Gents, don't often stray from our forum - but in this case wanted to take time out and say that this is surely evolving into a masterpiece.  Well done to the team behind it, and keep up the fantastic work!  :salute:

We are currently discussing, how to release the plane, we have two options:

1. We can release the plane as a pack and use the userlist / specific nations but we would have many commong parts like data.ini and the planes would not differentiate between each other.

2. Nation specific versions, like Syrian birds with IRM, than Egypt with just dumb bomb capability, Soviet, Polish and so on, with all their specific skins

Than the question is about all the different skins, should we release the planes with just 1 - 2 skins and the rest as skin packs? Or putt the skins into the specific plane / nation and release it as a bigger pack?

Currently is the plane around 105MB large with just one skin, lots of BM and SM files.

What version would you prefer?

1. or 2 and then the skin solution

Posted

I vote solution 2 and 1 or 2 skins supplied with the aircraft.... then simultaneously release a large skin pack separately.

The thing with that ,Jimbib, is that most planes have one or two, except Soviet (4 or 5), Polish (3) and Egypt (3); the rest is just one, but with custom weapon loadout

Hello,

Option # 2, :grandpa:

, 2 "regional" packs: Eastern Europe (SF2E) and Near East countries (SF2i)

Hi mates,

Hello,

Option # 2, :grandpa:

, 2 "regional" packs: Eastern Europe (SF2E) and Near East countries (SF2i)

i believe that it could be fine, but with fly this plane i would be happy

I say option 1. I guess loadouts could be a problem, but I noticed that some stock SF2 aircraft do use different loadouts according to the nation and/or the year, thanks to some parameters that must be added in the _loadout.ini. So maybe there is no need to create nationalized aircraft folders.

option 1

and skinpack

imho

there are way too many sub-variants of way too many aircraft, which only differ in very minor country specific items and make no difference in game play at all, so i prefer fewer aircraft to choose from.

just my 5 cents ;-)

cheers
