You mean this Ka-52? It got a hit in the left flare dispenser and the left engine was hit by some debris. The helicopter seems to be more or less intact, what means that it was an emergency landing. Otherwise the pilots would have been ejected automatically. Its a good question, why the pilots not have flown home? The Ka-52 can fly with only one engine. It seems to be, that the will to fight is not very strong at the russian military. Its a proof of the old word, that the russian soldiers is worth noting when acting as aggressor. Only as defender the russian soldiers are great. And Russia is the aggressor, without doubt. Thatswhy they will lose this war.

Wobblin' Tejas!

I think the plane acts oversensitive to joystick input. This is a flight model issue, which you cant solve easily. The quick and easy solution is to stay below the speed level where the "wobbeling" appears and handle the joystick with care. -

What If Screenshot Thread.......

When Russias behaviour became more and more aggressive against the West, the german government decided to increase the numbers of fighter planes by realignment of 12 new fighter squadrons, what means 480 new planes. To hold the costs as low as possible the german government decided for a licence production of the HAL Tejas, equipped with european engine EJ-200 and german weapons. The plane got the name "Orkan". 12 month after the decision the first Orkan fighters were delivered to the fighter squadrons. -
The Pakistanis have already the JF-17 in service. Its much cheaper to operate than the J-10. The question is, wheter Pakistan can affort it to operate a two fighter type fleet?

We had 3 female secretary of defence in row. Nobody can see any logic in the things that they had done. We spent over 50 billion Euros per year for defence, for nothing. The Russians spent some 60 billion Euros, only 10 billion more then the Germans, and look at their capabilities!

IIRC there was in the Pentagon a call to all staff members to send in proposals for the name of the new fighter. Someone sent in "Sabre" and it was choosen.

My next terrain project
Gepard replied to Gepard's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
I was bored with tiling the vietnamese chinese borderland. Because of that i made an attempt to create the island of Alderney for the BoB terrain. It are still a jpg tiles, no water effect so far. That will come later. -
M39 or ADEN or DEFA guns all base on a german design IIRC MG 213. The caliber 20 mm was good enough against fighters, but to weak against bombers. German experiences of WW2 showed, that it was neccessary to hit a B-17 or B-24 with 30 to 50 hits of 20 mm rounds, but only 3 or 4 hits of 30 mm round to kill such a bomber.

The original Sabre had not had enough firepower. The 12.7 mm machineguns were a better joke. The majority of so called "kills" came from the rule, that 7 bullit hits must be shown on guncamera. But the MiG-15 could withstand 7 bullit hits easily. Very often MiG's came home with 50 or even 100 bullit holes in the body and nothing happend. Even american pilots admit, that the 12,7 mm machineguns would have been useless against a bomber like the IL-28. The best solution for the ultimate Sabre would have been the instalation of 2 british ADEN guns or 2 german MK 103 guns. This guns had enough punch to kill anything.

If you mean combat ships of carrier groups, then it is a game issue. You cant do anything.

What do you expact after 16 years of henhouse?! We have now the third female secretary of defence in row! Genderconform language is more important than combat readiness, enough fuel and ammo or even combat boots! When german troops were sent out to UN-missions they had to borrow their equipment from other units, which stayed at home, because they had not had enough combat ready equipment themself! At the moment the only nation, we could harm with our overwhelming military force is the superpower of Luxemburg.

Its a picture from this year. Its an active EuFi of the Luftwaffe. BTW. The Luftwaffe has enough missiles to fully arm 4 Eurofighters. No its not a joke. Only missiles for 4 planes. Of 12 submarines Type 212 only 1 is combat ready. Of 48 Tiger UHT helicopters 9 are ready for combat. In this light you may understand why Germany is no fan of military advantures in the Ukraine. After 5 minutes of combat we could throw only with cotton balls. Sorry guys, you are on your own.

Side & Tail Guns
Gepard replied to kurdistan1's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
To question 1, the answer is no. Gunners of planes and helicopters never fire on ground targets with guns. Unfortunatly. -
Long time ago we already had it. Was called Reichsflugscheibe. Was not the hit.
