  2. Which terrains do you have?
  3. It could be, that it depends on the terrain you use. The DC-10 needs very long runways. If your terrain has only large, medium or short runways, the game will crash. Try the stock GermanyCE terrain. There the DC-10 will fly. There is an other thing you still must change. In the skin folders of the DC-10, the skin is in jpg format. That you must convert in bmp format. Then you will see following bird in game: tested with WoI Operation Kadesh with GermanyCE terrain.

  6. Isnt there a free 3ds model of the XWing, that someone could convert into .lod?
  7. I forgot to say, if you use SF2 models in SFP1 WoX World, you must convert the ini files from Unicode to ANSI code. Sounds difficult, i know, but it isnt. Open the ini files with notepad editor and press "save as". Then you can choose the right data format. Simply select ANSI and save. Give it a try.
  8. To make a terrain, so that it looks like the Death Star would be difficult, but making terrains like the ice planet Hoth would not to difficult.
  9. Some SF2 planes can be used in WoX/SFP1 world, especially if you use Wings over Israel Kadesh. But some others you cant use. Give it a try and hope for the best. Perhaps it will run. The other problem is, that SF has no ferry flight missions, so that you cant simulate the flight of an airliner or transport plane. In a skripted mission it would be possible, but not with random missions or in campaigns.
  10. My son asked me, wheter there is a Star Wars mod for Strike Fighters. I have no idea. Thatswhy my question to the wisdom of this forum. Has someone a X-Wing, Y-Wing, Tie-Fighter for SF?
  11. Hab ich gerade im Fratzenbuch gefunden:
  12. It happend under unbelievable bad conditions. The missiles were stored not properly. The maintanance of the missiles was poor. The ground crews were not special trained for the R-27 missile. And the targets were high agil MiG-29 or Su-27, which were able to outturn the incoming missile. The AIM-7M had had 33% hit rate in Desert storm. Where the american ground crews were high skilled technicians, and not uneducated farmers. The Sparrow was stored under perfect condition and the maintanance was perfect. Additionally the RWS of iraqi planes were so outdated, that they often were unable to detect the radar guidance beam of the Sparrow M. AIM-7M and R-27R were comparable. And both were bad missiles. Thatswhy the AIM-120 and R-77 were developed.
  13. Then the missile lost the target lock somewhere during the flight and is flying now unguided till self destruction is activated. If you choose the missile view in game, you will see, when it happen. The missile starts shaking a little bit, at this very moment, and then is going his own way after lost of target lock.
  14. Seeker FoV should be 6 instead 60. It means in your case that the missile can "see" targets which are 60° outside of the flightpath. The search cone of the missile is 120°. This is to much for the Phoenix. But it should not the reason for the strange behaviour of the missile. What is the target? Could it be, that it has overrated deceptive jammer?
  15. 100 vietnamese style MiG-17 skins are made so far. Are still in testing. 100 east german style MiG-17 skins are nearly ready as well.
  16. I made it years ago for Israel terrain and used it later in "Persian Gulf" terrain and "Baltic Entrance" terrain. All terrains were made for WoE or WoI. A stand alone download you will find here: http://combatace.com/files/file/10946-nuclear-reactor/ A simple search in the download section by using the search function and the words "nuclear reactor"
  17. As recon bird, the MiG-25 made a great job. It operated from Egypt over Israel in the early 70th and evaded HAWK missiles and F-4E fighters by high speed high altitude runs. There were rumours, that some MiG-25 were refitted to carry medium range Anti-Radar missiles (IIRC Kh-58 or so, with a range of approx 100km). I have never seen such refitted birds in real life.
  18. The MiG-25 fighter versions were used only by PVO Strany, what means air defence, and not by VVS, what means frontline air units. The training of the MiG-25 pilots was only intercept, not dogfighting. The plane had had no dogfight capabilities. It was designed as a very fast, very high flying, fast climbing airplane with limited air search abilities. The pilot relied only on ground control for target search. He has a very limited field of view from his cockpit. No chance for dogfighting. Even the MiG-31 was intended only as interceptor. The ability to carry the R-60 missiles is only to see as a psychological aspect. Neither MiG-25, nor 31 had a internal gun or could carry a gunpod. With the R-60 the pilots had a little weapon for selfdefence, but with the poor agility of the MiG-25 or 31, they would never had a chance to use it successfully. It is like the R-3S Atoll missiles on a L-39 Albatros trainer. Nice to see, but no real chance to use it.
  19. The MiG-25P was a pure intercepter. It was intendet to intercept the XB-70 Valkyrie bombers and when the USA decided not to produce the Mach 3 capable bombers the MiG had no real target. The SR-71 could be intercepted by MiG-25 only in a small corridor over the Baltic Sea, between Sweden and the GDR, where the SR-71 had simple no space for flight path changes. There the SR-71 was intercepted nearly every time. In the north (Murmansk area), the MiG-25 was unable to intercept the SR-71, because already slight flight path changes of the Blackbird were enough to evade the MiG-25. With the MiG-31 the soviets had a fair chance to intercept the SR-71. The MiG-25P were only used for intercept missions. Never for escorts, CAP, recons, air-to-ground etc. The MiG-25R flew only recon missions. The tactic was simple hit and run. Avoid enemy fighters by high speed, high altitude flying. Fire the missiles and run away.
  20. Test mission over IsraelME stock terrain. SA-6 site SA-6 firing SA-6 missile on the way missile is coming in missile hit Nesher
  21. Vietnam skins on the way.
  22. The term "SAM_Launcher" give the game engine the order to place at this position a SAM system. Not which SAM System. The first entry in a target area related to SAM is "SAM_RADAR". The game engine decides randomly which type of SAM Radars is set on this place (depends on availability and year). The SAM_RADAR type is connected (networked) with a specified SAM missile type. (Fansong Radar is always networked with SA-2. Flatface is networked with SA-3, StraightFlash always with SA-6 and so on) In the _data.ini of the SAM_Radar you will find the line: NetworkType=SA-3 If no SAM missiles are fired in game it could have the reason, that the radar is not working (check wheter there are SAM Radars on the map), then it could be, that the missiles in the weapondata.ini have a different designation than in the, lets say, Fansong_data.ini line "NetworkType=SA-2" An other question. If you fly over North Vietnam, as you said above, do you has tried to press F7 button to see the groundobjects? If you do this, do you see missiles on the launchers? Do you see SAM Radars? Or are there no missile launchers at all?
  23. Here you have a simple F-14A recon mission. No enemies. Only take off from carrier fly to East Germany and come back to carrier and land there. F-14A_Recon.zip Unzip the file into your missions folder. thats it.
