I refuse to believe that this was a scam/money grab .. maybe I'm naive, but I truly think that he was serious about the update. I know he didn't raise what he expected, and this is the result .. I guess I'd better resign myself to the fact that SF2 will remain as is .. it's a crying shame though because this game is so bloody cool!

Unfortunately, I have to agree. I suppose we were all pinning our hopes on the release of the windows 10 update; but this has not materialized and I've given up hope that it ever will. If something miraculous happens and we see an update then maybe all the work we modders put into the game will have some purpose .. but as it stands, I have to concede that we modders are working inordinate numbers of hours to please only ourselves, each other, and the handful of users left. I wish TK would read these forums and at least give us a clear idea of what to (or not to) expect.

Try to delete this folder with controls setting and let the game to do it again with defoult buttons C:\Users\bazillius\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 NATO Fighters Plus\Controls\ your way, sure, not mine but you will need to remap all buttons. or just back this folder somewhere up

i have no idea. it needs to think what you installed last or which program can catch the tab button instead SF2. it needs to find what have been changed in your system. Try tu turn off everything possible before starting SF. i think some program catch tab button. In my life there was an incident with a game Deus ex. After Windows 10 auto updating the saves of the game stoped loading. i was very sad cuz it was the end of the game soon so i was not happy to start it again. i rolled back update and finished the game and installed update again. Dificult to say whats with your case. It needs experimenting.

The game and mod folder are completely portable. But you need to run the game first from new place once with backed up mod folder or the game rewrite some moded aircrafts with default ones. For example you move from C:\Games\SF2\SF2_mymod.exe to F:\Games\SF2\SF2_mymod.exe You need to rename temporary C:\Users\allen\Saved Games\ThirdWire\SF2_mymod\ to ..\!!!!___SF2_mymod\ run the game once and delete new made by the game SF2_mymod and after that delet "!!!!___" and game will find all your mods not touced. If you are moving modfolder you need to fix the way at Options.ini as i seethe game rewrite itself in windoas register without installing. Just need to run. I moved that way from my PC to my Laptop and back my SF2 game and modfolder. i think your problem is not connected with installing or reinstalling game. Something updated or changed in windows or antivirus. Jusy my opinion

Can you map it to another key and does it work? Is SF being run as admin? If you copy an exe from the main install and call it Allen1 then run it - it will create a new mod folder called Allen1 - so you could try that and see if tab still works in the new game. for reinstall - best would be to make a copy of your mod folders as backups before you do anything. After reinstall create new empty mod folders by running the relevant exes You may be able to copy most of the files back in - but I think the Aircraft folders may need to be done individually. If it is not done properly the game will copy all the default aircraft into the Aircraft folder after you put in the mods - which might cause problems.

What more of a sign do you need? After years of silence and ignoring the SF2 community TK came out of nowhere and wanted money. He found a few guys, that had enough hope, that this move was not just some sort of fake. And after not getting enough, he decided to go back into silence again... In my opinion, maybe at one time for a very short time he really had the idea of doing an up-to-date version, but this moment is gone for a long time. I know what not to expect.

There is web pages such as this that give instructions for checking if Defender is blocking things: https://pureinfotech.com/allow-blocked-file-app-microsoft-defender-antivirus/ I'm just a hobbyist so my progs not 'signed' so I guess it could be this.

The permissions look right is the g drive an external usb? Although the program seem to work ok on mine I've known of probs in the past with some external devices. It works with all file systems as far as I can see though. It could be being blocked by antivirus - though mine usually gives you a dialog during install to allow you to accept it. I've never seen it but apparently in properties/general there is sometimes a blocked box that can be unticked.

@madvad You're a sniper in catching bugs, I should hire you. Jokes aside, it's your lucky day, it was a rather quick fix. I've re-uploaded the two terrain packages. You'll have to wait until they are re-approved. I won't be available for other bug fixing though. Anything else you people wish to see fixed or improved, send me a PM and I'll care to read it when I feel the time is right. Don't expect immediate support, I need some rest.
