Spinners Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Paki Fantan Just a polite reminder to everyone that, in the UK, the term 'Paki' is a not socially acceptable - and virtually used only in a derogatory fashion. I fully understand that people from other countries will probably be unaware of this but I'd just like to point it out in (hopefully) a civil manner. Thank You. Quote
+Brain32 Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 (edited) Well if people originating from countries with long names don't stop with PC I'm gonna stop calling them all together. I'm sorry but I'm a lazy typer and if you come from Longnameestan I'm gonna call you Longi or won't bother at all xD Imagine a screenshot of: Wehavealongnameforyoutosayalthoughitsrathershortinourlanguagesowedontgiveafrakeestani MiG-29 Edited July 2, 2009 by Brain32 Quote

You can thank the bunch of pr!cks also known as the British tabloid press for turning that word into a derogatory slur some years back. Anyway, back on track, this is a screenshot thread. Quote

+Stratos Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Handley-Page Peregrine, 54 Squadron circa 1960 (coming soon) wrench kevin stein Do you have a credible story for this one? Quote
+Dave Posted July 2, 2009 Author Posted July 2, 2009 Um how about we not turn the SCREENSHOT forum into someones politically correct soapbox forum. You all have to figure out how to get along and I expect no one to have to go out of their way to make sure their post is PC. Just because its not a good term in one country it might be ok in another. Its very unreasonable to ask that we make sure we are totally knowlegable is what each countries "bad words" are. So if you do not like what someone says in a post, take it to a PM, do not use my site for a PC platform. That is the way to handle it. When you air that stuff out in the open, this is the kind of banter it causes. I am sure had been taken care of in a PM no one would of been the wiser. Now carry on. Quote

+SayethWhaaaa Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 So if you do not like what someone says in a post, take it to a PM, do not use my site for a PC platform. Good idea. That said, it would be very un-Australian of me to not refer to you Americans as "Yanks" or "Seppos" (Rhyming slang, abr, Seppos = Septic tanks = Yanks) and as for you folks in the UK; "whinging bloody poms" is the official term I must use. I believe using the term "British" and not "WBP" can land you 30 days in the slammer, especially during the Ashes series... (before anyone gets their panties in a twist, talk to an Aussie for 30 seconds and you'll understand we abbreviate everything, it's not a sign of disrespect!) Anyways, from a fictional Vietnam campaign where RAAF Mirage IIIOs were deployed to the theater... Got a bit too close to this Mig-19 kill... That could have been nasty... Quote
+Dave Posted July 2, 2009 Author Posted July 2, 2009 I like the fact I am a Yank. Take no offense to it at all. Quote

+column5 Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Seppos = Septic tanks I particularly like this one. In America we are really uncreative when it comes to tossing insults. We usually just prefix the nationality with G*ddamn or F*cking. So lazy. Quote
