  1. just a test... or so... 8BSTRIKE01.flv
  2. looks good!
  3. On gatling-type guns can be prone to jam to, if their ammo feed is designed or maintenanced poorly... another problem they have is a "runaway-gun".. gun spools up but wont stop MiG-21F and MF etc have 3 pyrotechnic charges to clear a jam ( = 3 attempts), operation of them is via push-buttons on the instrument panel. Revolver-type cannons ( ADEN, DEFA, Mauser etc) also use a pyrotechnic system with 3 to 10 charges depending on gun installation/ aircraft type, but many of the early aircraft using those guns were not fitted with them at all.
  4. The directory where the cat archives are located... leave that alone. All files you change or add ( new AC etc) go into (for XP) x:\...\username\My Documents\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\... (for Vista) x:\...\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\...
  5. DTT mode in the APG-70 ( 1985 +, MSIP II) was introduced to shoot two targets with AIM-7M .. not AMRAAM... hehe
  6. Huns were loaded with 2x mk82 or 3x mk81 on TERs on the inboard stations... to lug more of that "light" stuff around. But it was a rare loadout and not used by all squadrons. http://www.f-100.info/images/f-100d_62937.jpg http://www.f-100.info/images/f-100d_63197.jpg http://www.f-100.org/hun.shtml edit : freekin pics ....
  7. Happy Birthday Brian!
  8. VF-114 and -213 used the MK 4 for a short time during the 1966-67 cruise... but it didnt work so they switched back to the 600gal tank on the CL
  9. thank you ..
  10. Eyyy... Four !!!! Just feels better for a Merc.... old kites, second hand.... is smaller... cheaper to operate than that big Corsair... Can use Walleyes for bunker busting.. or a stick of Snakeyes for almost everything else....
  11. lol, thank you sparky!
  12. thanks guys!
  13. quick overview of the four ObjectData .cat's 001 = same as the old SF/WOX ( has GOs, basic decals, weapons ) but no aircraft related stuff anymore 002 = contains all AI aircraft related stuff like ini's, skins etc. 003 = contains flyable aircraft related stuff like ini's, skins etc. 004 = is the Decals .cat
  14. Google the time life picture archives which were uploaded recently in google, go to the picture search function and write xxxyour queryxxx source:life theres some interesting stuff if you search for sabre air war vietnam liberty aerial F-104 F-4 f-4e f-4c f-4d have fun snooping around there
  15. your model force is strong....
  16. Mirage Factory F-15A was made pre WOE release and its FM was never updated.. its totally outdated by now.
  17. I think there's nothing in the avionics which comes close to the ARBS . Doable would be making a avionics ini for avionics70.dll using the normal CCIP function provided by it Only Laser pods and EO seekers track targets, no onboard systems.
  18. lol that thing shoots rifle bullets at a horrendous rate... good tool to mow down troops or other "soft targets"... try a armed recce mission and pump some trucks full of lead
  19. GAF F-4F got them with the Peace Rhine upgrade which was going on from 1980 to '82 IIRC UK F-4M ... I think the Brits refitted their kites after the Falklands War due to some "lessons learned" which will put the date to 1982 onwards. Same dispenser system as on F-4E and F That system consisted of 4 dispensers, one each side on the rear of the inboard pylons. They could hold 30 chaff each for a otal of 120 chaff cartridges 15 flares on the outboard mounted dispenser on each side or 2x 15 = 30 total flares, those 2 dispensers weremounted with some down ward deflection due to some clearance reasons ( no flares on the inboard mounted dispenser ) All that means that a normal CM configuration during the 80's was 60 chaff and 30 flares
  20. jaja.. tonnenweise schoko hier... ...
  21. the ALE-40 dispenser set was available in 1975 at the very earliest date (still under development then).. more widespread use was in 1977/78 with USAFE units getting them first.
  22. some stock bmp files which are used by add-on kites are no longer there or more likely have a different name.. thus the texture errors white HUDs.. thats caused by some glitch in the avionics70 dll.. known bug. Its not your vidcard ~
  23. the effects folder goes into (for XP ) my documents\Thirdwire\StrikeFighters2\ but... apparently its not working for now.. TK is looking into it.
  24. eh... santa was close andI in a hurry... sooo... dont touch the decals ini's make new DECALS folder in ..\StrikeFighters2\Objects make new subdirectories which match the decal path for the particular aircraft and skin e.g. Objects\Decals\F-16A\USAFHill that means you make a "F-16A" folder inside Decals folder, then a "USAFHill" folder inside F-16A folder etc... then move the skins decal subfolder ( most have it named "D") or the loose decals into the new subdirectory... which would be in this example case: move "D" from Objects\Aircraft\F-16A\USAFHill\D\ <--------- that D folder to Objects\Decals\F-16A\USAFHill <---------- into USAFHill clear as mud...no ?
  25. re: Decals instead of editing all the decal inis, you can create subdirectories in the ..\my documents(or saved games in vista)\Thirdwire\StrikeFighters2 folder which match the decal path as given in the decals ini example FileName=F-16A\USAFHill\D\serial StrikeFighters2\Objects\Decals\F-16A\USAFHill\D\ that way it is possible to keep an overview about all the decals and creating some folders is less work then editing all the inis edit: fixed typo in the decal folder path
