  1. Thanks as always for keeping your packages up to date, viper63a. If only I had more free time to restart modding and playing SF2...
  2. Me too, it's a sick world the one we all live in. Back to the topic, while I am disappointed a little for the outcome of this referendum, we must accept its results. Only the future can tell what will happen. I like seeing some jokes about the British now, but then I realise that most likely worse things may happen elsewhere. It's already scary that a guy like Trump made it this far, so as the Brits disappointed me (and not that much, the "leave" won by a narrow margin), I am scared shitless that there is an increase of aggressive nationalism in the US of A and other parts of Europe, or what's left of it. I admit that representative democracy it's failing, due to the low quality politicians we have elected over the years. Then, when you give full, direct democracy to the people (who are obviously much more ignorant in matters of policies, otherwise we all would be politicians), the risk of seeing a new Mussolini or Hitler is not that far. I am generally speaking, I am not referring to the UK. Let's hope that your plan works, because there is no certainty in politics, and having voted for A, and then receiving B or even C as a result, would be a failure. As I said before the vote, I wish the UK the best, I don't care if "leave" won instead of "remain". I just hope that your votes are going to give you the results you expect over the years.
  3. I think I went a little off-topic the post before, so just to stay on track, I have a question; what do you think will happen to Gibraltar? I mean, IIRC 95% voted to stay, they are not going to enjoy this shift of policies anytime soon. I heard that Spain has already requested a joint rule of it.
  4. I am from one of the countries on "very shaky ground", so I don't need to stop, to wonder the reasons. On top of that, I don't blame the EU if the people in my country are eating shit, I blame the politicians we have elected for countless years, and who have done nothing to reform my country (needless to say, they did nothing in the EU parliament). I have the habit to clean dirty clothes at home, if you know what I mean. We have to admit whose mistakes are. Some big mistakes were made by the EU, some by our own governments. Moreover, you are mentioning banks; that should be UK's last concern; the UK doesn't have Euro, we others do, though. But, feel free to enjoy the "independence". The UK is naive if it thinks that it can compete with China, India, and so on. I just want to add that I am waiting for the UK to leave NATO. You are leaving it, aren't you? I guess not, no wonder why. Ah, and anyway, I am just suggesting to wash the flag instead of burning it, because the EU flag has now lost, betrayed its original meaning. Burning is always something violent, and I condemn violence, in any form. Washing a flag would have more meaning, IMHO. Call me liberal (and I am NOT), I simply call it being respectful. EDIT: just noticed you're from Ireland. Anyway, that "you" before the edit was referred to the UK only.
  5. That is exactly what I hate to see. If he really had to do something to the EU flag, he should have washed it, not burnt it. That flag once symbolized unity and peace. Nowadays the EU is/might be something else, but that gives no right to burn the flag that was brought to light at a cost of two world conflicts.
  6. Hey, no need to apologise if you disagree. Besides, the world would be boring if everyone thinks the same. It's your country then, not mine, so you know and see things that foreigners can't. All I can say is that I hope things get better for the UK, one way or another. Wish you a nice independence day then, however you guys may vote.
  7. I hate the current EU too, but I am not that sure that leaving would be the solution, and it could mean severe consequences both for the UK and the rest of Europe. I thought that to change the EU from the horrible thing it is now, one should fight in it, not to flee from it. Anyway, if you want a symbolic gesture, don't burn the flag, wash it.
  8. Hmm, I was wondering... Does the pilot model use .tga textures or .dds textures?
  9. That's interesting. I do experience numerous CTD in my huge mod folder. It seems you finally managed to track down some of the culprits. My first guess is that there must be something wrong or missing in the _DATA.ini of said ground objects.
  10. June 16, 2016. The world witnesses the first global invasion by Cobras, built by the great yakarov79! Jokes aside, amazing accomplishment (3D modeling is a difficult task), so thanks for sharing these beauties!
  11. Congratulations, this thread was meant to share our condolences to the family victims, but you guys yet managed to turn it into another political debate. Since you suggest Islam is the problem, what is the solution? To wipe out 1.7 billion people from our planet right away? Seems rather difficult. Why do I bother replying anyway? Bah! Atreides, since when the US of A doesn't kiss Saudi Arabia? We all know the rich families in the Middle East are financing terrorists, but at the same time they are our "allies" because we buy oil from them.
  12. I say option 1. I guess loadouts could be a problem, but I noticed that some stock SF2 aircraft do use different loadouts according to the nation and/or the year, thanks to some parameters that must be added in the _loadout.ini. So maybe there is no need to create nationalized aircraft folders.
  13. Beautiful tribute R.I.P. Captain Jeff "Kooch" Kuss
  14. Resuming my terrain modding, I decided to to have a look at the various terrains in my mod folder and decided to tweak things here and there. I wanted to see if I could use hi-res First Eagles tilesets in SF terrains. Tiles are no problem obviously, but TODs are, since they do not scale properly, they are like 1:8 or more of what they should be. I think this might have to do with the fact that First Eagles' TFD resolution is 500, while in SF it is 2000. I discovered this old thread (http://combatace.com/topic/21873-resizing-terrains-thread/), it explains how stock SF terrains can be resized to RL scale thanks to Hex editing and doubling of values in the .inis. But TOD files are always a problem, they do not scale. I am wondering if the same idea (Hex editing) could be applied to TODs as well.
  15. jeanba, have a look here: http://combatace.com/topic/54964-better-ccip-mod-v11/ I'm not sure if it works with the latest SF2 patches, it was made long time ago.
  16. The Eagle... one of my favourites. Top-notch package, guys, thanks to everyone involved!
  17. I just finished watching it, and it was shocking... No wonder why Afghanistan is a mess right now. I strongly suggest viewing this one, it is a well made documentary.
  18. Ditto! Such an awesome high quality pack (something that the F-35 willl never get, we love the A-10, period). Thanks for sharing!
  19. Just convert them yourself with a software like XnView, it's damn fast, it finds all image files inside a folder, so you must remove all .tga files before converting, and you can set the .jpg quality too, default value is not great, I always set it a 100% so the .jpg will look like a .bmp
  20. Be proud of yourself. Believe me, this has potential, just keep doing what you're doing, nice work!
  21. Good thinking, Do335. Yakarov, check if you have a FORMATION.ini file inside the Flight folder, remove it and try again. Or just select a Formation Type in the mission editor. Indeed, very strange bug.
  22. I guess this is war. No matter who starts it, it always comes down to this, death and more death. It's hard not to hate this shit.
  23. I can't see the attachment. Anyway, "...call an airstrike"
