  1. Introducing my new campaign, "The Dragon". It pits NATO and Taiwan forces, against China.

    Using the new formosa terrain, I was able to create a campaign which also uses most of the new aircraft.
    Aircraft like the: EF-2000, F-22, AV-8B, Gripen, and the SU-27.

    There are a lot of downloads to get. You should be able to find them all here.

    A detailed readme is included, with all the credit, for the people who did the real work.

  2. Thanks for downloading my Linebacker III campaign. This is pretty much the finished version. I'm only calling this a Beta simply because it hasn't been extensively tested.

    This is a completely fictional campaign senario created to allow folks to fly some of the 80's/90's era aircraft in a campiagn situation. It's set up to be fun, and not an accurate representation of what would have happened had there been a conflict in Vietnam in the 90's. The squadron names/numbers are just what was there from the Linebacker II campaign I used as a template, so many of them may be incorrect for the type of aircraft used. Also, I didn't really spend any time on which skins to use, so most the default skin for most squadrons will be whatever the default skin for the aircraft is.

    I would recommend a dedicated install for this campaign to prevent corrupting something, but it doesn't need it. See the installation instructions for more details. They aren't required downloads or listed in the install instructions, but I would also highly recommend the "Green Hell" mod for the terrain and the "wide sky" mod as well to get the most fun out of this campaign.

    Included in the zip file:
    -Vietnam Targets.ini, movement.ini and types.ini
    -LBIII campaign folder
    -F-16C and F-18C
    -TER_CBU weapon rack
    -Menu Screen
    -Ground Object updates

    All the required downloads are availabe at Combat Ace. However, if you can't find something here, try Column5.us. Required Downloads:
    -Bunyaps Weps Pack
    -LAU-88_AGM_65D by KingAlbert
    -Infantry Pack by Kesselbrut
    -US Armor Pack (labeled 'US 70's to Now Pack' in downloads)

    Installation:
    1. Recommended: Start with a clean, patched copy of WOE and Add entire VietnamSEA terrain folder from WOV.

    or

    If you don't want a separate install for the campaign, you can just follow the rest of the steps and add everything to your existing WOE (w/WOV terrain) or WOE/WOV Merged install. Most of the files you're installing shouldn't interfere with anything else, but I can't promise that. I would recommend a seperate install.

    2. Add the included vietnamSEA_targets.ini, vietnamsea_movement.ini and vietnamsea_types.ini into the terrain folder (allow to overwrite)

    3. Drop the LineBackerIII campaign folder into the campaigns folder.

    4. Add the F-16C_BLK40 and FA-18C folders into the aircraft folder. Also run the installer for the F-16A_BLK10_NDC into a temporary folder, and copy all the pilot and extra files (effects, etc.) from the temporary directory into the appropriate directory in your Linebacker III (or WOE) installation.

    5. Overwrite the TER_CBU entry in the weapondata.ini file with the included weapon data. You will need to overwrite the exsisting entry, not just add the data at the bottom. The only difference is the attachment points have been adjusted to allow only the outer and bottom attachment points to be used (for the F-16). Make sure to open the weapon in the weapon editor afterwards so it shows up.

    6. Copy all the data.ini files from in the ground object update folder into their appropriate folders in the groundobject folder. This updates all the SAM's, AAA, and vehicles so they show up after the 80's.

    7. Install all of the required downloads.

    8. If your doing a separate install, place mainscreen.BMP and mainscreen_alt.BMP in your menu folder. I have included two different mainscreens, and you can switch between the two by simply naming whichever one you want to use mainscreen.bmp and changing the name of the other one to something else. There is also an icon you can use. I would also reccommend saving a copy of one of you favorite 90's rock songs in .wav format and renaming it mainscreen.wav and dropping that in the menu folder. I chose "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns 'n Roses. Really sets the mood!

  3. This is my first campaign that I developped for Wings over Europe.

    Background Story
    ############

    The campaign is set in an alternative history, where the Berlin Wall did not fall on November 9, 1989. Instead East-Germans trying to pass to the west were gunned down by East-German and Soviet border guards. In the following months the Soviets intervene to suppress a popular uprising in East-Germany. Unfortunately a small skirmish between US marines and Soviet/East-German troops in Berlin provides the spark for the third world war. The Soviets, in their effort to get rid of the pesky capitalist island in their midst, decide to capture West-Berlin. Realizing that this will provoke a retaliation from NATO, the Soviets decide to attack West-Germany straight away.

    As a NATO pilot, you will fend off the Soviet invasion. The campaign itself only lasts 30 days, since NATO troops should survive for about 3 weeks until the first convoys from the US would arrive.

    Installation Instructions:
    ################

    You have the choice of following an extended readme (26 pages) or a shortened readme with only the required links. The installation file also contains several modified ini's, hangar and loading screens.

    The extended readme will show you were you can download the files and how they have to be installed.

    Since this is my first campaign any feedback is more then welcome.

    WOE:BC Version 1.0
    #############

    With this version you get the campaign with all the required aircraft and ground objects. The groundwar uses the default campaign from WOE. It's my intention to customise and extend this campaign with future patches, but with the current file s and downloads you can already take to the skies and fight the Soviets.

  4. The Last Stand

    December 14th, 1974. Being almost certain that the US wont intervene anymore, the North Vietnamese Army (NVA) launch a full scale invasion of the Republic of South Vietnam.
    Defence aid to the South from the US has been drastically reduced and the South Vietnamese economy has all but collapsed. Ammo, spares and fuel are in short supply, and so is the moral of the South Vietnamese people. Your only hope is to hold out long enough to gain renewed US support.
    The South VNAF currently have the Worlds fourth largest airforce thanks to the "Enhance" and "Enhance Plus" programs from the US.........

    Historical only in the Aircraft, Units and Air Bases used by the VNAF squadrons. Other than that you will be limited to hitting Targets in Southern NV/South Vietnam/Laos/Cambodia only - You wont be going up North - the VNAF never had the range anyway.

    Only for Wings Over Vietnam SP4 version v08.30.06 - only tested with the default terrain also - but should be no issues adding trees etc

    MUST be a new install - none of the stock campaigns will work after you have installed this!

    Read the instructions - they will tell you which jets to download and where from

    The gamplay file should give you some hints of how the campaign should be played

    Only parts of this Mod comes under the CA Freeware licencing - read the Credits file for details

    Note1: Razbam Skyraiders Vol 2 is worth the money for the cockpit alone – however if you are stuck there is a free A-1H at CombatAce – if you do this the quickest way would be to change the campaigns data.ini and .ini files and replace the A-1HVNAF and A-1JVNAF with A-1H and the skin for the A-1H you want to use. You would then need to change the A-1H_loadout.ini.

    Played and tested loads but as ever there may be some issues to resolve somewhere.

  5. Thanks for downloading my Linebacker III campaign. This is release (v1.1). If you are installing this over the beta release or v1.0, the change log at the bottom should let you know which files need to be overwritten.

  7. Update:

    Changed aircraft from F-14B to Typhoid´s F-14A+, so you don´t have to edit the loadout anymore.
    Added 3 squadrons (1 flyable, 2 AI) : VF-213 and 2 A-6 squadrons
    *note: There are a lot (and I mean a very, very, very large LOT) of sams, so I recommend you increase the number of chaff to your F-14´s.Also, you´ll need Typhoid´s F-14A+ and the VF-213 skin for the Mirage Factory F-14A.

    My first attempt of creating a campaign.

    This a fictional campaign set in 1992 where 3 F-14 squadrons (VF-31,VF-103, and VF-154) are sent to Vietnam.

    You need the 3 versions of the F-14(A,B,D) what i did was i got TMF F-14A and Typhoid´s F-14D, then got fractalnoise´s avionics update and which comes with the B´s data and added it a skin. You need Fist of the fleet´s VF-103 and VF-31 skins (put the vf103 in the B version and the vf31 in the A and D versions) and the VF-154 skin which comes with either the avionics update or the F-14D (sorry I can´t remember which).
    Digital overload´s CVN75
    Marcfighters SU-27
    Boopidoo´s team SU-15
    101 tfs´s (uploaded by Silverbolt) MiG-31 BM
    Note: You will have to modify the F-14B to carry bombs.
    If i forgot to mention anyone who worked on all the things I used contact me and I will put your name here.
    Just drop the "Tomcats in Vietnam" folder to the wings over vietnam/campaigns folder (you need the vietnamsea terrain)

    Remember it´s my first campaign so it won´t be perfect.

    If there´s any problem´s please tell me and I´ll try to fix them

    Happy flying

  11. Wings Over Vietnam Ground War and Targets Enhancement v2.1

    by malibu43

    This is an update of my original WoV ground war mod. This mod will add a "static" ground war to two new campaigns in WOV. I call them "static" because the nodes are defined in such a way that neither side can advance very far and capture the other sides base. The result is a front line that never really moves and continuous ground battles regardless of how much success (or defeat) you experience. This mod also adds VC camps and bases in South Vietnam and Laos, as well as armed recon routes moving between them. I decided to develop this after having a desire to fly campaigns in Skyraiders, F-100's, and A-7's that contained a more accurate mix of missions. I also noticed that with the game (WOV) in it's stock form, there is absolutely no reason to ever use Napalm... Vietnam with no Napalm?!?!? This mod fixes all of that...

    To Install:

    This is an enhancement of my original WoV ground war mod. It adds two completely new campaigns

    To Install:

    1. Back up your campaign folder and terrain folder if you have any mods already installed (or just do it anyway... it's a good idea!).

    2. Copy Terrain folders into your WOV directory.

    3. Install the following add-ons:
    - Soviet Artillery: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=6043
    - Infantry Pack: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=5350
    - Mirage Factory A-7E: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=6889
    - Sky Raiders: Razbam Skyraiders Volume 1 and Volume 2

    or

    free A-1H: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...mp;showfile=747
    If you use the free A-1H, you need to open both campaign files and change A-1E, A-1J, and AD-7 to A-1H wherever necessary.

    4. Drop the F-100D_data.ini in the aircraft's folder. The aircraft roles are modified to get more A/G and less A/A, which is how the F-100D was used in Vietnam. The mission radius is also reduced to keep it mainly striking targets in S. Vietnam.

    5. Go into the _data.ini's for whatever Skyraiders you're using and change the normal mission radius to 350 and the max mission radius to 375. This keeps the Skyraiders limited to striking targets in the south. (sorry this isn't included, but the Razbam stuff is payware...)

    NormalMissionRadius=350
    MaxMissionRadius=375

    6. Drop the 'campaigns' folder into your install

    7. Go blow s**t up!

    PM me with any questions or feedback.

    Changes from 2.0 - Two new campaigns are included now instead of modifying the Rolling Thunder and Linebacker I campaigns.

    Credits
    - Thanks to TeTeT for the original modifications to the types and targets.ini files.

  13. The Battle of Midway

    v1.1

    Campaign Mod by Baltika

    **************************************************

    For SFP1/SFG/WoV/WoE

    Patched to v. 083006

    **************************************************

    May 1942:

    Defeat in the Battle of the Coral Sea, combined with the Doolitle raid on the Japanese home islands, has shaken Japanese confidence following their earlier whirlwind of victories in the Pacific.

    Japanese Combined Fleet Commander Yamamoto resolves to draw out and destroy the U.S. Pacific Fleet's aircraft carrier striking forces. His plan: to launch an amphibious attack on the Midway atoll, supported by his combat-experienced carrier-based air forces. The establishment of a Japanese air base at Midway would significantly expand the defensive ring around the home islands.

    Unknown to Yamamoto, the U.S. Fleet has broken the Japanese communications code, and his battle plans are revealed to the US Pacific Fleet Commander, Admiral Chester Nimitz.

    3rd June 1942, 04:30am

    The IJN Carriers Akagi, Kaga, Hiryu and Soryu advance on Midway Atoll, launching 108 planes to attack the US airbase there, at a distance of 240 miles to the NorthWest.

    Meanwhile, undetected by the Japanese, the US Fleet Carriers Yorktown, Hornet and Enterprise are under full steam 215 miles to the east of Midway.

    Their objective: Find and destroy the Japanese Carrier Strike Force!

    The Battle of Midway has begun. . .

  14. Thanks to Bigstone for drawing my attention to a bug which affected units based on USS Yorktown. I had mistakenly included an experimental build of the campaign_data.ini file.

    This hotfix includes the updated Midway_data.ini file which corrects this bug, together with an updated readme which provides download links for the required files.

    Just unzip the .rar and drop the new Midway_data.ini file into your Campaigns/Midway folder, over-writing the old one. This will likely break any campaigns you have started, so be warned.

    Thanks for the feedback, and my apologies for any worry/sleepless nights/hair-pulling this bug has caused.

    Cheers,

    Update:

    I have edited the main campaign download pack to include the version 1.1 campaign files. So you only need this update if you have downloaded the original v 1.0 of the campaign pack.

  16. For SFP1/Gold and SF2.

    Final version of this campaign. Tested in SFP1 but did a quick CTD check in SF-2 and it seemed OK. Not sure if the "All In" concept is a good way to go with campaigns. Probably better to have some re-supply to generate more variety. This is a simple campaign using stock aircraft but it's quite easy to modify campaigns with different dates and aircraft so check out the CombatAce knowledge base for more info. To run this you will need either the original Desert Target Zone, available here, or the SF2 version here.

    Player flyable aircraft are the F-4b[Marines], A-4C[Marines], A-4b[Dhimari Foreign Air Legion, aka MERC] or the F-100D[MERC also]. Non flyables are the MiG-19S, MiG-21F, MiG-17F and SU-7BM for Paran.

    MAIN FEATURES: Easy Install, Real time missions possible in about 30 minutes, and quite a bit of mayhem in a small area!

    ISSUES:
    Frame Rates: You will probably have to reduce your usual graphics settings.
    Mercs: I haven't enabled the money feature but some instructions included if you want to try it out.
    Front Line: I noticed a corrupted front line during the quick SF-2 check but it went away after a couple of missions.

    CAMPAIGN SCENARIO: With increasing oil wealth, the Empire of Paran has been purchasing increasing amounts of Soviet made tanks and aircraft. The Kingdom of Dhimar has been slow to respond. The Royal Dhimari Air Force has mercenary [Dhimari Foreign Air Legion] as well as regular force pilots. The DFAL has one squadron of F-100's and one of A-4B's. The regular force has two squadrons of F-100's.
    Shah Komar believes the time to attack is now. His main concern is the U.S./Dhimar defence pact of 1943. Since that time the U.S.A. has kept a permanent air contingent in Dhimar. Presently, that task is being carried out by the United States Marine Corps. To neutralize the U.S. threat, Shah Komar has struck a back room deal with the Soviets. They will blockade the Gulf of Paran, claiming to the world that it is to "contain" the conflict. Surrounding countries will be threatened with attack by Paran if they allow resupply flights. No replacement tanks, no replacement aircraft, both countries are "All In!".

    WAIVERS: You can do what you like with this file on a freeware basis.

    The Pact of Steel: Axis Ascendancy

    Egypt and India have fallen to the Axis powers, who now control the Suez Canal and with it, access to the Eastern Mediterranean.

    Japanese victory at Midway and in the Aleutians, and the Imperial occupation of Hawaii, has penned the US Pacific Fleet into its west coast continental American bases.

    A successful German offensive through the Caucasus has brought the Wermacht to the borders of Asia. Leningrad has fallen and Moscow is under heavy siege.

    There is one ray of light for the Allied cause: the Operation Torch landings have granted the Allies a foothold on the fringes of Occupied Europe.

    Imperial Japan resolves to lend Fast Attack Carrier Air Support to its German and Italian brethren and drive the Allies finally from Africa. . .

    Thanks to the AvHistory team for taking up the challenge of developing WW2 prop FMs for TK's series of sims. Cheers guys ;-)

    This is my little contribution to the process, a testbed campaign for the beta FMs as they are released. I will try to add more of the "Gang of 10" test aircraft as they become available.

    I am running this campaign in SFG patched up to Oct 08 level, but it should work fine in the SF2 series as well.

    There are a few requirements:

    AvHistory beta FM planes - P-51D-30, FW-190D-9, P-47M and A6M5c
    -currently available in 3rd party mod section at capun's Skunkworks

    EDIT: the P-51, P-47M and A6M5c are now available here at CA. Thanks to the AvHistory team for granting permission to post their FMs here, and to the original creators of these birds (WOLF257, ArmourDave and Russo).

    - ships by the DAT team and Hinchinbrooke.

    I have also included a couple of modded terrain .ini files, based on Edward's originals. I have just changed the alignment of a couple of target areas in the targets.ini to get the front line to work properly. I have also included and updated terrain_DATA.INI so that the terrain will work with the Oct 08 and later versions of the game.

    Install the above items, drop the "WW2Test" folder into your campaign folder, and use the included terrain.ini files in the Tunisia terrain.

    You may meet a few old friends over the skies of Tunisia ;-)

  18. This is a little modification for TK's SF2:E.
    The stock campaigns were a bit modified and
    AI planes were made flyable. There are no additional
    planes or cockpits needed. The data- files to make
    the AI planes flyable are included

    1.Changes in campaigns:
    -----------------------
    Following nations were made flyable:

    621026 Red Thunder
    --------------------

    - West Germany
    - France

    680821 Red Hammer
    ------------------

    - West Germany
    - France
    - Canada

    790918 Red Lightning
    --------------------

    - West Germany
    - France
    - Canada

    2. Installation
    ----------------
    Drop both folders in C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Europe

    ATTENTION:
    ------------
    Backup your files as there are several changes in the data-files in both folders!!! I take no responsibility if you screw your installation uP!!!

    3. Notes:
    ---------
    It's an 'all-in-one-install', meaning that the necessary files are provided. So no extra downloading is needed! (But if you want other planes or cockpits feel free to change:-)
    This campaign works with a jun2009b patched SF2/SF2:V/SF2:E merged installation.
    It should work with SF2:E too, as long as the stock cockpits are included.
    If anything shouldn't work, PM me over at combatace.com

    4. Credits
    ----------

    Credits are going to TK and Thirdwire for offering such a great game and to the whole combatace community, without you, I wouldn't love this series that much!!!

    5. Last but not least

  22. With new WWII maps coming to play, I decided to make a WWII campaign.

    Unlike any WWII campaign, I took the liberty to add modern warbirds into the fray just for the fun of it.
    The creation of this campaign was influence by the movie The Final Countdown.

    The campaign is mostly an air war due to my limited knowledge on how strategic nodes work. So if anyone want to assist me in this (recommendations and so forth), I'd be greatful.

    The campaign currently only allow you to fly the F4F-4 and the F-14D because I have yet to add carriers in the campaign.

    Future plans may include adding carriers to the fray which add more US aircraft into the mix as well as the Japanese.

  23. Kaddafi's Eagles - Mirage 5D campaign
    It is small mod for WOI, which allows you to fly as a pilot of Libyan 69th Independent Squadron fighting against Israel during Yom Kippur War.

    This package includes:
    - modified version of stock Yom Kippur campaign;
    - modified Mirage 5D *.ini files, making the plane flyable;
    - hangar and loading screens for Mirage 5D;
    - AS.20 missile created by ErikGen;
    - "KillMarks for the Evil Ones", created by Horus3K (modified by me for Mirage 5D).

    Instalation:
    To install, simply paste all files to main WOI directory. If you have installed any additional weapons, you should install AS.20 missile manually, using weapon editor.

  24. This campaign is made for a tutorial with the title:
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    What i must do to to bring a new Air Force in a stock campaign?
    ===========================================
    Lets say i want to mod the WOE stock campaign Red Thunder 1962 and want to include the westgerman and the east german airforces.
    First we need the files
    woeCamp1.ini
    and
    WOECAMP1_DATA.ini
    both files you find in the folder Campaigns/woeCamp1
    if not, then you must extract them with an extraction tool like SFP1E extractor
    Make following steps:
    1.) open files woeCamp1.ini with windows notepad editor
    2.) look for the lines
    [CampaignData]
    CampaignName=1962
    DataFile=1962_data.ini
    CampaignMap=GermanyCE
    Service001=USAF
    Service002=RAF
    Service003=France
    3.) add now
    Service004=EGermany
    Service005=WGermany
    4.) save the file.
    Now we have included the Luftwaffe and the LSK/LV as new airforces which can deploy units in the campaign.
    Our next step is to bring 2 east german and 3 west german units in the campaign. The east germans we place at Holzdorf AB and Peenemünde while the west germans we place at Wittmundhafen, Neuburg and Büchel.
    5.) open file WOECAMP1_DATA.ini with notepad editor
    scroll to the last airunit entry which is
    [AirUnit078]
    AircraftType=IL-28
    UnitName=305 BFAP
    ForceID=2
    Nation=SOVIET
    StartDate=11/15/1962
    DefaultTexture=SovietSilver1
    BaseArea=Parchim Airbase
    ......................
    6.) after this entry we will place the 2 east german units
    8.) save the file.
    BE CAREFULL: you must place the units at existing airfields. Which AB are existant you find in the GermanyCE_targets.ini.
    Make sure that the names of the baseses are the same in Targets.ini and campaign_data.ini.
    For instance if you write
    BaseArea=Wittmundhaven Airbase
    instead
    BaseArea=Wittmundhafen Airbase
    the unit will not exist in game.
    After this we must include the new created air units into the woeCamp1.ini file, if we want to fly the birds of this units. If not, then we have nothing to do anymore. But i want to fly the MiG's for the LSK and the Starfighters for the Luftwaffe, so we continue:
    9.) open file woeCamp1.ini
    10.) scroll to the end and include following lines:
    //LSK units
    [EGermanyUnit001]
    UnitName=JG-8
    ForceID=2
    UnitID=34
    StartDate=1962
    DescFile=woe1Start.txt
    StartText=woe1Start1.txt
    AircraftType=MiG-17F
    [EGermanyUnit002]
    UnitName=JG-2
    ForceID=2
    UnitID=35
    StartDate=1962
    StartText=woe1Start1.txt
    AircraftType=MiG-21F
    //Bundesluftwaffe units
    [WGermanyUnit001]
    UnitName=JG 71
    ForceID=1
    UnitID=46
    StartDate=1962
    DescFile=woe1Start.txt
    StartText=woe1Start1.txt
    AircraftType=F-104G
    [WGermanyUnit002]
    UnitName=JG 74
    ForceID=1
    UnitID=47
    StartDate=1962
    DescFile=woe1Start.txt
    StartText=woe1Start1.txt
    AircraftType=F-104G
    [WGermanyUnit003]
    UnitName=JBG 33
    ForceID=1
    UnitID=48
    StartDate=1962
    DescFile=woe1Start.txt
    StartText=woe1Start1.txt
    AircraftType=F-104G
    The most problematic part is the UnitID= number
    you must count which number the single unit has. For the blue side and for the red side.
    For instance, the JG-71 is the 46th blue unit. To get this number is relativly simple. You must look in the WOECAMP_DATA.ini and look for the last "blue" air unit. If you look right it is the 42nd TRS which has in the campaign the air unit number 045 [AirUnit045].
    Thatywhy the next blue air unit has the UnitID=46, then comes 47 and so on.
    With the red air units it is a little bit mor difficult, because the first red air unit has in the data.ini the number [AirUnit046]. But in the woecamp.ini it is not designated as UnitID=46, because it is the first "red" air unit and thatswhy would get the designation UnitID=1 (only if the unit would be flyable)
    To get the correct UnitID= number of the 2 east german units we must count all red air units. If you do it you will see that we have in the stock campaign 33 soviet (red) air units. Thatswhy the first east german unit get the number UnitID=34 and the other UnitID=35
    11.) Save the file.
    12.) Finally comes the testing of the campaign.
    Thats it.
  25. On mid-November 1941, six months had passed since Rommel's Afrika Korps and the Italian Army of Libya had driven back the Western Desert Force to Marmarica, secured positions at Sollum and Halfaya, surrounded and besieged the port of Tobruk. All of the Allied ill-planned counter-attacks against Rommel's strong positions so far had failed. Yet, though scarcely and expensively supplied by sea, the Tobruk Fortress still stood fast, fixing enemy forces and denying this strategic supply port to the Axis. Now Rommel was ready to deliver a heavy and, he hoped, decisive blow against Tobruk by November 20. Therefore, he had ordered his subordinates to ignore all of the deceptive maneuvers the British could attempt against his Eastern positions in order to disorganize the assault.
    Unfortunately for Rommel, it was a major offensive that Cunningham's Eighth Army was actually planning, named 'Crusader' after the new cruiser tank model just delivered on the Desert front - both the tank and the offensive crystallizing great hopes. While the XIII Corps was to threaten and locally outflank the main enemy positions at Sollum and Halfaya, the XXX Corps, with 7th Armoured Division as a spearhead, was to advance deeply into Rommel's rear lines and seek a decisive battle in the open against the outnumbered Panzers. The flanking maneuver began on November 16, and when the 7th Armoured Division stroke the Italian division 'Ariete' on November 18 at Bir-el-Gubi, Rommel didn't understand at once that he was to lead a major and decisive battle.
    Welcome to the first of my first two campaigns designed for TK games – actually, for a marvellous free add-on for TK games. A 'Gazala 1942' campaign shall indeed be uploaded very soon. So please forgive some possible mistakes and omissions, due to sometimes scarce or conflicting sources. I need your indulgence, and possibly, if wanting to share, your informations and sources to amend my database for my other projects.
    Almost all of the required planes and objects are provided already in the excellent Wings over Africa mod, except an Italian skin for Stuka. Fortunately, Wrench has designed an adequate model which is available for downloading at Combatace. Also, my own Soft targets for WoA will be required. All of the links are included in the ReadMe file. Some modified files are provided, allowing some Italian units to fly the Fiat G-50 in campaign with adequate markings, and giving higher hosting allowance to several airfields in order for them to manage the large number of units posted as historically as possible on the start line of the offensive (accurate details in the ReadMe file). A French translation of the campaign texts, as well as a handful of new counters are also included. Now time to take off and fight for Tobruk!
