1 pointWith regards to the design of the Israeli bomb: "It is widely assumed that the design of early Israeli nuclear weapons was strongly influenced by the second generation of French-made tactical nuclear weapons – especially the AN-52 nuclear bomb (first tested on 28 August 1972), roughly equivalent to such US-made tactical nuclear weapons as the Mark 7, Mark 8, Mark 11 and Mark 12" And with regards to Israel not wanting to show thier hand as a nuclear power, they did exactly that during the 1973 war: "Israeli then introduced what even the historians of the National Security Archives in Washington refer to as ‘an element of nuclear blackmail’..... .....Shalheveth Freier, the ministerial forum decided to ‘arm and target the nuclear arsenal in the event of total collapse’, or at least a ‘nuclear demonstration’, but also to ‘inform Washington of its unprecedented action’ – and then demand initiation of an ‘emergency airlift to supply Israel..... .....Correspondingly, several MD.620s of No. 150 Squadron were pulled out of their shelters and armed with nuclear warheads, while nuclear bombs were loaded on six modified F-4Es at Tel Nov AB, ‘at least to influence Washington’..... .....Whether it was Kissinger’s agreement – or ‘promise’ – to resupply Israeli stocks of aircraft, tanks and ammunition, or something else that eventually prompted the Israelis to de-activate their Jerichos, remains unclear." 1973-the-first-nuclear-war-crucial-air-battles-of-the-october-1973-arab-israeli-war-9781914377389_compress.pdf Also from another research report about the bombs design: "A. Warhead Type and Fissile Material There is a strong consensus among analysts and in declassified intelligence documents that Israel's early nuclear weapons, including those readied during the 1973 Yom Kippur War, were plutonium-based implosion-type fission devices. The fissile plutonium (weapons-grade Pu-239) was produced at the IRR-2 heavy water reactor and chemically separated from irradiated fuel elements at the associated reprocessing facility, both located at the Negev Nuclear Research Center near Dimona. The extensive French assistance provided to Israel for the Dimona reactor, heavy water supply, and critical plutonium separation technology was indispensable. Early French nuclear weapons, such as the AN-11 and AN-22 gravity bombs developed in the 1960s, were themselves plutonium-based implosion devices. Given the depth, sensitivity, and clandestine nature of this Franco-Israeli nuclear cooperation, it is highly probable that French technical expertise and design philosophies for plutonium implosion weapons were influential, if not directly shared, during the development of Israel's first generation of nuclear devices. This suggests a potential lineage for early Israeli bomb design that may reflect French technological approaches of that era, adapted to Israel's specific requirements and indigenous capabilities, rather than solely drawing parallels to early U.S. devices like the Fat Man." I researched the absolute s#*t out of this before I was satisfied enough to include a nominal Israeli nuclear bomb based on the AN-52 in this pack. I am satisfied that it is more probably than not that this is how the bomb was designed (with French influence/ assistance) and looked (influenced if not based on the AN-52). The existence, warhead type and yield is beyond doubt. As is the placing of nuclear armed aircraft on alert to 'persuade' the American's to help and 'just in case' after the failed Israeli counterattack in the Sinai. This pack is not a 'what if' and is as factual as possible. P.S. I absolutely love Tom Clancy books, games and movies but sorry Tom there's no way the Skyhawk carried Israel's nuclear bombs, it was the Mirage first and then the Phantom 😁

1 pointHello everyone! It have been a while since I posted here. There have been so much works done on the following projects: - MiG-9s / 15s / 17s / 19s - J-5s and J-6s (Will explain about J-2s and J-4s confusion below) - Cockpit tweaks / overhaul - View / Camera system tweaks - Gunsight and lead computing range for non-rangefinder, rangefinder, and radar version. ------------------------------------------------------------------ >>> CHINESE AIRCRAFT DESIGNATION SYSTEM <<< While working on both Soviet and Chinese MiGs and Js, I learned something very interesting about Chinese J series fighters history: NOTE: This is based on what I understand. If there is any information that appear incorrect, please post here and I am more than happy to discuss it with you here! I always learn new things everyday! Through deep researches, it turns out there are conflicting reports on aircraft names of Chinese La and MiGs aircraft imported by Soviet. According to the sources from China, there is no J-2 nor J-4, instead, there is only J-5 onward when they build aircraft locally for the first time, based on Soviet fighter aircraft. I have a theory why they chose number 5 for J-5 for Chinese version of Soviet MiG-17F, along with J-5A basing on MiG-17PF; For PLAAF (People's Liberation Army Air Force), China's air force starting in 1949, they have their own first fighter, which is imported La-9, followed by La-11 as second fighter. Then third, MIG-9s, then four, the MiG-15 and MiG-15bis. Then fifth being MiG-17 Fesco-A. Therefore J-5 (Mig-17F) and J-6A (MiG-17PF). Then there exists the J-6s (MiG-19). However, this get more interesting, initially they license built the copy version of MIG-19S, then they started evolving into their own built variants, such as J-6C, J-6III, and another variants, especially Q-5 "Fatan". By the way, there is also confusion with the difference between 'J" and "F', as well "Q' and A', and "H" and 'B". For aircraft that is locally built and used domestically by PLAAF is known as J, Q, and H series for fighter, attack, and bombers. When they export them, they become F, A, and B. Therefore, in SF2, using USERLIST.INI system for export Chinese aircraft as J-5s and J-6s is incorrect. They should be F-5s and F-6s. That is fixed in this SF-2 CAP next version, there will be two folders separately, one for PLAAF version and other for Export. For excellent works of Paulopanz's J-2, J-4, J-5, and J-6 packs, there is corrected names in SF2: J-2 -> MiG-15 Fagot-A, 1950 =CHINA= J-2 (51) -> MiG-15bis Fagot-B, 1951 =CHINA= J-4 -> MiG-17 Fresco-A, 1955 =CHINA= - ------------------------------------------------------------------ >>> MiGs and Js / Fs COCKPITS <<< The cockpit have been overhauled for radar texture, gunsight, position / offsets, and the trips on top of canopy. the gunsight have been re-worked as I find more information on them. Turns out that the radar symbol was too small, re-made that sight. There is also different size of sight for both AA and AG mode. In every aircraft, due to lacks of dynamic sight based on range for early cold aircraft (Expanding / Shrinking sights), al gun is always set on 50 MILs size by default, this includes MIGs and Js gunsight in this project. By the way, I would like to talk about the MiG-15s and 17s cockpits. After flying and testing various MIG-15s and 17s cockpit, I realize that it sometime feels like my head is too close to the reflector glass, so I moved back while ensuring that the S-13 (fixed sight of ASP-3N and ASPP-4N) still fits the reflector glass. so here is updated cockpit view: MiG-15 MiG-15bis MiG-17 / 17F / J-5 MiG-17PF / PFU / J-5A NOTE: - here are EARLY and LATE version with RP-1 / P-1 and RP-5 / SL-1. RP-1 and RP-2U have orange radar screen with track range of 2 KM while RP-5 / SL-1 have tracking range of 4 KM. - Stary's great works of MiG-17FP / FPU cockpit have radar lock light. While being unable to re-size it, it is moved to align with the texture of RP-1 / P-1 and RP-5 / SL-1. - The radar hood have been tilted toward the position of pilot, for better visibility of the radar scope and the instruments. >>> Operating RP-1 / P-1, RP-2U, and RP-5 / SL-1<<< From what I have learned, the radar have two mode: Search and track, whichi s very simple. So in order to track, you can switch from search to boresight mode. And please note that RP-1 and PR-2U have track range of 2 KM while RP-5 have range of 4 KM. All share the same range of searching around 12 KM. Search mode for RP-1 / P-1 / RP-2U (When the target pass the 2 KM line, that is when you can to switch to boresight to track the target) Here is TW style version of RP-1 / P-1 and RP-2U RP-5 / SL-1 radar in MiG-19FPU (1957)

1 pointYeah I am working on these, still WIP. Currently we can have J-10C and J-10CE. I have tried to make them as realistic as possible, including tactical numbers and weapon loadouts. Therefore, I also made two different fuselage stickers for the PLA version of the J-10C and canards will have different working conditions in different states balabala... All of these will take time, much longer than 2 weeks. Most of them are already done. Currently, I am still trying to find or create a model of the laser targeting pod myself. In addition, the main problem is the cockpit. Due to the lack of J-10C cockpit example images and the lack of models available on the Internet, I currently use Rafale one and make some "localized" modifications. I am still trying to contact the creators of the Rafale mod to obtain permission to use.

0 pointsLast update before starting my treatment as I am going to have so many tests in the come two weeks before 12 June. My cancer turned out to be T3 N2 M0. (T3) which means stage 3 in the tonsils. (N2) it has spread to the lymph nodes more than five on both sides of the neck. (M0) indicates it has not spread to distant sites. I am in London and am scheduled to start both chemotherapy and radiation for six weeks, starting June 12. I am looking on the bright side and hopefully, inshallah, things will turn out well after treatment. Sincerely, Mohamad.
