Caesar Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 (edited) F-14 F-8 MiG-21 Main reason for the F-14 is the last hard-core (or harder-core) Tomcat sim I remember is Fleet Defender. The F-16 has Falcon 4.0, LOMAC covers the F-15 and Su-27, Janes F/A-18 covers the F/A-18 (duh). It's been a while. *EDIT: The Su-33 obviously wasn't in service before 1980! sugarblues Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 For me ? F-14 F-4 Buccaneer Thanks for asking :-) SB Quote
+allenjb42 Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 I'd just have the F-4 and MiG 21, with multiple versions of each and multiple scenarios/terrains (Historical - Vietnam, Mid East, Iran/Iraq, and Fictional - Korea, Central Europe etc.). There'll be lots of other planes flown by ai too right? Quote
Nightshade/PR Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 I'd have to go with: SU-17 JA-37 EA-6B Quote
Rambler 1-1 Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 1. F-14 (A,D) 2. F-4 3. F-8 the kings of the navy! Quote
hide86 Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Quoting Rambler on the first one: F-14 all the way to Bombcat A-6 F-4 Possible WP flyables: Mig-29 Mig-21 Mig-23 And we're OK with time frames... 60s to 2000+...XD Quote
Viggen Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 C5 I'd say its come down to 5 planes. F-4, F-14, F-111, F-8, MiG-21 Quote
Thog10 Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 1: F-14 2: F-4 (preferably including both USN and USAF variants) 3: A-4 However, I think I would like a good Hornet sim most of all (if the era under consideration were to be extended a bit). Quote
+Spectre_USA Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 F-22 F-35 F-111 What? You asked! Quote
+streakeagle Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 F-4 MiG-21 Mirage Those 3 aircraft ARE the principal fighters from 1960 to 1980, and continue to serve to the present. Quote
+FastCargo Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 I'd definitely advocate a multi-role aircraft...I liked F-14 FD back in the day...but compared to F-15 SE III, it got sort of old after a while. I'd also advocate a 'verses' scenario. And it has to have a wide as possible fan base. Finally, prefer that it hasn't been done before in recent memory. With all of that, plus C5's conditions, narrows the field pretty much... 1. F-4 2. MiG-21 3. Harrier Having said that, the CF-105 story is pretty popular in Canada. You might get a lot of Canuck sales if someone made a dedicated CF-105 sim...and I mean a LOT of them. FastCargo Quote
Apocal Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 (edited) I'd also advocate a 'verses' scenario. Yes. Multiplayer would be s**t if it was just F-4s versus other F-4s (for example). And with different variants you can show how each side adapted and improved their design to stay ahead of the other. Edited February 14, 2008 by Apocal Quote
+MigBuster Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Pre 1980: 1. F-4 Phantom - well known throughout the world and loads of variants, multirole, and carries loads of weps (+ Carrier ops) 2. Mirage - as above - but not as good weps loadout 3. Mig-21 - as above - but not as good weps loadout My Outsider would be the F-5 (Multirole F-18/16 predessesor ) Quote
mook Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 1. F-20A Tiger shark, sincerely would like to play with it in sky! Please make it~~release~~ 2. Draken, I have liked the Hero in Area88 animation since I had seen the animation, F-20A is too. 3. F-5E This is so beutiful fighter~ Quote
