DaniloE31 Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Isn't the Vulcan the best A2A weapon ever built? 1. Blazing a Fulcrum-C 2. Saving the a$ of a lazy Tomcat driver 3. AIM-9M...

Icarus999 Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 (edited) Those images of the Iowa class battle ship operating a harrier bring back memories of the purposed assault ship configuration in which one or both(depending on the design... of which 4 of 5 were put forward) one or both of the aft guns were to be removed and repaced with either an angled flight deck with one catapult and arrester cables or dual angled decks for harrier stvol operations. The whole aft end of the ships were to be rebuilt with hangar space and troop temporary troop quarters the flight deck(s) were to be mounted much higher. Tried to post an image of the mock ups but couldn't... oh well. Edited June 5, 2010 by Icarus999

Spinners Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 LOL sorry mate. I had no idea. I've rediscovered the World Air Power book by Rene J. Francillon on the Air National Guard - very inspirational for 'what ifs'.
+Dave Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 LOL sorry mate. I had no idea. I've rediscovered the World Air Power book by Rene J. Francillon on the Air National Guard - very inspirational for 'what ifs'. Oh no problem. You have the same love I do whens it comes to the ANG. I love flying them and doing skins and decals for them. I think its the uniqueness of each unit. I will admit too that Fiddler looks mean with those decals on it.
+Gocad Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Random shots taken during a Red Thunder '62 mission...
Spinners Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 McDonnell Douglas F-4E - 198th FIS, Puerto Rico ANG, 1975 In the real world, this unit missed out on the F-4 going from the F-104C to the A-7D and then onto the F-16A.
PraetorH Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Nice one as usual, Spinners. Just curious: have you ever made or considered a What-If for the case of Germany not choosing the Starfighter in 1958, but the Draken or Mirage III (both of which were in the competition)? Anyway, here a few screens. Yes, I know, I forgot some decals…
