you mean something like this , with fly by wire more powerful engines and a more modern cockpit ??? actually they tested a RF-4C with fly by wire , that is where i got the idea for that Super Phantom above

After some soul-searching and a quick Google search, the Growler to the best of my knowledge doesn't have an internal jammer like the rest of the Super Hornets. Which is fine, so I decided to remove it and make the player depend on the pods, which apparently work (or as best as they can). That means that jamming a radar is at best what it is. I don't know the performance of the real system unfortunately (and no, I won't ask because they won't tell me anyway) against an SA-10 radar. This short video shows the effectiveness and the range at 10,000ft of it detecting me and strobing me:

Awesome work! I can imagine the stress for modeling all of those radars in detail

Yup, as has been said above (OlWilly REALLY nailed it!! thank you!) The player's stuff always works (well, most of the time). The AI suffers from HUA since one or another of the NA patches borked more than just EMC/CM for AI controled birds. You just have to make due with what we got, as we'll never get a fix from The Manufacturer, or be allowed to hack and share a "repaired" dll. More's the pity, given what can be done with this game series

I've always been into aviation since I was really young, so don't ask me as to why I joined the US Army either. It did help in Afghanistan, knowing somewhat the perspective of people who fly. But anyway hopefully Rafael helps you out.

Good Luck! its hit or miss reaching out to direct sources like that, but is awesome when it hits and you get alot more than just the one or two answers you were looking for (probably why i'm a member of multiple USAF unit FB pages despite being a retired Army cook )

Countermeasure pods of all kinds work only in player aircraft, both chaff/flares and ECM. I tried few ways around it, for example, enabling an internal CM dispenser but loaded only with 1 chaff/1 flare and then loading external pods with CMs. What AI did with it? It dropped exactly one flare and then just stopped. Same with ECM, I enabled internal ECM with 0.001 strength and then normal external pod. No change - in fact, in player aircraft you can't really activate internal ECM but ignore pods - both will go on; but AI has only internal working. So it's not like AI *chooses* not to use the pods, it simply doesn't register them on. The stuff is messed up on .dll level; I've read about that this bug came in only with NA so someone has to compare pre-NA and current .dll's. The only way around it is to fix the pod external model to aircraft through fakepilot, disable the station taken and enable the function in aircraft .data file. The bad news is that this removes the flexibility from loadout options

i always welcome constructive criticism , it helps me to make better models , but i this case it just make me doubt if my information´s are right , that is the reason i deleted the 2 missiles and keep on searching for more and better info the Shafrir 1 missile was only for a few years in service and the IDF got only 200 pieces of it ( some say even a lot less than that ) , after all my searching i have not found a single picture of a live missile , i got pictures form early prototype and test versions but none of a missile that enter the service ( after 1964 ) that makes it very difficult to create a correct model some info even saying that the final Shafrir 1 had a target detection sensor with a proximity fuze , i know that the Shfrir 2 have them bud i have no idea how it would look on a Shafrir 1 , the early Shafrir 1 required a direct hit so no my friend i dont take your comment as criticism , bud i will search now even harder to find some more info on that missile i´m curios what info is right and wich is not , maybe one of our Israeli members could help us here

If I remember correctly, this only applies to the AI. The player can use external ECM pods with no issues, it's the AI-controlled aircraft that cannot.

Here's a quick and dirty test. and firing and hitting the target wasn't too hard really. But here's a quick video of me shooting down a target drone with the missile by dtmdragon.

this week, not only did i learn that the Nevada ANG got 3 jets from the Nebraska ANG as Nebraska was retiring their Phantoms , but that the High Rollers really didnt change the tail markings other than the High Roller logo. they kept these style numbers and the ANG logo with AFOUA (instead of "Nevada") al the way until AMARC in '95
