long as Sergeant Major dont see him, we're good GKABS, you may want to break down into a couple of eras. ACAV for Vietnam and the 70s with green uniformed troops, ACAV_80s with BDU patterned troops, and ACAV_03 with the ACUs. appropriate vehicle skins to each. on the older era skins, those ACUs do stand out from a distance to those that know wouldnt go as far as to change the model on the soldiers, anyone looking closely at the shape of the helmet will get distracted by high speed's big a***d mustache (dont change that!)

guessing we're talking the antennea (its before coffee) less pronounced bend when in motion (you.d have to be top speed to get that much bend, and 113 chassis dont go that fast too often). say half way between what you have and straight vertical straight for the static model version.

Flamesky, your very first post in this thread had a reasonably acceptable use of bold letters. its the others that were all bold that were off and seemed rude. also, did the Israelis put kill markings on during the wars? would seem an intel giveaway although that might be looking at it from a current prism (the Super Hornet that shot down a Sukhoi over Syria last year didnt get a kill mark until after the cruise iirc). but the IDFAF has always practiced OPSEC and deception as much as airmanship and aiming so i wonder if they would have it on during operations

i wont claim to monitor it, it just pops up in my FB feed all the time. hunted thru several articles to find the info in that one (ok 30 second scanning for the info desired)

i thought the BUFFs were supposed to take 33 sorties to Hanoi, not get bombed on 33 (beer) in Saigon....

Iron Dome is a C-RAM system, and part of the IDFs IADS. they have to take regular short range attacks on home soil into account unlike the other major militaries in the world it doesnt focus on aircraft and ballistic missiles, rather it Counter Rocket Artillery and Mortars, with the Israeli focus on rockets (a tube is a tube, a box is a box. but artillery pieces and mortars stand out and can get zapped easily before use. probably why Hamas uses rockets so much, easier to hide until the launch) the genuis in Iron Dome is that it doesnt engage unless there is a high percentage that the incoming round will impact a populated area . and most rockets will go where they want, not the operator, once in flight. the footage of intercepts gets somewhat scarier if you realize that a lower percentage of intercepts are launched vs rounds incoming As for Seoul, their biggest threat a million artillery tubes (by all accounts not much of an exageration) pointed at them. priority target at the resumption of the Korean War for RoKAF and USAF is those artillery but it will take some time and the capital city will be in a world of hurt that will make the recent saturation attacks seem like a spitwad in grade school. part i never understood was how a cannon round (in the American system) or warhead is supposed to stop a 105mm or greater shell. as the commercial says, thats not how this works. but the A make the acronym sound cool so i guess that why

in the first batch of 4 3 single, one twin. dont think theyve gotten them all yet heres the article, also discusses the aircraft histories https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/38991/first-contractor-operated-f-16-aggressors-include-mig-killers-veteran-of-iraqi-reactor-strike

another request (sorry!) are these on your radar anytime soon? M109A6 Palidin 155mm self propelled howitzer and its supporting M992 CAT ammo carrier we have a M109 model way back in the archives of SF1 land, but its wrong for the more modern era (short barrel, incorrect body shape) i do have a certain history with these, having gone to Kosovo in 2000 with a Field Artillery battalion. so green would be nice too

true, but now i gotta hold on until 2023, or at least late 2022 when we know how the art work is for GOTG Vol 3

well, as a guy in a movie once said, its a small operation, but theres potential for aggresive expansion! still was impressed. pulling off of external into the system still took same amount around an hour or so on the same system. so 14 minutes was a lil impressive to me at least now back to comparing stock ish aircraft, already in progess
-
potentially ignorant comment but.... i think there is either ships that feature vertical launch systems or at least some threads in the early days of hte SF2 records that talk about them if possible on a ship, dont know why it wouldnt be possible on a mobile sam

ther Eric(K)s are closest in reading my intent on the post Erik: oh i know this. 4 drives total although the two regular HDDs are mirrored (before coffee cant reemember RAID 0 or 1 just yet). and those are now renamed from "RAID" to "Mod Drive". was going to set up the second SSD as the back up drive for the main system but me thinks i will affect a slight change up now EricJ: I thought i was a little low . with this go around im going to try to remember its a flight sim, not a just a digital model painting program all others : thank you for your replies so far. i had a brain fart when i said exes, meaning installs. i did in fact have fun with installing each bit i have from TW to date (from the site this time instead of my external) and am working on the mod folders copied from my old system before totally setting up the new one. although i have a copy of Dels C-130A in the mod folder already even before its official update: transferred from the hdd to the ssd. took 14 minutes to move all 90 GB. im impressed, esp since at best that used to be a start at lunch check at dinner operation

NOTE: this isnt so much looking for advice as just discussing how its gone for others in the past. So, still working around real life on getting my new computer set up, and the final part is going to be setting up my SF2 installs. currently at a nice medium 90GB worth of goodies (i say medium, i know theres some going holy crap thats a lot and some saying thats rookie numbers ) last time i did this, i backed it all up and dropped it all in after creating matching installs. this time is going slower, as i plan to make it much more painful in the beginning . 5 basic exes set up currently, with new ones to be created for naval combat, NATO 1950-1960, NATO 60-70, and 70 on up. a vietnam dedicated to helicopters, two test specific ones (one clean and one set up for nukes) and a jumbo jet specific one (because, me) but wait theres more! not only am i doing these up, but looking at things like Eastern Med specific to the improvements i've made ( the LARAF Herk skin in there is similar to mine, but mine is tweeked up a bit better as one example) so a process that took about 45 minutes last time is going on 12 hours actual time spent over the last week. whats your experiences installing SF2 into new systems? am i being extra special this time around or still being noobishly simple?

the link says RAF, but the site has the airlines too......

if i were tackling this, i would throw a blank layer on top, them scale the image (not layer) 200-300 percent trace the shape and use color picker to get that down. keep pressing shift while working the pen/pencil/brush/ whatever you use and just make the curves a large series of small straight lines. do the curves esp zoomed in at least 200% if not more the Cryllic word is only slightly trickier, quick google search for an image with it (in the proper font and style) or playing with Word or something similar. PS and GIMP will use teh same fonts you have in your preferred docx program, but looking it up in word first keeps GIMP from crashing (well, at least several years and versions ago, just habit for me now) i understand wanting a ready made copy. but as scratch makes go that one seems really straight forward

ARABICSW000 to 099 what are they?
daddyairplanes replied to GKABS's topic in Mods & Skinning Discussion
i keep tellin you all, bring out the GIMP -
awesome! detailed enough i can almost see the split in somebodies ACU pants
-
nah, made some myself and keep damn near everything in the templates. probably would have spent as much time converting as scratch building any how. preciate the offer tho
-
ok, gotcha. thought you were making from scratch. could have used those windows doing the VC-130 a few months ago
