  1. Nice one, viper63a!
  2. Exactly, an example would be Novalogic's Armored Fist 2 and 3, Comanche 3/Gold and the first two Delta Force games. They use a voxel engine, without hardware acceleration. Most of the stuff is 3D (lots of polygonal stuff), only a few 2D sprites are used for special effects and such. Even PSX games are not hardware accelerated, but that doesn't mean they are not 3D or don't use polygons at all.
  3. Ditto, congratulations to the team, it's a very fine aircraft!
  4. What Coupi said. Consider that flying certain heavy bombers can cause a CTD, especially if you order your flight to attack your target. I kept the amazing red cockpits by Stary. I remove cockpits which are inappropriate for some aircraft; I like to fly only the aircraft with their own cockpit, or with a cockpit very close to the RL counterpart (same plane, just inaccurate cockpit for a certain subvariant). I went crazy and probably made the biggest mod folder ever, with an objective in mind; most stuff with less space on the HD. I converted everything I could to .jpeg (without loss of quality thanks to a good software) and I even went on to remove backup files, readmes, thumbnail caches, .out files and so on. I kept it clean and small. FYI, it contains eburger's expansion packs (most of them except the Mediterranean one atm), TSF2, Falklands War, ODS, Korea, Taiwan, Pakistan/India, Crimea, Southwest Africa, and other scenarios/terrains, plus lots of additional aircraft and yakarov's helos (including the recent ones yet to be included in some mods). Everything has been tweaked and reordered to remove unuseful copies of aircraft, etc. It has become some sort of anthology of Cold War and post-Cold War history. My mod folder spans from 1948 to 2018, seventy years of aerial warfare. It "only" weighs 126 GB on the HDD.

    Sad news for me.

Keep fighting, mate, we are with you. Wish you the best of luck!
  6. Thanks Crusader, I remember the infos you gave me for the terrain. If I miss you in the credits list, kill me! BTW, I have no problem with the location of Tanajib, thanks to Google Earth and gerwin's TFDtool, I managed to be extremely accurate given the limitations of the terrain engine. I simply don't know if the USMC effectively built an expeditionary airfield near Tanajib, and if so, where precisely (of course, I guess it should be near Tanajib itself).
  7. I found interesting material regading the USMC ops during ODS, I was able to estimate the location of two expeditionary airfields, Lonesome Dove and Al-Kabrit. Still I am not sure about Tanajib Expeditionary Airfield, I placed it a bit southwest of Tanajib Airport (some info confirms the existence of an expeditionary airfield, before the Saudis conceded the airport). I also added other Iraqi airfields that were missing. More airbases will be added just for eye-candy or for post-ODS missions. Gotta leave for some RL duties, I'll be back in two weeks.
  8. Not what I was looking for, but has a lot of other useful infos, many thanks!
  9. I don't think it is available. I once started making a 1958 Taiwan campaign based on the Second Taiwan Crisis, but I stopped because I had no info regarding Chinese squadrons and Navy.
  10. Can anyone provide me with info regarding Iraqi positions during Desert Storm? Also, I need info regarding expeditionary airfields built in support of Desert Storm.
  11. It's the proposed F-15 2040C upgrade. In other news, do the F-22s have HMD capability? AFAIK the Eurofighter does while the F-22 doesn't.
  12. Wow, I haven't heard anything about it. The Syrian civil war is simply escalating with time, now even Turkey is on the battlefield. I wonder what Putin and Erdogan are up to. The US presence in Turkey is about to be challenged.
  13. My Russian is a little rusty... Are Su-33 deployed to Syria? Most likely they are using the Syrian war as a test for new equipment.
  14. Actually it's called Ras Safaniya in the revamped terrain, and it seems it is real, or at least it was at some point. I just have to re-brand it, it's an airport, not an airbase. Just have a look at Google Earth, or here: http://airportguide.com/airport/info/AG3219 More info I gathered shows that today Ras Tanajib airport serves both Tanajib and Ras Safaniya, so Ras Safaniya is more likely a decommissioned airport (Google Earth images of it are not pretty). I better add Ras Tanajib then. In other news, I missed the H1, H2 and H3 Iraqi airbases, they are a must, they will be added ASAP.
  15. I'm back, the terrain is still alive and I have backups, just in case. Original DS terrain: Original IR2003 terrain: Revamped KuwaitWA terrain: I need some advise now. I still have to fine tune many targets with Mue's TargetAreaEditor, then I can start flattening/reworking the heightfield. Below, I'm attaching a list of airfields included in the revamped terrain. Tell me if I should add other ones, there are so many. Unfortunately, it turns out that if I place Prince Sultan Air Base and Shiraz Airport in their RL locations, these are beyond the wall, so they are not usable. At the very least they could work as Off Map Airbases with the function introduced in SF2NA, or I could place them in non-RL coordinates (problem is Prince Sultan is paramount for the DS campaign). If I knew about it before, I would have expanded the terrain's area, damn me! The terrain as of now contains targets for the Iraq/Iran war plus Desert Storm. Desert Storm targets and locations will only activate during their relative period, and they will deactivate soon after February 28, 1991. I might add post-OIF airbases and targets like in the IR2003 terrain, using the same trick. This will sort of double the targets number, and Iraq will turn Blue, while Iran turns Red, despite the fact Iraq will remain enemy in the _nations.ini. So a dedicated version of the terrain post-OIF will have to be made. Here's the list of airfields/airbases, keep in mind that the listed Iraqi airfields use/should use the pre-OIF names (the Yanks renamed and/or decommissioned some of those). So let me know if I made such mistakes. KuwaitWA_airbases.txt
  16. Gerwin, with the recent AVG updates even your latest TFDtool executable appears as a Trojan Generic16_c. I wonder why this happens, I am sure it's a false positive.
  17. Wow, you've done a lot of work, Wrench, nice one! Don't worry about re-releasing, RL comes first. I am curious about the charts, would love to see how the pack differs in winter and summer.
  18. I'd say it would be better to upload it in the add-on cockpits section. And for the credits, Pasko made the aircraft 3D model, while Kesselbrut made the cockpit 3D model plus the .ini, I think.
  19. Things are getting hotter in the real world South China Sea: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-37019028 It seems like the Chinese are building hangars for fighter jets on a number of disputed islands: https://amti.csis.org/build-it-and-they-will-come/
  20. Do as you wish, until gerwin looks at it again. But I can tell you that it works and it gave me no problems, it's likely a false positive.
  21. Me too, AVG anti-virus removes the .exe saying it is a Trojan. I am sure it is a false positive, so I listed it in the exceptions, now I can use it again.
  22. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-36997711 The world's longest aircraft has been brought out of its hangar for the first time. The Airlander 10, a plane-airship hybrid, was piloted out of the UK's biggest hangar at Cardington Airfield, Bedfordshire, at 04:00 BST on Saturday. The 302ft-long (92m) aircraft passed with just a few feet to spare through the hangar doors and was then towed for 30 minutes to its mast site. I am looking forward to its maiden flight, seems an interesting concept.
  23. How about only reworking the sea tile with ice in order to make the ice patches smaller and more sporadic? I mean, let's take said sea tile and add more water to it plus alpha channels, rather than ice. This way we could avoid making transition tiles. It won't look perfect, but better.
