To hide a part/mesh, we use the entry for the destroyed parts - they are hidden by default. Make a new component (with the correct sequential #) entry in the AircraftData section [AircraftData] ... Component[0xxxxxxx]=HideWhatYouWant And then add this (just showing the basics) [HideWhatYouWant] ParentComponentName= DestroyedNodeName=the_name_of_the_part_to_be_hidden

View for Carrier Landing / In-Flight Refueling
Crusader replied to Crusader's topic in Mods & Skinning Discussion
The TW A-7: Cockpit F-14: Object39 You can use the LodViewer tool to view any lod, simply make a ini file in the Aircraft folder (others may work as well) with the correct reference to the lod file. See attached examples. ShowCOCKPIT_A-4F.zip -
Very detailed! More a excursion in history rather than gaming

View for Carrier Landing / In-Flight Refueling
Crusader posted a topic in Mods & Skinning Discussion
While taking the Etendard IVMP / F-4J tanker pics today, I had a problem: no good view of the probe. No "raise the seat" function. One view mod for carrier landings has been made some years ago: I came up with something different - I made the "raise the seat" function. Its really a "lower the cockpit" switch Two ways: Instantly, by use of , e.g, the arresting hook command. Good for carrier planes. Cockpit ini edit: Instrument[XXXXX]=CarrierLandingView [CarrierLandingView] Type=ARRESTING_HOOK_INDICATOR NodeName=Bottom MovementType=POSITION_Z Set[01].Position=0.0 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=-0.04 Set[02].Value=1.0 This section is set up to move the the cockpit down by 4 cm with the hook down. Adjust as required One has to find the top-level mesh name of the cockpit lod, for TW F-4's this is "Bottom" Gradually, by using the thrust vector control command. Allows to adjust the "seat height" through a set range of travel Cockpit ini edit: Instrument[XXXXXXXXXX]=CarrierLandingView2 [CarrierLandingView2] Type=THRUST_VECTOR_CONTROL NodeName=Bottom MovementType=POSITION_Z ValueUnit=DEG Set[01].Position=0.0 Set[01].Value=4.9 Set[02].Position=-0.002 Set[02].Value=5.0 Set[03].Position=-0.040 Set[03].Value=24.0 Example set up for moving the cockpit down 4 cm, in 2 mm steps per degree of thrust vector movement The first 4.9 degree are a dead zone, to prevent "flicking" if the command is used with a joystick lever.- 5 replies

Here is the latest: F-14A_Iran.zip Re-colored lights for the ACM panel and the radio channel indicator texture, all changed from amber to red. To use the textures with the SF2NA F-14A and F-14A_77, remove "_Iran" from the file names. Move or copy the files into the respective cockpit folder(s)

Is there a sound ini or something of that ilk?
Crusader replied to alexis99's topic in General Discussion
Extract SoundList.ini from FlightData.cat and move it into the Flight folder Then edit the ini and add your new sound. Add a new entry to the list, give it the next number in line Copy the data section from a similar sound, rename accordingly .. youll figure it out when you see it :) -
Interview with Robert Hierl on the Mig-29 Fulcrum
Crusader replied to MigBuster's topic in Military and General Aviation
MiG-25 and flares: Iraqi (and other exported, e.g. Libyan, Syrian) MiG-25PDS (and only this type, not the PD) have flare dispensers mounted in place of the wing fences. System name is KDS-155, iirc. Two 15-shot magazines per wing, in tandem. The 50-mm cartridges are visible in this photo (on wiki) -
Bump for wazaloo68 You only need the file F-4E_Iran.rar in ravenclaw's post from Dec 24 2016.

Fun with rockets. Type "Sneb68" (ravenclaw armory quality hardware), Ive increased the CEP value to 75. This gives a much nicer "shotgun" pattern with single rockets sometimes crossing my flightpath Animation times are now these, that way the fins are opening much faster, right after the rocket leaves the pod ReleaseAnimationTime=0.100000 ReleaseAnimationDelay=0.050000 The Matra LR F1 and F4 pods have a firing rate of 30 rockets/sec, I have changed both pods to this rate. Much denser salvo firing.

Lets say it is done "the lite" way, originally :D All missiles were indicated (the status), as I have modded it. Not just the selected missile and station - gives no overview about how many are left. Thus the USAF variants could be modified too, but without the wing Sparrow stations. Reminds me, I didnt check If I have updated the AIM-9 stations .... I started this mod 2 years ago or so, with just one jet for trials..
