Wilches Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 Daddyairplanes is right. Many countries used their civil airports for both civil and military ops. 1 Quote

+GKABS Posted January 9, 2019 Author Posted January 9, 2019 Thank you for your kind replies, this AB is based on this Military AB in Kuwait (with some changes that I added to my liking) My work is near the AB (Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base ). Its used by both the Kuwaiti Airforce and the US. the control tower I modeled was from the same AB 11 Quote

+yakarov79 Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Those F/A-18 in airbase view is from 'airbase'model or game flight line? I think it is not necessary to put aircraft models on airbase. The game will load flight line aircraft by itself. BTW check KillerBee upload...some ground flighline objects are there, so you will know what was done before. 1 Quote

Parking spots' coordinates must be defined inside the airfield's .INI file. We have them predefined for the stock game airfields, but for custom 3d models, it's a different story. I would like to know if there's an easy way to add precise parking spots, as well as night lights. I don't know which reference the coordinates use, if the center of the airbase or... 1 Quote

But as long as it is in ini file...it will appear. In case of a predefined model, it will be uncomfortable to use an airfield in other maps/time periods etc etc. .. but it is just my five cents. 1 Quote
+GKABS Posted January 13, 2019 Author Posted January 13, 2019 Thank you for your links to those models, I'm aware of their existence I just wanted to design my own complete airbase for my designing pleasure and experience, and to share with the community. Like I said earlier im trying to create as much as possible, just to gain experience because I enjoy modeling and there isnt much that hasnt already been done lol with regards to the air model; its not connected to the airbase at all its only defined in the airbase .ini file so it can be used in any time period and the game will generate it. +JSF_Aggie Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 There are some .INI tricks you can do to get both runways active. This will get you twice the quantity and variety of game generated parked aircraft, if you go that route. It's also cool to see the AI operating aircraft from the other runway, while you're taking off or landing. 1 Quote
