TempestII Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 I've managed to get through a good portion of Dale Brown's Patrick Mclanahan series of books over the past few months and it's inspired me to take out the B-1R for a few spins. +allenjb42 Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 (edited) Tonight's film is everyone's other favourite F-14 movie.... (Dialogue is courtesy of imdb) Captain Yelland: Alert One this is Eagle One, what've you got? Pilot: Two Japanese Zeroes, sir. Captain Yelland: Two what? Pilot: Two Trophy Class Mitsubishi A6Ms in original condition, complete with all markings. I mean, they look brand new sir! Captain Yelland: Have you been spotted? Pilot: Negative, we're right in the sun at their 6 o'clock high. Captain Yelland: Stay in visual contact, take no action without clearance. Pilot: Wilco Eagle One, out. Captain Yelland: Eagle Control to Alert One, you are clear to arm, but don't fire. Throw them off, play with them, but do not fire. F-14 pilot #1: Affirmative! F-14 pilot #1: Say, Fox... that woke 'em up F-14 pilot #2: Yeah, but I think we should give 'em another shot! [one of the F-14's barely dodges a burst of gunfire from one of the Zeroes] Pilot: Why the hell are we playing with these guys? Captain Yelland: Alert One this is Eagle One, you are clear to fire. Splash the Zeroes. I say again, splash the Zeroes... F-14 pilot #1: Eagle Control, Alert One. Splash two, repeat, splash two. Possibly one survivor in the water. +Stratos Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Thanks ValAstur for the gorgeous skins... A part of the Dhimar-UK defense agreement of 1949, was the permission to stablish a bombing range for RAF and RN use, (later also Australian and New Zealand forces were also authorized). One of the most obscure parts of the use by UK of the range was the deployment of tactical nukes using different airplanes, one of them were the Blackburn built Skyhawks, painted in antiflash whites, the Royal Navy made several launches against different types of simulated targets. On the following scrreens, we can see several pics of one of the missions. Fortunately for Dhimar fauna and flora, a live nuclear head was never used. Start on the carrier with the chase plane... Inboud to the coast. View from the chase plane. The two companions, the chase planes were equipped with special recon equipment on central pylon. Launching! Back a board. Those pics would have looked better If I knew how to use the TioPilotos filters lol 6 Quote
JosefK Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Well folks, I'm working slowly on a What-If campaign if the Dhimaris got Gripens to fight off the latest aggression... so here are some early Work-In-Progress photos. I've also decided to give the Dhimaris some digi-camo. Why? Tired of grey airplanes. 1 Quote
JosefK Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 A few more photos from my WIP... note I have the RWR finally working in the Gripen so you know what you're up against. I've asked for help to add SDBs to the Gripen though: With that, here goes: 1 Quote

+dtmdragon Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 (edited) 'In the summer of 1945, approximately 30 P-80As were sent aboard an aircraft carrier to the Philippines in preparation for the final assault on Japan. The planes were to be issued to the 414th Fighter Group, based at Florida Blanca. Unfortunately, the planes had been sent without their tip tanks and their aircraft batteries, so they sat aboard the aircraft carrier for 30 days waiting for this equipment. By the time that the batteries and wingtip tanks were delivered, the war in the Pacific had ended, so the P-80 never got a chance to enter combat in the war against Japan." http://www.joebaugher.com/usaf_fighters/p80_12.html 413th Fighter Squadron, 414 Fighter Group, Okinawa 1945/46 437th Fighter Squadron,414 Fighter Group, Okinawa 1945/46 456th Fighter Squadron,414 Fighter Group, Okinawa 1945/46 * First two are in the pearl grey paint applied to the first P-80A aircraft and wasn't used for very long as it didn't last in the field. Durasoul Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 Regarding the recent events in Crimea, the 113 squadron "Gazelle"/"Light" dispatched a Photo recon mission using the ol' trusty Phantom Screenies of fantasy: RF-4Es from Eskisehir to Crimea and back, 1434 km Thank you all who contributed to this mod. I enjoy the Recce Phantom very much(you can see me playing around with the "Super size flashbang" ). I'm sorry guys I'm not aware if there's a Crimea map for SF2. I used the NA map for its good looking water. Quote
