset for Afghanistan terrain (Beta)

      Afghanistan Tileset (Beta)

This is a quick and dirty mod of the WOI standard tileset to fit it into the Afghanistan terrain, so that not only WOI user can fly and fight over the Hindukush mountains.
I hope that better tilesets will follow soon by more talented modders than me.

    3. P-38M NightLightning

P-38M "Night Lightning" mod for SF/WoV/WoE

      This is a modification of Wolf257's P-38L into the radar-equipped 2 seat night-fighter version, the P-38M "NightLightning".

This is an incomplete aircraft mod because, as per Wolf's wishes, the "P-38L.LOD" is not included. You =MUST= have his original L model Lightning to copy this file from. All other items; the inis, skin, decals, cockpit and various and sundry other parts ARE included.
Serial numbers for 36 aircraft are included; this gives you the equlivant of 3 squadrons worth -- far more than you'll ever need. These are 100% historically accurate serials; but since the aircraft really didn't reach combat, the historical "6th NFS" is being used as the squadron. (More on that in the "Notes & Other Nonsense" section below).

Damage tgas and a New!!! -only available in this mod!!!- P-38M "NightLightning" Hangar screen are included. The 'crsprp.wav' has a nice in-line engine sound; I've used it on several other mods that have Allison-type V12s, so just in case you haven't got to, it's here too.

Some outstanding work was done by 76 IAP Blackbird and Timmy in helping create this mod; without them it just plane wouldn't exist. Full accreditation is also listed below.

Wolf's original readme for the P-38L and historical notes from J.Baugher's site on the Night Lightning are included as well for your reading pleasure.

While built and tested in my WW2 PTO WoE install, it should work just as well in any other in the series; EXCEPTING maybe for post patch (9/08 & 10/08) versions of all the preceding, and WoI. You use it in these versions at your own risk of 'squiffiness' in the FM :) It could use an update, so if anyone wants to volunteer.....

=You MUST have the Bunyap Weapons Pak of 6/06 to get the WW2 weapons and drop tanks. They are NOT included; but use all 'stock' P-38J/L weapons =

As per usual, there's a semi-detailed easy to follow readme enclosed for you to read, and follow the fairly simple installification procedures, as well as the 'notes and nonesense' for fun and etc.

    5. FM-2 Wildcat (stand in)

General Motors FM-2 Wildcat Pak for SF/WoV/WoE WW2: PTO Installs

This package contains a new skin, and some minor data & cockpit ini mods for Pasko's F4F-4 "Wildcat", representing (as a kind of stand in) the GM/Eastern Aircraft built version, the FM-2. I call this a 'stand-in', as there are several marked differences from the F4F-4 and FM-2 models. These are enumerated in the "General Notes" section

This is to be considered an "incomplete" aircrafit mod, as I've =NOT= included the actual LOD files. You WILL need to have the original F4F-4 to copy these files from. The cockpit, however, IS included.

The skin represents VF-26 as seen aboard USS SANTEE during mid-late 1944,during operations against Palau and the Mariana Islands, and the Battle of the Phillipine Sea (aka "The Great Marianas Turkey Shoot").

The data ini mods include corrected positions and the additions of, running, recognition, formation and landing lights. Loadout changes include the addition of 6 HVAR rocket positions. I've also tweeked the canopy to it opens to it's full extent; swaped out the pilot for a more US looking WW2 guy, and gave him a seat to "park it" on. -NO OTHER CHANGES HAVE BEEN EFFECTD-!!! Flight modeling remains just 'as issued'. Enhanced AI sections have been added, including several from post-patch WoE/WoV/WoI/ SF. The engine sound has also been changed (wav included!). Another sound tweek has also been added, creating the ratcheting sound of the landing gear mechanism (wav included, too!).
Also, it is now fully carrier-qualified, so mission and campaign builders can use it from the CVs, CVLs and CVEs.
The cockpit ini has been modified for a new WW2 N-3 gunsight tga.

2 New WoE style Hangar Screens are included (so you get to choose which you like best), as is a new Loading screen. Damage tgas are here as well. Weapons are NOT included!

-= NOTE: You MUST have the Bunyap Weapons Pak of 6/06 to get the WW2 weapons and guns and such =-
-== This aircraft has been tested in SF/WoV/WoE and post-patch WoI (8/29/08). There still are some 'issues' with prop-plane flight models, but there has been a MARKED improvement!! ==-
-== You use it in WoI at YOUR own risk ==-

As expected, there's highly detailed, step-by-step install instructions in the enclosed readme -- so READ it!!!

    6. DESERT / ISRAEL2 ground environment update

DESERT / ISRAEL 2 ground environment update ("tree mod")

Should work with any maps using default SFP1/SFG desert tileset in jet titles from the series. In all cases you'll have to use the desert.cat or manually extract and move the tiles from desert.cat to your terrain folder.

Not tested with the "desert replacement tileset"! Should work, but objects placement will be slightly incorrect.

    10. Rescaled Green Hell 2 Trees.rar

This is a texture modification of CA_Stary's Green Hell 2 mod for WOV/WOE. In order to use this mod you must have Brian32's WOV terrain repaint and CA_Stary's Green Hell 2 installed.

I have rescaled the trees to a more realistic size. The benefits of doing this are tremendous. First, weapons delivery feels more natural because you are able to judge speed and distance more accurately. Secondly, flying NAP of the earth is more realistic as the illusion of speed has increased.

I have also included a new Viewlist.ini file which is optional. If you haven't used my other viewlist.ini mod you might want to try this one. It allows you to zoom in and out in external and flyby view as well as a new tower view. It is inlcuded because the FOV for external view has been set to 180 degrees for a more realistic experience when buzzing the trees in this mod. Also the FOV for the cockpit has been set to 85 degrees. Please read the Install.txt for directions of use.

      Cheers,

    12. FakePilot addon for pilot method of addon parts

      Version 1.0

Thanks to JimmyBib for the original suggestion.

This is a mod to help add 'parts' to aircraft using the pilot method.

What this does is solve the problem of add-on parts 'disappearing' when an aircraft is a static display. Instead, you must add the parts as ejection seats, so you need a pilot model. However, normally you would have to find a way to make the pilot hidden from view. This file solves that problem.

It's a 0.1 meter box that is totally clear, so it can be mounted anywhere. In addition, the polycount is minimal, so your frame rates won't be affected.

      Instructions:

      1. Copy the Fakepilot.LOD and CompletelyClear.TGA to your Objects/Aircraft directory.

That's it. It's now ready to be used for any 'addon' parts you decide to add.

Instructions on how to add external parts to an aircraft.

Basically, we are going to make a new new pilot position, with your 'addon' part as the ejection seat.

      An example from the A-4L_data.ini.

First, determine what you want to call the new mounting area...for the A-4L, I decided to call it the AvionicsHump

Second, add this line (as an example) to a component section (Nose, Fuselage, etc): SystemName[XXX]=AvionicsHump

Now, go to the Pilot section and add the following:

      [AvionicsHump]
SystemType=PILOT_COCKPIT <---- Will always be this
PilotModelName=FakePilot <----- Will always be this name
      Position=0,0,0 <----- Doesn't matter where...it's a clear box
      SeatModelName=A4LAH <---- Model name of the pylon/hump/canard
SeatPosition=0.0,3.82,0.825 <---- Coordinates where you want it to show
SeatID=2 <---- Used to determine which pilot model 'disappears' when in cockpit view. Make sure it's something other than SeatID=1

      Save the new data.ini.

Make sure the LOD of your hump/pylon/canards is in the Objects/Aircraft directory.

      That's it.

      Advantages of this technique:

Idiot proof...you can't unselect them, you can't jettison them, they will ALWAYS load with your aircraft.
Don't need to make weapondata.ini entries (no fake weapons).
As a bonus, no other aircraft could use them either.

      Operation Mountain Twilight v 1.1

      by baltika

      Revision Date: 23 November 2008

      *****************************************************************

This is an update of my original OMT campaign to work with Wrench's 4 seasons re-release of Majorlee's American North West Terrain. This has exactly the same planeset and installation requirements as the original campaign, so please see the v1.0 readme for all the aircraft and groundobjects you will require to install.

Obviously, you should use Wrench's updated ANW terrain build, not any previous ANW release. Here's the link:

      http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=7615

Thanks to MajorLee for the original terrain, Wrench for his upgrades, and Deuces, Doghouse and Brain32 for the additional tilesets. If I have missed anyone out, please let me know and I will add them in.

      *************************************************************

      What's new:

      1. I have added 25+ new target areas to Wrench's original Target List. There are a number of new target areas based on Wrench's existing ones, but all of Wrench's updated targets are in there, so you do not lose anything from the updated terrain. I have also included Doghouse's SAM sites mod, with his permission, so thanks for that, Doghouse. You will find that flying down those canyons becomes a necessity, not a joyride, once the SAM sites go online!

      2. I have substantially re-worked the strategic nodes based on the new Target List.

      3. Due to changes introduced by the Oct 08 patches, I have had to split the campaign files into separate campaigns for Red and Blue side flyable. If you want to fly the campaign for the Global Sedition, select "OMT: Red" from the campaign selection menu. I have reduced the GS ground unit strength in the Red-Side campaign to make it less of a cakewalk for GS pilots. Blue Side campaign is still a tough nut to crack ;-)

      4. There are a number of alternative Win/Lose screens included in the d/l pack. These used to be called out for individual squadrons, but that seems not to work under Oct 08 patch. So, the default Win/Lose screen is called out from the main campaign_DATA.ini file. You can change the settings to select alternative Win/Lose screens if you wish, just edit the name of the screenshot called out.

      5. I have also included ext's RCAF Vampire skin, as I can't track down the d/l link. Thanks to ext for the nice skin, cheers mate ;-)

      *************************************************************

      INSTALLATION:

I have packaged the files up so it should be obvious where everything has to go.

Install the terrain and planeset first.

Unzip the d/l package to a temporary folder, then copy the unzipped files across. When asked to over-write, say yes.

You must use the included AmericaNW_targets.ini, AmericaNW_Movement.ini and AmericaNW_types.ini, or the campaign will not work properly.

You will have to copy the content of the "Add to SquadronList" folder to your existing SQUADRONLIST.INI, renumbering as the next in sequence.

There should be no problem with dropping the new campaign files into an existing OMT campaign install, just over-write when prompted.

      HEALTH WARNING

As ever, back up any modded files before you overwrite them - it's easier to restore your originals that way ;-)

Most of the required planes are older mods, which may or may not work properly in the latest round of patches. Try flying in normal mode if you are having serious trouble with a particular plane. I haven't yet experienced any huge issues, but your mileage may vary.

Any problems, questions, comments, etc, drop me a line at combatace.

Happy Hunting to one and all,

    23. A-4N (Early) Conversion Kit

      A-4N Ahit (Early) for WoI:

This conversion kit for Wrenchs's A-4AR allows you to create an early A-4N (without the extended tailpipe).

      INSTALLATION:
If you already have the A-4AR installed, you're free to skip steps 1 and 2.
      (1) Download Wrench's A-4AR (http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=7012)
      (2) Install the aircraft. If necessary: Read the readme.
      (3) Rename the A-4AR folder to A-4N. Optional: Make a copy of your A-4AR folder and rename it.
      (4) Now delete all ini files, bmps and the skin folder. LODs, TGAs and the cockpit folder stay where they are.
      (5) Copy the content from the A-4N folder provided in this archive to the one you just have created OR simply move the A-4N folder from the archive to your aircraft folder.
      (6) Go fly and don't blame me for any inaccuracies. ;)

      KNOWN ISSUES:
Though the real life A-4N is based on the M model, this mod uses the F model, so you have to live with the following issues:
-wrong shape of the vertical stabilizer
-wrong shape of canopy and windscreen
      -missing fairings and antennas
-30mm DEFA autocannons mounted in the wing root (might be adressed in a future update)
Please note that this mod is for WOI only, since the skin uses some stock decals.

      ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS:
Thanks to TK for WoI and all the other great games.
Special thanks to Wrench for creating the A-4AR. All I did was renaming and tweaking the inis and the skin, so credit where credit is due.

      Enjoy!
