SF2 North Cape Terrain Revamp 5/15/23
== For SF2, any and all, but designed with SF2:E in mind ==
*Please note, if you have the original, I suggest backing it up, simply for safety's sake. It will also archive it, for historical purposes.*
This is a revamp of the North Cape terrain by Baltika. It has gone through a somewhat large rebuild, mostly to clean up and add "eye candy" to the airports and some of the other military targets. It still remains in the single 'winter' season. Ports have been upgraded with buildings, docked ships and other martime goodies. The movement ini has also been modified, with additional and/or re-routed routes. It should be noted, this is =NOT= a NavalMap, so don't expect any carrier action. Limited Nations is also "TRUE", using the Usual Suspects (tm).
I've supplied a great number of GroundObjects, but you'll want to double check them after unzipping, to make sure you have everything before installing. Meaning: not everything has been supplied. Ground defenses (AAA & SAMs) use the generic tags (SAMLauncher, SAMRadar, etc), so there should be no problems with the GameEngine (tm) using what's in you Mods Folders.
As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE READ THEM!!!
Good Hunting!

Battle of Britain 2 1960th
*****************************************************
This mod is made for SF2E.
----------------------------------------------------------
I.
Battle of Britain 2 1960th terrain is a rework of Battle of Britain 2 Operation Sealion terrain, with focus on the 1960th. So you can fly and fight in a potentional Battle of Britain, which is fought in the 1960th.
As basic the terrain is set as a Western European Union versus UK conflict. You can fly either for the french, west german, dutch, danish and belgium forces or for the RAF or the Royal Navy. The conflict starts with the occupation of the British Channel Islands by France and the british response.Thatswhy the airfileds on that islands are set for the red side and not for the RAF. You also find beachheads of a WEU invasion force, so that you can fly CAS missions on south Englands coast.
If you like a more classic Soviets vs Britain setting, then you should look into the Goodies folder. In the subfolder Soviets vs UK you find the neccessary files to modify this terrain. Simply copy the two files (....nations and .....targets) into the Battle of Britain 2 1960th mainfolder and let overwrite the existing files. Then you can fight down the Soviets or, if you want, you can fly for the Soviets.
If you want to switch back you can do it easily with copy the files from Europe vs UK folder.
Compared with BoB2 OpSealion the new terrain has 19 additional targetareas. Some parts of the map are new tiled, some areas with photorealistic tiles, made by satpictures. The airfields are completly reworked, there are no two airfields which are looking as each other. The positioning of trees on the map (tod objects) is reworked on the most tiles.
A known issue are the blue squares around the islands of Guernsey, Herm and Alderney, which not really match the color of the surrounding sea. I hope to solve this in a later update.
The terrain comes with a campaign. It is a Western European Union vs UK campaign.
If you want to fly for the Western European Union you need flyable versions of following planes
F-104G Starfighter
F-84F Thunderstreak
Mirage3C
Super MystereB2
F-100D
All this planes are stock planes, for flyable versions you need only a cockpit. It can be found easily in the download area of CombatAce.

SF2 Deuces Euro Desert Terrain Pack 8/24/24
== For SF2, any and all, but Full 5 Reccommended ==
*** Your mod folder(s) =MUST= have, or access to, the stock Desert terrain, as many items are referenced from that stock terrain cat. ***
Once upon a time, in the early 2000s, one of our first terraformers, Deuces, released this "Euro-Desert". Basicly, retiled to a more lush green environment. What I've done here is fully update it for use in the SF2 Environment by adding or changing all needed statements in the data ini, and "fixing" all water bearing tgas with new alpha channels. Other than adding the 2 stock ships in port and some vehicles that show up parked in various places, NO other (outside or non-stock) items have been added! Consider this as close to the original stock desert terrain as possible! With some window dressing. As always (meaning: target area upgrades. Nothing TOO major). There are NO Easter Eggs. Sorry! (not sorry).
When 'in game', on the terrain selection drop down, you'll see
Deuce's Green Desert
Select it, and play normally.
As is always recommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE READ THEM!!! The original readme is inside the terrain's folder, and is included for historical purposes.
Good Hunting and Happy Landings!

SF2 Green "Not Desert" Terrain Pack 8/23/24
== For SF2, any and all, but Full 5 Recommended ==
*** Your mod folder(s) =MUST= have, or access to, the stock Desert terrain, as many items are referenced from that stock terrain cat. ***
Once upon a time, in the early 2000s, one of our first terraformers, Deuces, released a "Euro-Desert". Basiclly, retiled to a more lush green environment. This is my contribution in that vein. This terrain is designed to be FUN, and perhaps more than a little silly. As can be expected, there are Easter Eggs (tm) EVERYWHERE.
This is a revamp of the stock 3rd Wire "Desert" terrain. It has gone through a somewhat extensively large rebuild (tile-wise), being retextured to a more cooler climate (see Notes) Large amounts of "eye candy" have been added to the airports, cities and other military targets. Ports have been upgraded with buildings, docked ships and other maritime goodies. The movement ini has also been modified, with additional and/or re-plotted routes. Be advised, that the original Desert campaign(s) MIGHT work, as I kept "things" as close as possible to the original, with the exception of FINALLY naming the tiled city regions in the southwest of the map that had never been touched since the 2003 initial release of SFP:1. However, I cannot gar-un-tee any of the existing stock or user made campaigns will work on this modded terrain; Be Advised!
I've supplied a great number of Ground Objects (many of which you may already have), but you'll want to double check them after unzipping, to make sure you have everything before installing. Meaning: not everything has been supplied. Ground defenses (AAA & SAMs) use the generic tags (SAMLauncher, SAMRadar, etc), so there should be no problems with the Game Engine (tm) using what's in your Mods Folders. With Ground Objects in mind, this terrain has the usual minimum year spread from 1945 through (at least!!!!) 2050. There are NO mission restrictions, excepting Naval Action (no CVs!!).
When 'in game', on the terrain selection drop down, you'll see
NotDesert (Green)
Select it, and play normally.
As is always recommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE READ THEM!!! It should be noted, you might (ok, WILL) experince longer than normal loading times on this terrain. It's because of all stuff I found I needed to include when (re)building it.
Also, PLEASE read the "Notes" section for more data on the astronomical, geophysical and climatic conditions of this "region".
Good Hunting!

This mod should be used in conjunction with the "night lights for City" mod released by me.
Quick update to the entire Kamchatka 250m map to have night lights in cities.
Installation:
Before you begin. Backup your files
Extract the ini files to Kamchatka terrain folder. Note this only works for Kamchatka terrain patched with Stary's 250m tileset PLUS the crash fix update released by me.
The purpose of this mod is to enable some light decoration of city in SF2, which does not provide such feature out of box.
This mod does not add real light source due to poor graphical outcome. It works in similar fashion as the old Janes F-15E Strike Eagle by adding some always bright points to landscape.
Please note the mod itself does not automatically add lights to maps. You will need to follow the instruction inside the zip add lights using the Mue's Target Area Editor in link below. There is some step to add to the _TYPES.ini for each terrain before you can do that. Hence please follow the instruction below carefully.
Mue's Target Area Editor - as part of the tool box
I have included an effect file which could be called in _types.ini in terrain folder for anyone interested in experimenting night lights with real light source. This is currently disabled due to poor visual outcome.
This is a bug fix for the random crashing issue of the Kamchatka 250m tile set update released by Stary in below link
Kamchatka 250m version with adjusted tileset etc - Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements - CombatACE
If you are using the original Kamchatka 2.0 terrain released by Baltika, this is not applicable and you should avoid using it.
Beautiful landscape tile. However it crashes randomly when flying in certain area or dropping bombs to airfields. The key issue is some incorrect file assignment in DATA.ini and how SF2 handles files in different season folders.
It took me a long time to figure out. Hopefully this can help you as well.
Installation:
1. Before everything, backup your KAMCHATKA_DATA.INI in your terrains folder. In case this breaks something else you have modded.
2. Extract the file contents and overwrite file if asked to terrains/KAMCHATKA folder
This terrain now uses the 250 meter resolution as described here....
http://combatace.com/topic/89389-kamchatka-250m-version-with-adjusted-tileset-etc/
Thanks Stary.
Please be aware that due to the terrain resolution, number of objects etc this terrain may take a while to load or not even run at all...Reading the README's is vitally important..!!
What's new ?
We now have seasons but the winter version dose'nt have snow as I cant seem to get it right.
Quite a few new tiles and tod's for the new airfield layouts by myself.
Lots of new objects including several complete RAF style airbase layouts made by myself.
I have included a few ground object files, some downloaded from here [ships] and some made by myself [RAF trucks and radar etc] but to make sure everything shows I would get just about every UK ground object you can from the CA downloads section.....there are just too many for me to add to the file and keep its size fairly small.
FINALLY a big "THANK YOU" to EVERY body that has made any mods for the SF2 series..........there's a good chance some of you work is used here ....Thanks again.
